Duluth Animal Hospital

As unfortunate a circumstance as having my partner in crime being put to sleep after 11 years this facility really provided all the accommodations to make it as painless as is possible. Dr. Miller was so sympathetic and allowed me to have Henry put down outside instead of in a cold unfamiliar room. They set up blankets outside within view of the railroad tracks underneath a tree and provided blankets. I met Dr. Miller outside after he gave me and my sweet puppers some time alone before the euthanasia. When he came out it was just the doctor, myself, and my best friend, which was my preference. All of the staff expressed their condolences and aided me while I completely balled my eyes out. When it was done I truly felt this was the best case scenario for Henry who had developed a bad bout of lung cancer. I truly owe the peace in my heart today to these folks at Duluth Animal Hospital. To add, they also did not charge me an arm and a leg. I also have brought Henry's brother Lennon (Great Dane) to this facility for a severe allergic reaction and they handled him well too. I'll definitely continue to use this hospital for all my current and future dog's needs. Thank you guys so much, especially Dr. Miller. Please do not hesitate if you have been burned by previous Vets like myself. Your fur family deserves good care and DAH is one you can trust.

I've been with them for 5 years. They were pretty good. The prices are good. They are doing safety precautions because of the Covid and that was great.

We love the place. They're a great place. We have nothing bad to say.

We have used them for about 14 years now, and would recommend them. They are real personable, and all the doctors here are good. I really like Dr. Higgins. The quality is excellent, and they give follow up calls. The atmosphere is very welcoming as well.

They are real good. I have used them a couple of times. Vet prices are always up there but they are real good. I would say for the experience as far as prices are concerned, what I've always paid before and what I pay now, I would say they are an A.

We have two dogs, a lab mix and a husky mix that we have been bringing here for 5 years now.  All the providers have been very good and calming with both our dogs who get extreme anxiety being at the vet.  We've rarely had to wait past our appointment time and if we did, it wasn't more than a few minutes.  The doctors listen to our concerns and explain what/why we're seeing those symptoms.  They run tests when needed, but I haven't encountered the "up sell".  I've not had any issues with scheduling appointments and when I needed to get my husky in for a bite, they fit me right in.  Dr. Miller and Dr. Diehl have been great with our two furkids.
March 2015 - lab had a spot on his groin area Dr. Diehl was concerned about and had it removed. Turned out benign.  We had his teeth cleaned while he was under anesthesia for the lump removal.  He's all healed and you have to look close to even see the scar.
May 2015 - My husky mix just had the TTA surgery for her ACL (knee) and we are 2.5 weeks post op now.  So far, so good.  Dr. Diehl performed the surgery and has been great at answering questions when needed.

They are excellent.  They are very good and their staff is good.  We use to take our dogs to them but now we take our grand dogs to them.   Whenever our grand dogs need a checkup we take them.  Through the years we've had dogs with serious problems and they have gone above and beyond to counsel us and help us.  They do knee surgery and different kinds of things.  We bought a kind of medicine which we use to give every month but we had to only give it once a year.  I trust their judgment.  They have a dog in the office area.  With serious problems five or six years ago we could have taken our dog to University Georgia but we didn't.  They knew our dog was eight years old and so they fixed our labs needs more reasonably priced and took it to University of Georgia.  We can call them and somebody is always on call if we need them when there is a problem.

We can not thank our vet Dr. Corby Holson enough.  Our dog had what we thought was a little nothing cyst, 7 months before according to his old vet.  Dr. Holson who clearly has a "sixth" sense about these things insisted that she do a little needle biopsy and said she would not even charge me but wanted to satisfy her own curiosity.  Low and behold the biopsy was a mast cell tumor and was cancerous.  To say I was devastated would be an understatement as this dog is so healthy, home fed with only the best organic meats and vegetables.  She literally had tears in her eyes describing all the potential levels of care plus surgery that would be required.  As talented as a vet and surgeon that she is, she wanted to refer us out to a group that specialized in oncology and these types of surgeries.  Dolce was operated on last week by this group, came back with totally clean margins on his pathology report and his healing beautifully.  This should hopefully be the end of all of this and other than frequently checking his body out for any other noticeable lumps and perhaps an annual body ultra sound, we expect Dolce will be around for a long time.  I highly recommend this incredible veterinarian group, their incredible care and compassion, and Dr. Holson will always by my hero!!!

Excellent office and excellent veterinarian. My cat was very well taken care of and not stressed.

In June we welcomed a new puppy into our lives.  Since we had not had a dog since living in Gwinnett County we found ourselves in the market for a veterinarian.  Thanks to Angie's list we stumbled upon Duluth Animal Hospital.  What a find!  Dr Miller spent a lot of extra time with both us and our puppy to ensure our puppy felt secure and we had all our questions answered.  Needless to say, we have stayed with Duluth Animal Hospital.  Our dog has had 3 additional visits and with each visit we have been treated as though we were the only clients in the facility.  Every staff member has been great!  We were even lucky enough to meat Roo and Penny Chicken on one of our Saturday visits.

We have been bringing our dogs to Duluth Animal Hospital for the past year and are very happy with them. We have almost never had to wait long and the staff are always very friendly and helpful. On a few occasions we had emergencies and they were able to fit us in with no appointment. During one of these emergencies one of the doctors stayed past normal business hours to see our dog, who had bloody stool.  This is a big deal to us because at our previous vet, if we did not have an appointment, they usually could not fit us in, even in one case where our dog would not stop vomiting. The vets and staff here really care about their clients.

I have had dogs for a long time, and I have never been to a facility that I liked as much, and I feel comfortable with all the veterinerians there. They are just amazing. They love the animals, and treat them with respect, and the utmost kindness. We are going back there on the 31st of this month.

I have been taking my animals to Duluth for 16 years and to the same vet at that location for probably the past 3-4 years.  I have total confidence in them.  They clearly LOVE the animals and treat them and me well.

It went good.  The doctor gave me a discount.  They were really accommodating and nice.

I have gone to other vets and they are not what I want for my dog. I like Dr. Miller's style when working with my dog. He really cares about them and they feel comfortable with him. He spends time with me so I understand the problems. Yesterday when my dog had surgery he came out and met with me and her first and was very thorough in regards to what was going to be done.

The visit went very well. The care they gave to my dog was excellent, and  I feel safe taking my dog to them for future care.

They are highly qualified, very professional, and excellent.  I will continue using them in the future.

Professional and friendly staff with a nice Doctor.  They provided me with options and then called back to leave a message that blood tests were okay.  Later I had to take the dogs to a groomer and wanted copies of the rabies vaccines faxed out to the groomers.  The staff informed me that they could not fax right away but could email me a copy as soon as they could get their hands on the file.  This was at 3 PM and it was done by 4 PM. I appreciated that they tried and did so quickly.  They also trimmed my dog's nails for free while my old animal hospital used to charge me for it. I will continue to use their services.

We adopted our dog 2 years ago and have used one vet for his primary care but they have been increasingly disorganized so I searched on Angies List for other Vets close to the Dunwoody area where people were consistently pleased with the Vets services. So I selected Duluth - they are polite on the phone, very professional, and you actually get a scheduled appointment - you don't have to leave your pet at the vets all day, and the Vets are punctual with their appointments! The office staff seems very organized and pleasant, the Vet Techs seem quite skilled at engaging the pets. The Vet was very kind and interacted so nicely with my dog, the Vet was very knowledgeable about my dogs disorder and made some recommendations which have proven to be quite helpful. I appreciate how intelligent the Vets are and how they take time to ask questions and communicate. I highly recommend this practice.

The telephone staff sympathized even while making this appointment, reminding us of our dog's longevity and the generally fine quality of life he had enjoyed. They made payment arrangements over the phone, so that nothing would delay us in the lobby when we arrived. As anyone would wish once having made the hard decision to call for euthanasia, they granted us an appointment within an hour. When we arrived, we were immediately moved into a private room. The vet spoke with us briefly about our decision and confirmed that it sounded like a reasonable and rational decision, albeit a sad one. She took our old fellow into the back to insert a catheter in his leg to administer medication, then inquired whether we wanted to stay during the procedure or not. They offered to allow us additional time to interact with him after inserting the catheter, but we'd already spent the weekend saying farewell and didn't wish to linger. The tech brought in a nice blanket for him to lie on, and allowed us to choose whether he'd be more comfortable on the floor or on the elevated treatment table. They administered a sedative to calm him and actually cause him to fall asleep before administering the meds to stop his heart. They spoke very quietly and gently to him throughout the process and were extremely kind to us as well. After we'd returned home, they called to tell us that they had made an impression of his foot for us as a keepsake. I will be returning to pick that up later this week. Overall, they made this horrible time as easy as it could be for us. Even when you know it's the right decision, it's never an easy one and the Duluth Animal Hospital staff has empathy for both pets and owners in this situation.
