I called Bob after finding him on Angie's List. He came right out that very afternoon and was going to give me an estimate, which I needed not only for my purposes but also for the insurance company. He was very friendly, assured me that there was no structural damage (which was important to me and I appreciated), and didn't charge me for the visit. But then he never got back to me with the estimate or any other follow-up. I called him two weeks later and he said he remembered me but he didn't have time to do my project. I told him I wished he could have at least let me know that so I wouldn't have kept waiting for him, but he didn't offer an apology or anything. Nice guy, and I can't rate how his work quality would have been, but I'm glad I didn't hire him.

R S Michael & Company is a one stop shop, from building a home from ground up to renovations and repir they can do it all! Everything went fantastic when working with this company , I would highly recommend R S Michael & Company!

My "project" was total restoration of my kitchen, dining room and bedroom below the kitchen as a result of water damage and flooding that traveled under the Brazilian Cherry hardwood floors and across the subfloor. No water appeared on the hardwoods in the kitchen or dining room and we were not aware of the flooding until the ceiling below the kitchen collapsed. The resulting damage became the basis for an insurance claim. As if the water didn't do enough damage, the water mitigation company sent in by my insurance company *against my specific directions not to* further damaged the custom kitchen cabinets while tearing out the hardwoods to dry out the subfloor. It was 67 days before my own insurance carrier would accept liability for the damage to the cabinets. They wanted me to file a claim with the water mitigation company direct. But this review is not about my insurance company and its wilful bad faith in failing to settle my claim. That's a whole other review! Bob Michaels of R.S. Michaels & Company was hired 90 days after the date of the flood to perform as the General Contractor for the restoration of my home. Without exception I will never use any other contractor except Bob Michaels for any future work. He is the model for a true "Southern Gentleman". Kind, polite, professional, courteous and gracious are his "personal" qualities. Astute, professional, hard-working, conscientious and right on top of all aspects of the construction phases are his "professional" qualities. The work was finally completed 130 days after the date of the flood and I am 110% happy with my new kitchen and the restoration of the other damaged parts of my home.
