Plain and simple, go with Rick and 1st Rate Construction. As a homeowner, I HAVE struggled to find companies where the person that quotes the work, is the person that does the work. Rick is the owner-operator of his company and will be your point of contact/work the job. He removed lead paint windows and soffit/fascia for me, and some asbestos ductwork. All great work. Thanks Rick !

If I could give a 6th star, I would. Rick was a godsend for our projects. He is responsive, knowledgeable, resourceful, and goes above and beyond to make sure the outcome is perfect. His work is meticulous and his advice is always reasoned, measured, and 100% accurate. He's a nice guy and someone I trust implicitly. Specifically, he cut out sheetrock and mud due to asbestos issues and his cuts and containment were perfect. He even managed to save some of our tiles for future use! Additionally, he did some mold remediation in our crawl space and went above and beyond to clean up trash others had left behind. He's honest, fair, and worth every penny! Thanks, Rick!!

I d give 1st Rate Construction and Environmental Services a 6 star rating if it allowed me to do so! I discovered a major mold issue in my crawlspace. After researching for mold removal services, I saw the reviews for 1st Rate and decided to ask him to come to my house and give me a quote. Rick drove 2.5 hours to my house the next day, on a Saturday! He is very professional and prompt. The whole process was explained before hand, and in a few days, I had a quote, not just an estimate. Not one dollar above was agreed upon, no surprises. If he says he will be there, he is there. He definitely goes above and beyond. I wish all contractors were as honest and hard working as Rick is. The other reviews are spot on, not some paid-for reviews. He earned his 5 stars. I cannot day enough good things about him. I definitely recommend him without hesitation!

Very communicative, explained everything and did not do any unnecessary work. He was timely, and did some reconstruction needed and also tested afterward. He always tried to save us money and worked with our schedule. I would recommend him for just about anything.

He went above and beyond, he's so consciousness about everything and exceed everything that I though for a company of his nature. Probably the best I've ever had, I had a problem with 2 flooded bathrooms, his response was immediate and he even worked into this weekend . He started on a Friday and worked with the weekend. After he finished he came back out 2 days later to check on the job himself. he the best service /construction man I've had 40 years and I don't give recommendations out.

He walked us through every step of the process, making sure we understood what needed to be done and why. I felt very comfortable asking him questions and he was very open and forthcoming about what he found in our home. He also worked us in with very short notice, which I really appreciated. I would recommend this company to anybody! You will get your time and money's worth.
