I purchased a home, and the seller had hired Structural Fix to perform some work a few years prior to transaction. I had questions and they came out, inspected the property, and didn't even try to sell me anything. Highly recommend!

Wonderful! The rotten wood was discovered during the demolition for two bathroom remodels. Once discovered the bath remodeling contractor was not equipped to repair the underlying structural damage. A local engineer highly recommended Jeff Hall and Southern Contracting, who promptly came out to assess the extent of the damage that had likely been there for decades hidden behind the walls that were now exposed. He designed a rebuild of the bathroom stack (1st & 2nd floor) to include wall plates, flooring and ceiling structures. He assigned the construction work to a very experienced superintendent, Jeff who has been with the company for 7-years. He came with a crew of three men (Dev, Hunter and Andy). First and foremost, they did a great job! The structure is now stronger than when the property was built in 1929. Plus they were all very polite and very considerate of us as they performed the work. They put paper down on the floors to minimize the mess as they came in and out and also cleaned up well afterwards. It was a really good experience from the first call to their office all the way to the finish. I would highly recommend Southern Contracting.

Jeff's team did a great job. He came out initially to get it started an introduce me to his team. Brandon, the job foreman, Blake and Junior were the core team, and they were joined by specialists over the 5 days of the project. Brandon and Blake did a great job of keeping me updated on progress and managing my wife's & my expectations. I worked at home each day, and they did not seem to mind me popping in unannounced to see what they were doing or to ask questions. Brandon & Blake were always respectful of my opinions and never argued. They would respond honestly to my questions, make recommendations, and always offered to have Jeff come back out and speak with me if needed (it was not needed). they never responded about anything I asked being in the scope of work of the project, which I appreciated. they cleaned up after themselves and I felt very comfortable with them having free access to our house. they only went to areas where they were working and rarely asked for anything. We got 4 different proposals and felt Jeff's was the most comprehensive and the best price. His company came recommended by the structural engineer we hired, and we were very pleased with the work and felt we got a fair price.

In searching around Atlanta area for an engineer to evaluate the structural changes needed for a remodel, I came across Southern Contracting. With numerous excellent reviews and high ratings from prior jobs I had to reach out. The turnaround for the initial appointment was quick. Jeff arrived and we walked thru the parameters of the remodel and what it would take to achieve it, the kickoff being that the support posts in my basement needed to be moved, but the span difference would require a different type of support, being as it is on the spine of my ranch home. The estimate arrived within days & was comfortable enough to my budget that I agreed to begin. Even with the schedule being a couple weeks out, contact was made by Southern Contracting several times to assure and remind me of the work to come. The team arrived on schedule and set to work installing a metal I-beam system and metal support posts (formerly 4x4 wood) that would allow our remodel to be what we dreamed of. Though scheduled for several days to complete, Jeff's team worked diligently & professionally to finish the job in one full day. Some metal work had to be done on site, but the guys spent nearly an hour after completion making sure that no shavings were left behind, no matter how teeny. Payment due upon completion & satisfaction, I was happy to pass along the funds. Jeff & Debra followed up several times to ensure not only my family, but the house was comfortable with the new support system. as an additional note : Southern Contracting was one of the few companies that returned my call, was one of two that actually came to the house, was the most informative, friendliest and was the only one under $10,000

Jeff and his team did a great job fixing up the flooring issues on our home. The staff was punctual, professional and courteous. After completion the project manager Devin was happy to walk me through the entire project pointing out all of the repairs to certify a job well done. The work also came with a 10 year warranty which gives us a piece of mind that the team stands by their work. All said and done the whole project took three and a half days to complete. I simply cannot recommend them enough- great job all around.

I wish you had a rating above A because these folks would qualify! The quote was reasonable compared to others we received. They were prompt, courteous, and very professional. Work was completed in one day and the floor is steady and level as promised. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone with structural problems. Jeff and Randy, as well as their team of professionals did an excellent job in first scoping out the amount of work and what needed to be done. They gave me what I thought was the most feasible and common since way of making the repairs under my home. I had bad sagging and bounciness to my floor, and needed a professional, who would do the job right, on time, and on budget. I also wanted to get rid of the wall in which supported my above floor. These guys went to work and disassembled the old wall, along with wrapping electrical wiring within the wall, as well as alarm system wiring for my electrician to perform his work in the future. They also had to work with my plumbing to separate for new beam. Their team arrived when they said they would, and did not mess with any of my belongings along the way, they actually assisted in moving my belongings out of the way for installation of the posts and beam. I did the resarsch and called a couple other companies in the same business. While each company had a different solution to fix the problem, Jeff and Randy really made more since than the other contractors with regards to their engineering process. If you are looking for a reliable contractor for your foundation issues, look no further!! Give these guys a call before you decide upon which foundation company you will use.

I am very pleased. Jeff and Randy and their crew installed a pile driven pier under the brick column. Digging revealed that there was no foundation under the brick column. Randy warned me that the brick might crack when they attempted to life it (which it did). They then filled the hole with concrete, returned the next day and lifted the column to its exact correct location (as seen with a level in two directions). Jeff repaired the floor joists.
Jeff and Randy were very great to work with - great communication, accurate assessment of the problem, and the right approach to fix it. I had two other and quot;foundationand quot; companies look at the job and either choose not to bid or come in with estimates that were considerably higher. Jeff told me that all their work is referral (they don't advertise) and I can see why! If you have a problem at all like what I've described, give them a call!

We had issues with the hardwood floor in front of our oven because it squeaked loudly. When we had the floor refinished we asked the re finishers to fix the squeaks. They tore up good hardwood floor all over the kitchen and were supposed to have put screws into the sub floor. They ended up charging us extra because they tore up hardwood all the way into the next room and even though we had only asked them to fix the squeaks in the kitchen they insisted that we owed them even more money. After that frustrating experience the floor in front of the oven began to squeak loudly once again. We were afraid to call anyone else for fear of the cost and the mess that we might have. I found Jeff Hall on Angie's list and we gave him a try. He came out on time for the estimate and told me that he could put some wedges in the floor and glue them and that the squeak would be gone. We initially though he would have to tear out the finished ceiling below the squeaks but he was able to get to it from the unfinished part of the basement resulting in less cost than he had estimated. We were thrilled that he fixed the problem so fast and the squeak is FINALLY gone!! Every time I step into the kitchen I am happy that Jeff fixed those annoying squeaks!!

Mr Hall came and looked at problem and explained what he planned to do. We agreed upon a price and the work was started on time. Mr. Hall arrived with a helper and they put many bags of Quikkrete into hole. He then placed a vibrator in hole and settled concrete so no bubbles remained and added more as level dropped. He also noticed we had some smaller voids under the brick steps and filled those at no additional charge. I was highly pleased with the work done and our house is now stable.

Mr Hall arrived with his helper and set to work the very next day. He did a superb job checking levels and making sure nothing else happened. He filled all the voids he found and did a spectacular job of cleaning up ( he even removed some leaves on walkway so he could be sure nothing had moved or cracked.
He found two more small voids under the steps and the walkway ( the original one was large enough to hide a child)
the price stayed at $800 and he and his helper left my front yard cleaner than it had been.
Mr Hall also showed me some cracks in wall and foundation that he said were ok if not causing inside problems, he explained one corner of house had settled more than rest.
I was very satisfied with the job he did as he went above and beyond normal service. If I ever have anything go wrong again I will always call him back. I can recommend him highly to anyone who needs services he provides.

I purchased this home knowing the floors were and quot;spongyand quot; because I fell in love with the floor plan and the neighborhood. After a few short weeks, I knew the issue needed to be addressed since my dogs walking through the house caused furniture to shift enough as to be audible. After speaking with my engineer and receiving a repair plan from him, I began to contact companies. The 'big name' outfits sent out salesman after salesman. One told me that they could not follow my engineer's plan because it violated city code so I phoned the Atlanta code office and learned this salesman was uninformed at best and deceitful at worst. Each of these salesmen talked the same line and as usual because I am 'just a girl', talked down to me. Each and every 'Big' company proposed the final price to be over 20k. (Hint: these are the companies that do all the advertising.)
Enter Jeff Hall. He is not a salesman but the company owner and is a very hands-on owner. We hit it off immediately and his price was a shock in comparison to the other bids received. The engineer had specified stacked concrete blocks for pier supports (what the previous salesman declared violated city code) and we agreed they could be used where possible but he would pour base blocks where he felt they would be better suited. We scheduled the work to begin on Wednesday, June 13. I arranged to be at home that Thursday and Friday and was quite impressed by the crew's professionalism and the long hours they put into the project. They added two steel I-beam girders front to back where no support existed and enough piers to lift the floor gently for an amazing result. I was fully expecting some sheetrock damage from lifting the walls and braced myself for cracking floor tiles in the bathroom that had endured the most settling. There was absolutely NO damage of any kind.
After this experience, I have renewed faith that there are contractors that do an excellent job for a reasonable cost. It was a real delight working with Jeff and I would suggest anyone with a foundation issue speak with him. Another thing about Jeff is that he talks *with* people rather than *to* them which you rarely find in business today. Call Jeff - you will be glad you did!
