Manicures/Nails
$40
Before going to the beach for spring break I wanted to get a manicure and a pedicure. I looked online for salons close to my home. I chose Diamond Nails based on a few reviews on another website. The salon was very busy when I arrived but they had a chair open. They told me to choose a nail color and then go to chair 6. I had several colors and was slow to choose. They said "take your time". I chose a couple different colors of red to sample. When I went to chair 6, they were seating someone else. The lady said to me "you took too long so we gave your chair", sit here. She pointed to chair 8. The woman doing my pedicure and manicure did not speak English very well, but that was fine, I'm not fond of chit chat anyway. She started doing my pedicure and was working so fast, I hardly had time to relax. She rubbed lotion on my legs and feet, but no massage. She finished the pedicure while other customers who had been in their chairs before I arrived were still getting foot massages. The polish on my toe nails was uneven and all over my cuticles. It was a mess. I do better myself. She started my manicure when I asked for the manager. She immediately asked "what's wrong". I told her I was not happy with the quality of her work. The manager looked at my toe nails, spoke in their native language and another young woman took over. She had to completely redo the pedicure. When I left, the manager never said a word to me. No apology, nothing. I said I would not be back and left. I think they have so many customers they don't care if they lose a few. I was so disappointed since I only go to a salon a few times a year. Unless you know the name of a specific technician, I would not go there as a walk-in. If the manager or the technician had shown some concern about my dissatisfaction, I probably would have given them a second chance and simply avoided this one technician. But, not only did they made me feel uncomfortable for complaining, they made absolutely no effort to retain me as a customer.

They are friendly and efficient. All of the nail techs do not speak English very well, but they do try to engage with you as much as they can. Kim is in charge of the salon and she makes me feel welcome everytime. Appointments are not necessary, walkins are welcome, but I always call ahead. They are open 7 days a week, which makes scheduling very easy. Hours are Monday- Saturday 9:30am-6pm and Sunday 12-6pm. The salon is always fairly busy because they do a great job. They are very careful and use clean/sanitary equipment. My nails alwasy turn out looking perfect and they seem to last long.
