Bart was prompt and professional and the folks at the store were very patient with me when I was picking out my tile, they even let me take home samples to see how they looked in the rooms actual lighting. The crews cleaned up fairly well but for a few weeks I was finding old tile chips here and there. Will totally use them again in the future!

This is the second and third time I have used HFM for all of my flooring and lighting needs.  I really love the look of their hand-scraped engineered wood flooring and everyone who sees the finished floor wants it for their home.  I bought sufficient porcelain tile for 2 separate homes and so far have installed all the tile in one home.  I was a little concerned at first that the tile would be darker than I preferred, but again, once I finished the floor, it came out beautiful and really makes a great impression on visitors.  Michael Spray has done a great job estimating and coordinating the carpet purchase and I am awaiting the final install of the carpet at my houses.  Amanda Clements is simply AMAZING with her choices of lighting.  Her lighting choice on my first house made the whole place look spectacular and I am excited to see the finished results once the lighting is installed at my latest 2 houses.  Jessica Daly has been very supportive and patient with me on the installation of new blinds.  I cannot say enough good things about Suzanne Lilly and her whole team at HFM.  They really take the time to understand my needs, they have a wide variety of stock items to suit almost any taste, and can special order other specialty items as needed.  I generally prefer to install my own materials, but it is nice to have the ability to hand the installation over to them and know that they will have everything installed in a professional and timely manner.

In the beginning I was impressed with the professionalism of the man who came out and did our estimate to refinish our floors.  The estimate I received was not the least expensive, but it was the good manners and straightforwardness of the man who did the estimate that made me decide to use Hardwood Floors and More.  I had specifically asked about some holes that had developed and he assured me that these holes would be filled in during the process.  We scheduled appointment, workers arrived on time and it seemed everything was going to be fine.
Workers sanded the floors down and replaced a couple boards that had a large gap between them.  They replaced on place of water damage from a door.  Somehow they did not replace the damaged boards directly in front of the front door.  Some of the gaps were filled in, but others were not.  When I asked about the remaining gaps I was told they would be filled in, and that we had a very large number of them.  Workers completed three coats of wax/varnish on the top of the floor.  We stayed away during this time so as to not walk on the floor and cause damage.  When I returned home we noticed that there were still holes that had not been filled in and it did not look very polished or completed at all.  I also asked about the damaged floor by the front door and was told it was too late to repair as the coats had already been placed.  I called and the same man who did the estimate came out.  He went ahead and scheduled a fourth coating to be done.  The forth coating was complete and the trim around the baseboards was finished.
I am not completely unhappy with the actual refinishing of the majority of the floors.  The things that I was/am unhappy about are:
- The damaged wood by the front door was not replaced and I was told it could not be repaired after the coats of varnish were put down.  As professionals I would have assumed this is something they would have spotted and repaired.
- I had to ask for an additional coat to make it even look like the floors had been refinished, it seems that whatever product was used was not very good.
- There are still holes in the floor in a few places that were never filled in.

It was not originally clear to us that the company would take on such a small job, but it seems that they are trying to get a footprint into the community, and doing jobs whatever the scope was the best way to do so.
Our process was not quick, but methodical. Each step took time; the initial look, the estimate, the scheduling of service, the initial call, and so forth. These things happen, on both their end and mine, and seems to just be part of the process. One aspect of the job that may also be standard, but bothered me a bit, was the need to pay for the work upfront. In general, consumer organizations suggest that at least some of the payment should be withheld, for lack of a better term, until the work is done. However, the scope of the work, as well as the ability to pay with a credit card, probably mitigated any real issues.
The first day of work, the company sent a substantial number of people to the house, and could have completed most flooring projects in a day, I suspect, with this group. However, since moisture issues were the primary reason for the need for service (the termites entered the same way water did in that section), all the group could really do was to remove the affected boards in both sections and let them dry over a weekend before more work could be done.
The repair work really could only be done one step at a time, requiring many visits. Each step was quick and efficient, and the personnel generally came on schedule. The gentleman that handled the staining and polyurethane came when he could each day, which in a few cases was the very end of the day, which, given his other work, was probably best for him, and worked well enough for us.
One thing I would like to specifically praise with regard to this process and the company is their willingness to work with me to make sure the job done was to my specifications. After the initial pass through the termite infested area, I studied the boards surrounding those that were removed, and determined that other boards should be removed and replaced. The company did so, no questions asked. Later in the process, I decided that a third coat of polyurethane was needed on the new boards, and this was also done professionally and efficiently.

They are not that great and I would not recommend them to others.  Their hardwood engineer is crappy.  When I call them, they are friendly on the phone but when I show them what is wrong they do not like that too much.  I would not use them again in the future.
Response from Hardwood Floors & More Inc
"Hardwood Floors & More installed these floors for a local builder in May 2009. The member did pay Hardwood Floors and More to upgrade from vinyl to hardwood in the kitchen and breakfast room. A builder's grade hardwood was selected. In November 2009 we repaired the floors due to water damage from the upstairs master bath. We certainly care about each job we do, however we can not warranty hardwood damage due to water, wear and tear, etc."

I must say that I would recommend this company to all of my friends. I had a variety of work performed, and the final product was excellent. I was not completely impressed by the carpet/vinyl installers (unkempt, dirty, quality not great). At the completion of the vinyl installation, they actually cut my new vinyl floor while replacing the refrigerator, and the stove has never really been replaced properly (after 2 visits). HOWEVER, the company's follow-up service has been unparalleled. They stood by their service pledge, and replaced the vinyl that was damaged (not a spot fix, they replaced the entire piece). I would have preferred they replace the entire floor, because there is a slight difference in the sheen of the vinyl on half of my kitchen floor due to the repair, but the fact that they replaced half of the floor is remarkable compared to some other flooring stores I have worked with.
It is noteworthy that, recently, my family marred the vinyl floor while dragging the Christmas tree across it. I called to have it repaired, because I was worried the breach in the vinyl  layer would cause problems. They came out, fixed it, and when I asked how much I owed, was told "Nothing". I reminded them that the nicks were due to US, not them, and they said, "don't worry, we did the installation, and we'll take care of it". It should be mentioned that the repair-man noted a few things that were done improperly during the installation which I was unaware of (seams not sealed, etc), and he fixed those, too. This may be why he did not charge me for repairing the problem my family caused with the floor. Either way, I was very impressed and grateful.
The carpet was installed by the same crew. Again, not overly impressed by the quality of work done by the installers, but that has been compensated for by the customer care.
The tile was installed by a different crew who was clean, efficient, and did quality work. I wish I had asked about tiling the baseboards, because it looks a bit strange  the way the tile butts up against my shortened baseboards, but that's due to my lack of experience. I also wish I had asked to see exactly what amount of tile I was charged for-the installers delivered about 3 times the number of boxes that were used, and removed the excess. I just wish, if I paid for those boxes, I could have kept them. I am not certain whether I paid for them, though. Food for thought for next time-I will get things itemized.
I would recommend Hardwood Floors and More to all of my friends. Can't say enough good things about the follow-up customer care.

We took a fair amount of time to decide who we would go with.  The installers came here planning to install everything in one day, and they did.  I think it took them a little longer than they expected, but I was incredibly impressed with the teamwork.  The only thing they didn't do was trim one of our doors.

Since we had used them last year in our living room and dining room and the work was very good, we contracted them again for this work. On 13 March the installers arrived around 9 am and stated that most of the crews were sick but they commenced to start the work. One new individual arrived and there was a discussion as to who would do our work and then the new arrival left along with one of the original crew. This left two men to do the work. They did not have a vacuum and asked to use my shop vacuum which I did. They then needed a broom so they left for lunch at about 11 am to get a broom and lunch. About 11:45 they returned and went back to work. Around 2-2:30 I asked how it was going since we had a dinner date at 7 pm and wanted to be sure we could make it. The installers stated that they would not complete the job since it was a six person task and that someone would have to finish tomorrow (Saturday). They cleaned up somewhat and left about 4 pm. We spent the next two hours cleaning and getting ready to go out. I had asked when the crew would get here on Saturday and was told about 9 am. At 7 am Saturday I got up, moved some furniture that we had reinstalled, moved the cars so they could access out garage (it was raining) and waited. When no one showed up at 10 am I called and asked where the crew was. About 20-30 minutes later the owner (Ray Lilly) called and said that a crew would be there right after lunch. I asked why they were not here at 9 and was told the individual spoke incorrectly. At 12:40 I called back and asked where the crew was. I was now told they were on their way. It's now 13:10 and still no crew. I stated that they would have to be done by 4 pm since we were going out and they would have no choice but to leave. I also asked why no one bothered to call in the first place. There was no clear response. I also asked why I was required do do all the calling and again no clear response. I asked why they did not reschedule when they knew they had a lot of personnel out sick. Again no response. I still have not seen a crew or heard from the company. You need to call ahead and ensure that they are ready to perform the work with a sufficient crew. They do not seem to be capable of calling and keeping the customer informed of problems and issues that may arise. Hold back payment until you are absolutely satisfied with their work and the job is complete. Be aware that if they split crews the job will most likely not be done on time and you need to plan far ahead to be flexible in your schedule since they don't appear to care if they make you change your plans.

In January, we wanted to have our living room and dining room changed from carpets to hardwood. After looking at a number of different companies we selected Hardwood Floors and More due to their price, and allowing us to take samples home for review and checking for appeal. They gave us a quote of price and date to start. They arrived on time and installed the floors after removing the old carpets and having to remove an added sub floor.
