Rainman Irrigation

If you are looking for a professional, trustworthy, knowledgeable, thorough, reasonably priced installer for your irrigation system, Rainman is the one to call. Mr. Drake and his partners are the real deal. No hidden fees, no cutting corners, no trying to razzle-dazzle you with mumble-speak, no scaremongering, fishing for additional work, no parading their credentials in defense against any questions or sign of reservations, no arrogance (yes, I’ve dealt with all of this in my journey). They do what they say they will do when they say they will do it. Mr. Drake and his team showed up at my house around 7:30am this morning and were gone by 10:45am. They built my system for my current needs with the stubbing for additional growth (I will be totally relandscaping my backyard, removing loathsome shrubbery and trees). They stand behind their work with a lifetime warranty. Who does that anymore? You’re doing something if you can get 3 to 5 years these days. Furthermore, if for any reason you have issues and need to reach them, you can call day or night and the number on the service sticker rings Mr. Drake’s home. You may wonder why I’m gushing on and on. This has been a two year (three summer) journey between trying to get quoted and toying with doing the job myself (glad I did not do that!). I’ve been dealing with flakes, no-shows, folks wanting 50% deposits, supposed “lengthy lead times”, you name it. I called Mr. Drake after doing what I always do, scouring home repair sites , google, yelp or what have you. I found him on Angie’s List and put in my information. Mr. Drake called me the next day on a Saturday . That was two Saturdays ago. This is Thursday July 5, not even two full weeks later. I now have a completely installed and running irrigation system. As long as I have or plan to ever install a system wherever I move, this is going to be my company.

Don was on time, eager to help educate me on all aspects of my system. He discovered that I didn't need most of what I thought I needed, and was upfront about that, which is comforting. We replaced one head that wasn't functioning as it needed to (needed a taller one), he tested my system, taught me how to program it, showed me the shutoff and talked with my about pressures, city ordinances and code, and gave me a lot of info I needed to run the system. Don is one of the best contractors/repairmen that I've come across: No nonsense, considerate and helpful. And I plan to keep using his company for winterizing and maintenance, and repairs if I need them.

The service could not have been better! They thoroughly checked the system and made the necessary repairs. After the repair they checked the system again to insure that it was functioning. They were extremely knowledgeable and professional. I would not hesitate to call them again for any irrigation needs. I will also be recommending them to family and friends!

We interviewed 3 contractors for the job. All were members of Angie's List. Don came by from Rainman and was by far the most professional of all the contractors we met. Even though we felt like Don would get the job from the very beginning, we wanted to give the other contractors a fair shot at getting our business. So, we finished up our meetings with the other contractors and both myself and my wife agreed we should go with Rainman. Don was just more professional and seemed more knowledgeable about the business than the others. Not to mention, his price was also the most competitive. Don explained how his company would handle the install, from start to finish. He also explained Rainman's lifetime warranty - which is transferable. Upon accepting Rainman's offer, Don and Jeff promptly replied, set a date and off we went. They showed up on time and finished the job in one day - as they had stated they would do. Once the system was installed, we spent at least an hour going over all the details, checking the coverage, adjusting sprinklers and teaching me how to use the control panel.

When Don and Jeff left our home at the end of the day, we felt like we had met two great people who we could call upon at any time if we ever needed further assistance.

Overall, I could not be happier.

We had an irrigation system for over ten years but we needed some work and we had some broken heads and stuff and one of our neighbors used some -- but they were very good. They were. Ety prompt and the came out and fixed what they needed to fix and checked the whole system out. They made good recommendations we thought we already knew. I thought the two heads were leaking, but it turned out not be the head. We had used another company before but it kept leaking and it turned out to be in the controller and the found that. Thay fixed them, did really good and they came out. Both of the owners came out and they worked together and just checked the rest of our system put but they had it supposedly repaired before with another company and it kept leaking. But it turned out to be the controller. It was constantly leaking. But they had to change the controller and its an older system, we will expected that but a lot of people came and could not find it and they found d it. They were very professional. Easy to work with. They found the problem and fixed the problem and cleaned up. They checked out the test of the system. Gave us a few little tips on how to do it. They prompt and responsive and professional.

Rainman arrived on time and worked quickly and efficiently. Made a couple small adjustments to one or two sprinkler heads. Don took the time to explain the system and exactly how much and when we should water. Set up the system for us and showed us how to adjust it if needed. Very professional and honest; we recommend them.

Don and Jeff came out as soon I called and did a fantastic job! The quickly came up with an estimate for the work I needed done and it was very reasonable. After we agreed to the price, they got right to work and finished quickly. Although I was thinking I needed to have more work done initially, they pointed out ways I could save by using more of my exsiting system. Professional, responsive, failrly priced and a great to have work on my yard. These guys are top notch!

My experience was positive and painless. They arrived promptly at the appointed date and time. They checked the system...controller and lines and sprinkler heads. Found two not functioning properly...cleaned one and replaced a broken one.
Don gave his professional recommendation on length and frequency of watering and why. He explained the varying needs of trees & shrubs, flowering material and the lawn given the type of soil we have.  So after asking a few questions to which he provided satisfactory answers, I agreed to the "new" water scheme.  He set the controller for the new scheme. The two-man team was courteous, knowledgable and very professional.
