 + -1 moreDwayne did the worst job ever. We have had to pay additional money to get his mess cleaned up. He bought inferior wood, installed underdecking that looks horrible and leaks. We had to get it ripped out and done properly. We had to have someone add gutters because he did not. We were new to town and he took full advantage. I wish we had taken him to court over this awful job.

 + 0 moreHe took the time to review my ideas, come up with a plan, and execute it quickly and efficiently. He doesn't waste any time, and is a very hard worker. Would recommend to anyone looking for any remodeling projects, or just per hour labor. Will work with you on any ideas you might have and find a way to make it complete.
Description of Work: Helped with some very customized construction of a theater room with very specific parameters to be met. Was very open to ideas, and had some very creative ways to solve some issues i was unsure about. He will be my future go-to construction guy, and have plans to finish under my deck later this year.

 + 1 moreIt was terrible. They did not complete all the work that was stated on the contract.They were still trying to charge me for something that was not complete. They added more stuff even before the initial work was complete. They lied to me. They said they completed the doors but did not do anything with the doors. Everything was incomplete. I went to court with them for negligence.
Description of Work: They were supposed to put up drywall, outlet doors and baseboards.

Description of Work: Dwayne from Blue Marlin Construction was one of the least professional contractors I have ever worked with. He had an attitude from the very beginning, and I should have asked for a refund. However, I was under time pressure to complete some projects prior to renting my home. Dwayne constantly cancelled planned dates for him to come work on the projects (1-2 days prior to the planned date), and then was not at all flexible in rescheduling. In fact, I had to give concessions to my new renter because Dwayne kept cancelling on me. He only worked on Saturdays that were convenient for him - not exactly what I'd expect in terms of customer service. After I became frustrated with his lack of flexibility - he was very rude to me via text and via phone, indicating it was MY problem that I needed my projects completed in a few weeks time. | |His work was okay quality, but I don't feel that I got a full 40 hours of work (per the voucher I bought) as no one was there to supervise & ensure he was there timely & putting in a full day. Also, the work performed on the last day was only half way completed with no communication about what he could not finish in the allotted time. I would NEVER recommend you use Blue Marlin for any projects you need completed around the house.

Although I couldn't afford the investment dollars needed to utilize his services and make a profit on my investment, otherwise, Dwayne certainly knows his work and product and he has a caring demeanor to make sure the project is done well.

 + 3 moreIt was great. He came last week and tried to get it all done that day but we ended up rescheduling for Saturday. He doesn't normally work on Saturdays but he wanted to make sure he got it done. He spent the whole day Saturday doing several things around the house. He is a very straightforward, trustworthy, friendly, super nice guy. He didn't try to upsell me even though I definitely needed to do somethings for my house. I will probably hire him for some other jobs in the future because he did a great job. I purchased the Big Deal and he reached out to me almost immediately through email. I spent more than the initial Big Deal price. It was not for labor but for materials and he provided receipts from Home Depot.
Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal from Blue Marlin Construction LLC. He did several things around my house. I have had some major water damage to my house, it has been repaired but I was still having water coming in through the front and back doors. There was some moisture coming in whenever it rained, he pointed out where the problems where and fixed that.

There were additional charges to do work beyond the 5 days. They built a walk in closet. There were two guys working on the closet for me. I will use their services in the future if I needed to. Actually I already have used them in another project.

 + 4 moreI had a great experience with Dwayne at Blue Marlin Construction. I had a list of little projects that needed to be done so I jumped on his deal with Angie's List. Dwayne was very easy to contact and schedule. He showed up on time (a little early actually!). I described the jobs I needed done on the phone so he brought the necessary tools with him. He fixed some trim in a bathroom, stabilized a vanity, custom cut and hung some doors, and replaced a drop ceiling in the basement. He left no mess. He was very personable and funny. I am glad he gave me his card because I will definitely be calling him again!!

Description of Work: Hired Dwayne to fix a rotted window frame on my screen porch. He did such a great job at a great price that I then had him fix some issues I was having with my roof. Again he did a great job and was very fair in his prices. I was happy with the work so I had him replace a number of old windows in my home with new vinyl windows and I also had him fix issues with my basement and then he installed a new wood floating floor. I would highly recommend Dwayne at Blue Marlin Construction. I am having him back this year to do some additional work for me.
