Jerry Yun came out to give me and estimate and told me I needed siding instead nothing else was done and he kept my 1800.00 dollars. I demand a refund from him or Angies List or can pay for court fees because I will take him to court
Response from JNO Handyman Services & Painting
"[Member Name Removed] did not retrieve her money within a year. She simply forgot about the exterior painting deal she purchased for about one and half year. So when she called me about it, I offered to work on her house . she refused it and wanted her money back."

Jerry did a good job painting all interior walls in the condo. Arrived on time and did the job as promised. He was very nice and easy to work with. I have used him twice for the same work over the last few years. I am about to have him come back for a third time.

Jerry is a nice guy, however was ill prepared for this task and should have told me so upfront. Now I have to get another option to help finish the job! I realize that the job was difficult, however I feel he was not prepared as he did not attempt use a power saw at all-just a chisel (and even had to borrow my drill) to do as much as he could. Needless to say the job is still not complete-although paid him for his time/effort. Also, my wife did not appreciate that he scratched our wood floors in the kitchen as well. Not a good overall experience and sorry would not recommend him for any other jobs.
Response from JNO Handyman Services & Painting
"Customer is correct when he said that "the job was difficult." Since I relied on photos and customer's description of what he needed done I feel that I was prepared to get the work requested completed. Unfortunately customer did not realize that he misrepresented what was actually needed, however I was able to get the job done otherwise I am positive that I would not have been paid. Regarding the scratch on the wood floor, I would like to remind customer that he was the person who pulled the dishwasher straight out from the wall, I did put it back in place as I have done on many other jobs using the wheels in the back of the unit so as not to scratch the flooring. Therefore my work was definitely completed, customer was to then have the company where he purchased the dishwasher from do the instillation."

The contractor was both prompt and professional. The job was completed when agreed and I was satisfied with the price and the quality of work. I intend to hire him again for future work around the house and have no problem recommending him to my friends and colleagues.

Jerry did a great job with several areas of the ceilings that needed repairs. He was punctual, his work was professional, and he cleaned well after the job was done. Would hire again.

Jerry is the best and most dependable handyman I've had in the 14 years that I have a homeowner. Shows up on time, does what he says he will do and respects my home. I've had him do several projects over the past few months and his work is really good. He built a custom shoe closet for my very ridiculous shoe collection that all my friends wish they had. We are in the middle of a project now and as I need things, I will call Jerry.

If I could give Jerry 10 stars I would. He did an extensive exterior painting job and did it by hand! He's a true expert in his craft and has a great eye for attention to detail. I interviewed 3 other painters before selecting Jerry and am glad I went with him. Jerry told me upfront that he would treat this house like it was his and knew that could be a good selling technique but over time I could see he really meant it. As with many projects like this, things pop up. On our end we ended up needing to replace more siding than expected and he was very fair on the additional labor. Timing; we we're driving to a date and he made sure it was completed on time. In the end, his only concern was making sure we were completely satisfied with his work and we are. They house looks great and we look forward to working with Jerry in the future. ** If you're reading this review, you don't need to look any further. Just give Jerry a call. :)

Mr. Jerry (Yun) came on time, we decided on work to be done and had the contract signed with amount. I was asked to provide all raw materials which is fair to save his time. At the end of the day, Jerry says he was too tired to finish all the work and would have to come another day. When I called to schedule he says I have to pay for another full day as the contract is only a list and does not mean he will finish all of it for the contracted amount. I never had such an experience where contract is not binding and we have to pay for their physical inability to finish the job. VERY DISAPPOINTING!
Response from JNO Handyman Services & Painting
"It is not unusual for customers to present me with a wish list of things that they would like to have done. I verbally, and in writing made it clear that customer was paying $475 for 8 hours of work and as noted by customer, at the end of the day I let him know that in order to complete his list I would have to come back for at least another 6 hours and therefore have to pay for any additional time. He also made changes to his original list such as paint color which took more time to complete that project. I always strive to please my customers because I take pride in my work and I know that my success and reputation depends on it."

Mr Yun is very professional, very communicating, and does his work very well. In addition to painting, he did some repairs of the wall and the ceiling very neat finish. I actually hired him for more work than what I had Purchased originally. I was very pleased with his work. Anybody needs a Handyman? I definitely would recommend him.

Jerry takes pride in his work and listened to what we wanted. He would show up everyday with a can do attitude and made sure we were satisfied at each stage of the work. I would hire Jerry again, but I would clarify where his strengths and weaknesses are. I'd expect him to be upfront on what activities he could perform instead of agreeing to do a particular piece of the job and then back out when reality sets in on his capabilities.

Jerry was a little light on the communication before the job, apparently writing me a text regarding which day he intended to come out but failing to send it. However he was very gracious in rescheduling when we all became sick with cold/flu/crud. Jerry was very punctual, in fact arriving half an hour early (he said traffic was in his favor.) We had purchased an 8-hour block of Jerry's time and the priority of the work was to finish the painting of an upstairs 10x11 room--all that was needed was the molding, trim, and doors to be finished. Since I did not know how long that would take him but expecting it to not take the full 8 hours, I showed him a few of the other tasks on the miscellaneous things-around-the-house list that we needed done. Jerry then got to work on the painting. Jerry worked on the household tasks while waiting for the paint to dry for touch-ups. I was short an outlet and plate that needed to be replaced and in the end we also needed a light fixture to be replaced. He ended up making two separate runs to the hardware store in order to get parts--I really would have rather he had taken inventory of everything that needed to be picked up and made it all in one go. However, the first trip he did make while he was out to lunch so at least it was not a ton of extra time taken out of the work time. As a handyman, Jerry was great. He got through everything on our to-do list in addition to the painting. He told me exactly what he was doing, explained why he was doing it, and had me check everything as he finished it. He asked for my help when it made things more efficient (our breaker box is poorly labeled so helping him figure out which switch had cut off the sensor kept him from running up and down the stairs, which saved a lot of time and a lot of his energy.) As a painter, Jerry was not so great. When I checked his work after the touch-ups, everything looked really nice--the edging of the baseboards looked crisp, the crown molding looked well-done. However when I went to touch up my wall corners for the accent wall I had painted myself, I noticed that the edgings of the door and window frames where they met the wall were horribly done. The edges were not crisp, there was paint spillover to the wall in areas, and one edge near the corner of the wall had not been painted at all (yes, people will not see that edge in general, but I do consider it lazy.) I ended up doing touch-ups by hand to make the lines look more even and professional. Also, when Jerry first started working, I asked him to please be aware of the cats and dog when he was going in and out and to make sure that the doors stay shut so they don't get loose. He was good with the front door but in his running up and down into the basement for breakers, Jerry was not very good about shutting the door behind him. Thankfully none of the animals got into the garage but I did have to get up a number of times in order to shut the door myself (I have mobility issues so this was not only a frustration but also an extra physical exertion.) Jerry did not throw away the old fixtures and materials he had replaced, instead just piling them up in the upstairs painted room. I would consider hiring Jerry for handyman services again but I would not hire him for painting.
