They were very nice but prices are very deceptive. When they quote you or give you an estimate, please make sure they write in or type in the square footage of each area that is done. We paid a lot of money for something we thought was being done but wasn’t done. What they gave us on the estimate was not was written on their estimate at the office. Very deceptive. I guess this is the world we live in now where businesses have to make money at any and all costs. We will definitely pay for the amount but will NEVER EVER USE THEM AGAIN!!!

Very well! The bid process was simple and straight forward. Very professional.
Had a minor glitch in the quote, which was straightened out immediately and a replacement invoice provide with no questions.
Installers got the job done in the time-frame promised, were on-time and kept me up-to-date on how things were going.
They don't do spray foam as a sole line of business, and I suspect were not as polished as some of the higher bidders might have been. Note that the 3 estimates I got varied by quite a bit, but there was one high outlier; the other two were within and quot;rangeand quot;.
No complaints, and would gladly go to them again.

I had a positive experience with them. I liked the reaction time and the efficiency of the crew. They got the work done pretty quickly.

The experience was a very positive one for us. Our general contractor arranged the work, but I had a couple of interactions with the crew when they were at our house. It took them 2 days to do all of the insulation (covered approx 1800 square feet of attic coverage, plus all of the external walls.)

They worked very long days- approx 8AM-9PM to get the job done. It was a bit of an inconvenience to have them at the house in the evenings, but they were extremely professional, and worked non-stop to finish a job I'd expected would take 3 or more days to finish. There were a couple of areas that they didn't cover the first day that my contractor pointed out and they were very quick to remedy the second day. They even provided a little bonus insulation on an internal wall to help insulate noise from the pipes.

We got bids from a number of contractors, and found that they were middle range as far as cost goes. They did a very thorough and professional job and based on that, I would highly recommend someone else using them for their own needs. I will definitely be calling them again when we go to insulate the downstairs and the basement.

The process of getting open and closed cell insulation put into an existing home is messy, and it smells bad; however, the inconvenience is worth these minor issues. They guys showed up on Tuesday in a large truck. The spray insulation comes in two big drums which are mixed via a hose sprayer. The mixing of the two chemicals happens outside in their very large truck which also has a generator to provide power for the spraying and mixing. The hose had issues on Tuesday so they had to take it back to the shop and try again on Wednesday. On Wednesday the hose was working so they got started in the attic first. They draped the living room and several things in the attic with plastic. They then worked their way across the attic rafters and sprayed the entire area. The open cell foam goes on like paint but quickly expands to fill an area about 5 inches deep. The attic had been cleaned out before they started and that was a good thing because the open cell foam can drip from the rafters as it cures. After they finished in the attic they went and switched the chemicals in the truck to closed cell spray foam and repeated the process in the crawl space. Again, little bits of the foam fell to the crawl space floor as the foam was curing. it was easy enough to remove once it was dry. They did the whole job in one day. I am happy with the work. Keep in mind that if you have this done it is a bit messy and it smells bad for a while, particularly the closed cell foam (it kind of smells like fish). I'm still trying to ventilate the house to remove the smell (which is abating).
Update (8/26/2011) -- the smell from the insulation left after about two months. My utility bills have been considerably less this summer and the AC unit actually gets to cut off during the day.

My experience with most Angie's list highly rated companies has been positive. Arango does not have that many ratings on Angie's list, and that is unfortunate because this is one of the best experiences I have had with any contractor, ever. Here's why: we had a major heating problem. On very cold days, the heat would run continuously and the house was always cold and drafty. Our heating bill was punishingly high. Arango was one of the last quotes I received and was referred to me by a buddy of mine who is a builder/remodeler. Anyway, my house is a remodel, with a house literally built on top of another house. The way Icynene insulation works is that you have to seal every wall and any roof line that is exposed to the outside. In my situation that was very, very tricky b/c at times you couldn't tell where one roof line ended and another began. Throughout the job, I consulted with one of the workers, Jose, who let me crawl around the attic and inspect the work, and ask questions. The best thing about these guys is that they were diligent, honest, and went out of their way to do the right install for my home, even though a novice like me probably wouldn't have noticed if they had cut corners - which would have been very easy thing to do on a tricky home like mine. They were just great guys. The results are even better. The house is much much warmer and comfortable. And, the results with regards to how our furnaces are operating are even better. We have three furnaces in our home. The upstairs one has not even turned on in a week and the temperature outside has gone below 30 degrees. the other two units are turning on/off much less frequently. One last thing! Icynene works by "sealing" your home. Because they sealed the roof line and attic walls, we have one room in our attic that is now basically temperature controlled like the rest of the home. We are thinking about using that for a workout room. Thanks Arango - you solved a huge problem for us. Exceptional experience. Jose is awesome. What more can I say
