Givens Quality Painting

I have been using this company for more than 10 years and they do a great job. Mr. Givens and his crews are very professional and their work is superb. I highly recommend this company.

Contracted with Larry Givens, owner, to paint front of my house. His contract provides for a 3 year guarantee on the paint and workmanship. I paid for 1/2 of job up front and then about 1/2 way through the project his painters disappeared. Repeated phone calls and emails were ignored until I threatened to have my attorney get involved. He immediately sent his people back to finish the job.
Within 6 months the paint was beginning to peel off of the wood. I started trying to contact Mr. Givens but he would not return a phone call or email. In late 2013 I finally got an appointment with him and he didn't show.. So throughout 2014 I continued trying to get him back. In August of 2015 I was finally able to reach him and set another appointment and again he does not show up. He is claiming that his guarantee is only good for 3 years, which would expire in April of 2016. I believe I have given Mr. Givens every opportunity to make good on his warranty and he has done nothing but refuse to show up for appointments, and claim that 3 years have some how past in the last  2 years. I have now turned this matter over to my attorney. I cannot recommend anyone use this company unless they have a good attorney.

I was very nervous about having paint drips on my new hardwood floors, and I am very obsessive about the slightest amount of 'mess' in my home.  Larry Givens' crew has done an amazing job.  They are careful and thorough, and as 'unobtrusive' as can be while working in my home.  They clean up every day before leaving, and always are courteous and polite.  The prep work was extremely thoughtful, in that they covered everything prior to beginning, and took the same care in their work as I would - they work in my home as they would in their own - with the utmost consideration and thoroughness.  There is not one spot of paint where it shouldn't be!  Larry is very responsive as well - all of the 'additional items' that come up while the work is in progress - things I forgot to include initially - are handled very quickly as the work progresses.  Finally, Larry has a great eye for colors, and made suggestions (all of which I took, and am THRILLED with) regarding colors, and has even made great recommendations on decorating ideas outside the scope of his team's work.  Larry has great vision for pulling a total look together, and could easily be an interior decorator!  I have been extremely pleased with the work Givens Quality Painting has done for me; Larry will always be my 'go-to guy' for painting and home improvement ideas!

Everything went well. There was one person here doing the work. Scheduling an appointment was fine. He was on time for the appointment. He had good clean up afterwards. They did not match the paint well so it is slightly off.

Everything went well.  The gentleman arrived on time, was very responsive and professional, and provided honest feedback about the situation which I appreciated.  Based on his advice, I decided to have all new windows installed rather than having him fix the wood around them.

I had a wonderful experience with them. They came when they said they were coming. They did more than what they had suggested and had no problem with doing the little extra touches. They were really great. I'd tell everyone to call them quick.

I ended up having to get their work remediated. The quality of the work itself (beyond the basic) was amateur. It was quite visible and they came back out two or three times to match the pattern on the ceiling and they just couldn't do it. We made an appointment for another Saturday and they just didn't show up. It seemed like I was put on his schedule as opposed to him being on my schedule. I sent them a text telling them not to come back out and that I would pay them for the work that they did do less the cost of how much it would take to fix the work. I ended the relationship. It just didn't go well at at all.

Larry and his crew did an excellent job.  From gently moving the furniture out of the way and keeping it covered, to  the quality of the painting, to working with me on moving my cats from room to room as needed, to be out of the way of the painting, to moving the furniture back in place.  They corrected many of the mistakes made by the last painter (who I will not mention).  They took great pains to do a QUALITY JOB and I am VERY PLEASED.  I would gladly recommend them to anyone.

Givens Quality Painting and Drywall services were phenomenal. Within a week of contacting them, I had a freshly renovated bathroom for a great price. The only thing that needs improvement is appointment punctuality, however, for the overall speed of the service and the cost made this was only a very minor concern. I am recommending them to everyone I know.

It was about 8-12 feet up.  They did a good job.  They were on time and courteous.

Mr. Givens was always on time for our appointments and was easy to work with.  His price for painting the interior of my home was fair.  His crew (Joseph and his son) started early every morning and stayed late.  They worked with great attention to detail and I felt very comfortable having them in my home.  They did a great job of patching -- there was a lot of that and they made the worked-on surfaces seamless.  They removed the wall plates around all the electrical outlets (instead of painting around them) and then replaced them when the paint was dry.  They had to move quite a bit of furniture to get clear access to all the walls and they always put a lot of plastic sheeting around to protect all the surfaces that weren't to be painted.  When they were finished they cleaned up so that the only evidence of their presence was a beautiful, beautiful, paint job.  Impeccable work!  I am so pleased with the outcome!

I had used Givens Quality Painting previously for wallpaper removal in the master bath and was very please with the results.  They arrived late one afternoon and immediatly began removing the wallpaper in the kitchen.  Prior to leaving for the day, they did a good job of cleaning up and leaving the kitchen usable.  The following day, they completed the wall paper removal and began the process of repairing the drywall.  The lead man is excellent at repairing the drywall.  The following day, they completed the repairs, primed the walls with Kilz and applied 2 coats of paint.  The two men that did the job were very pleasant, worked hard and did a good job of cleaning up when they were completed.  The walls look great with no hint of wallpaper or the damamge it can leave when it is removed.   They also did a good job in hanging plastic sheeting every day to help keep the drywall dust off of the cabinets and counter tops as much as possible.

Excellent job.  Great attention to detail and a very high quality job. 

I got this company from Angie's List and they did a nice job. The guy that came out was really good  They painted 2 bedrooms, a living room, a dining room and a kitchen. They also do the front and back door.

I was very please with the paint job done by Alfredo and another young man.  They were very careful and meticulous. Everything they painted looks so much better than the rest of the house.  Larry was very easy to work with.  I look forward to calling him again in the future.

Givens spent two days in March and one day in May working on our home.  The first day they removed two layers of wallpaper and repaired the sheetrock in the kitchen.  They allowed a couple of days for the walls to be completely dry because they had to use a lot of wallpaper removal solution.  The first layer of wallpaper had been up 30 years and had a primer cover it before the second wallpaper was installed many years later .  The second day they painted the kitchen including the vaulted ceiling.  They came back again for the final coat of paint in the kitchen and the other work after the kitchen remodel was complete in May.
 
We had two different teams work on our house.  Both teams were very quiet and very neat.  A lot of attention to detail.  One of the painters actually recognized and brought to my attention that the paint I gave him for one area was a shade lighter of the same color than the rest of the wall.  I had given him the wrong can of paint.   He took great care to blend the new area of paint with the old so it is not noticeable.
 

I was very pleased with the result.  The quality was great, price was fair, and completed in a timely fashion.

Mr. Givens came out to my house and provided me with an estimate.  He was on-time, professional, and gave me additional/alternate ideas for the work to be done.  I selected his company for the job, and he arrived with his crew on the first day to get them started.  Everyone was on time, and worked hard for three days.  The crew finished late on Thursday evening.  When I saw the finished paint in the daylight the following day, I was not happy with the coverage, although the patching they did was flawless.  When Mr. Givens called on Friday to follow up with me on the job and see if I was satisfied, I told him that I was not.  He returned to my house with the crew the following day (yes, Saturday), with a different type of paint.  They went over everything again that day.  It now looks great, and I am very pleased with everything that was done.  I was very pleasantly surprised that they came back on the weekend to make me happy.l

I've used Givens before for interior painting. Givens has a good and stable crew...polite and honest. Mr. Givens is not effervescent, but he gets the job done. I recommend him.

It was a fair estimate. He was pretty nice and did quality work. He was very responsive. I would definitely use him again.

This was an excellent experience.  Larry Givens, the owner, called me promptly and came to my home within 24 hours to give me an estimate.  Since they were just finishing a job in the area, he was able to start on my home the following day.  Mr. Givens had two very capable gentlemen do the work in my  home.  My master bath had wallpaper that had previously been painted over.  Because of this, it was  most difficult to remove.  However, in the areas where the wallpaper could not be removed, they were able to mud over any seams and then sand the area.  This was very difficult work and the room looks great!  His two employees arrived each day about 8:30 in the morning and worked until 7:00 at night.  They were finished in 3 days and cleaned up very nicely.  I am extremely pleased with their work and would recommend them highly.

Working with Larry Givens and his employees was a pleasure.  Larry and his employees showed up on time.  The 2 employees went right to work.  They did an excellent job in protecting and covering the tub, shower, vanity and floor prior to beginning the work.  After removal of the wallpaper, the walls needed a good amount of repair.  Even though the entire job took longer than expected, I never got the impression that they were trying to hurry.  They seemed very interested in doing a quality job regardless of how long it took.  They were meticulous in their patching of the sheetrock.  I tend to be a perfectionist and even when I thought it looked good, they would work some more on smoothing out the sheetrock.  When they were finished, they did an excellent job in cleaning the entire bathroom.  Both my wife and I were very impressed at how they left the bathroom.  I plan on using them again for some more wallpaper removal and I would definately recommend them.

Larry gave me a fair quote which included the paint. Larry and his painters were courteous and professional the entire time they were in my home. Larry checked up on the me and came out to site regularly just as he said he would. His painters took their time and used care around my furniture and floors.They did an excellent job painting, removing the wallpaper and doing the dry wall repair. I am very satisfied with the services I received and I will be using Givens Painting again in the very near future.
