UPDATE 07/02/13. Found independent contractor to renovate 2nd bathroom and fix some problems with bathroom renovated by Tub Doctor. Quality of work and work ethic of crew is comparable to that of Tub Doctor. Difference is that the contractor keeps us up to date, openly reveals problems encountered, does not come up with excuses for products and supplies not being ordered or delivered on time. Key words here are: honesty and accountability. Will update this review as we proceed.
UPDATE 09/21/12: nearly 3 months since we found the second contractor and we are still dealing with issues from the tub doctor and now from this second contractor. Issues primarily centering around plumbing.
SUMMARY: The Augusta Georgia area simply does not have the same quality of contractors that one would expect to find in a larger area or as seen on HGTV. Tub Doc grade revised.
The man that repaired our tub from Tub Doctor never sanded the tub. Common sense tells me there was no way the paint that he painted over our tub was going to bond? But I thought maybe he knows something I don't? It sure looked pretty when it was done? But it is peeling. Guess what happens when you don't properly prepare a surface to apply a coat of whatever they used on? It peels!
Guess that is why they only give a one year warranty!
