This job went poorly from the start. It did not start when planned. I never got a formal contract and that was my error. We had days when workers did not show up at all and some days with only one worker. The owner, Jared Dean, only popped in for short periods and was not there to supervise the workers. There were changes in the original plan every day when we came home from work. By this time the project was half done, we had over $10,000 invested, the yard was looked like a bomb had gone off and truthfully, we felt held hostage by the situation and did not know what to do but try to humor the contractor and pray. After 2 months of work during the severe drought in the fall of 2016, the job was pronounced overbudget and "done". We had damage to the house from heavy equipment, damage to our trees which he promised to work around cable lines cut and cut again, utilities that he said were marked but turned out to be in a most inconvenient middle of the larger wall that he had to work around, He promised repeatedly that he would come back when it finally rained to fix any problems and he did once but bigger and bigger problems surfaced and POOF, he was not taking my calls. I have deadman beams that are not covered with earth or gravel, the wall is crooked and shifting, the parking was not where it was supposed to be and way larger than requested. It is what it is. Don't make the same mistake I did. Get a contract. Insist on paying with a credit card that will back you up. And don't use Jared Dean of Ace Grading

Having no access to our back yard I was looking for someone to build a stairway down a very steep hillside.  Out of three contractors, Jared Dean is the only one to actually show up when he promised and the only one to provide a written estimate of the work to be performed.  What I especially appreciated was his suggestion of not doing steps but instead cutting in a walkway diagonally across the hill, making access to the bottom much easier and safer.
The walkway is approximately 35 feet long, 3 1/2 feet wide,  and is supported on the outside by two layers of railroad ties secured into the ground with rebar.  Initially we decided to leave the upside of the walkway alone; however, after one heavy rainfall there was some erosion so Jared and his men returned to place a double layer of raillroad ties on the upside of the walkway.
The filler for the walkway is comprised of large gravel stones.  They do not move during a heavy rain and I am more than completely satisfied and happy with the completed project.
The original neighbor to the right of my home had no problem with me going down a short path between our homes, the path being on his property.  Two years ago the home was sold and the new neighbor had a different idea.  Now, I am free to walk up and down the hill whenever I wish and that makes me happy.  I should mention that at the bottom of the hill there is a substantial area that becomes overgrown with weeds and I have always kept it mowed short.  That job was eliminated by the restriction I mentioned earlier.  Now I have easy access and can keep the back neat a beautiful.

The job took about 7 hours for the owner and his team of 3 men.

The overall job went well and with the owner's help we made three design changes which helped the utility and looks of the final project.

The work was excellent and the crew (same 3 people as well as Mr. Dean) were on site everyday. The crew was exceptional, experienced, and very thorough. Mr. Dean offered ideas and suggestions as well as listened to what we were asking for. Some of our ideas were expensive and he offered cost-saving alternatives as well as honestly told us what we didn't need.

I have a long horse shoe shaped driveway that was in need of repair. I had places where there was no longer any rock and one low area that after every rain storm collected water. Deliveries by truck were beginning to cause issues with the integrity of several areas. Additionally, I have a pole barn that never had a driveway going out to it. Jared and his team scraped and graded the entire driveway and added the appropriate amount of rock and and quot;crush and runand quot;. Additionaly, in the one low area his team placed material under the rock to suppress the dirt from coming up. There has been 2 very heavy rainstorms since the work was done and there is no more accumulation of water in that area. I am very pleased with the work that was done and by the projessionalism of Jared, and his workers. I would highly recommend Jared for any land grading work you may need.

Moved into a newly built house in 2008. Builder did not complete the grading job on the areas surrounding our house. The backyard was not that severe and we planted grass several times until it grew. The front yard was another story. The slopes were slowly eroding due to rain water. Called several landscape people and scheduled them to come out and give us their opinion and a solution. No one ever showed up. Called Jared at Ace Grading and took a chance that he would come out. He was out here almost the next day and gave us great, inexpensive ideas on how we could solve our problem without having extensive work done. The options Jared gave us allowed us to decide how extensive and how much work we wanted done. After we decided what we wanted, Jared gave us a date and time he would be out to the house to get the job done. He and his crew came out on the scheduled day and graded the area, removed some rocks and installed Bermuda sod. It looked beautiful and did the job. The erosion stopped and the sod looks great. Jared and his crew were very polite, respectful and neat in the manner in which they handled our job. Jared is currently doing a large job for my daughter and son-in-law who live next door. We are very happy we found Ace Grading so we can have our landscape and other grading problems handled professionally and right, at a reasonable price.

Jared Dean (Ace Grading) came out with his crew, gave us an excellent price, in addition to some very practical ideas that were not very costly, and performed the work in a few days. Jared and his crew will be coming back again to do some additional work when we decide what route we want to take with the back yard. The result in the front was awesome. He planted Bermuda sod after he graded the area the way it was supposed to be done in the first place. We are very happy with his work and have referred him to our family. Jared has a keen sense of what has to be done with problem areas and offers quite a few solutions with your budget in mind. He is friendly and his staff is very polite and conscientious. We are pleased to refer Ace Grading to anyone who is interested in quality work without spending a fortune.

We called in Ace and they gave us some great ideas to make the yard more pleasing to the eye without spending a fortune. Ace also gave me some great ideas that we could implement when we had more finances to do it
Jarred Dean, from Ace Grading and Landscaping, came out, looked over our job and was out a week later to do it. The work was phenomenally good. We couldn't believe how it turned out. The house looks totally different and it is so much more manageable. Where we had lumpy hills and steep inclines which were eroding from the rain, we now have a smooth slope suitable for planting grass and anything else we want to plant. I highly recommend this company, you will get top quality workmanship for a decent price.
