Quick Easy Movers

In hindsight there were things that I should have been more aware of. When we made the arrangement for them to come the manager or owner George did not come to my house; we just spoke on the phone. Based on that and what I told him about the size of my home and the amount of furniture we had was how he made his bid to me. He did not do an onsite inspection. When they arrived on the day of the move, they had a rental truck and two movers. The move went well enough but the truck was not big enough for all of our stuff. It was an hourly payment thing so they filled up the truck as much as they could and brought it over and emptied it. It was 6 pm and they said they could go back and get the rest of our stuff and we were done with moving at that point. It seemed like it was almost a racket and I did not get a good feeling. I didn't like the way George spoke to the people he had hired to move us. I wasn't confident of their experience as far as being movers. A couple of things were damaged. They broke a window in the front door and an outdoor bench and other minor things. I followed up with them and he said to send the bill for getting the window repaired. I never heard back and left messages. My husband followed up a few weeks later and he said that his fax machine wasn't working and then he said that he was not going to pay. I learned an important lesson about getting a visual quote. The workers were good and quick. They worked really hard. George was the problem and I would definitely not use them again. The price was good and we got what we paid for.

They showed up in a Budget rent-a-truck and they arrived late in the day. They also arrived late in Citrus Springs. I was originally told that there wasn't any more room on the truck so they wouldn't be picking up any more loads, but they apparently had picked up another load on the way which caused them to be late. They asked for payment before they unloaded the truck, and I asked them "what happens if there is any damage?" but they still wanted payment before I was able to look at any of my things. They unloaded the truck and I noticed that the top of my armoire had come off and that there was a scratch on top. He then told me it would have happened no matter who had moved us, despite the fact that I have moved it several times with no problems. A wheel had also come off of an antique tea cart and they told me they had put it in a droor somewhere. After this, they left so quickly that they left their moving blankets in our garage. They had also taken a bolt off the bed to hold an antique lampshade togetehr as well. I have called them several times and left messages with a supervisor but they are giving me the runaround and will not return my calls or answer my questions. They also claimed that we were $700 over the weight alottment, and I have requested a copy of the weight statement, but they have refused to provide this.
