Both times, while the quality of his work is decent and his prices reasonable, his punctuality was abysmal. 
The last interaction with him has ensured that I will not contact him again.
We needed to replace five door frame kits in our home. We spoke (he actually came over and verified that the order would be correct, but missed the first appointment, which should have been my first clue) and arranged for him to do the removal of the existing casings and replace with the new casings and door kits. 
After ordering and having doors delivered to my home for him to replaced, he never showed up. I called a half-hour after he missed our agreed appointment time (set three days previously) and his assistant answered.  
When I asked where they were, he replied that they were "running errands" and Steve would call me when they got to a stopping point. No call back. Ever. It saddens me, as his work was fine, but I can't rely on him. 
I now have five doors taking up space in my home and am now searching for help that will show up through Angie's List.

While doing some yard work on a Saturday, I noticed that I had an outdoor faucet leaking rapidly. When I tried to shut it off from the inside, that valve started leaking as well. I called several places trying to find someone who could provide service on a Saturday. I finally reached Steve at The Decatur Handyman. I explained the situation to him, and he said he'd be over as soon as he finished up the job he was working on, giving me an estimate of about two hours. He arrived promptly, inspected the situation, gave me a recommendation on what should be done and went to pick up the needed materials. Overall, I was very impressed with my experience with The Decatur Handyman. He arrived when he said he would, completed the work quickly and professionally and laid out exactly what the price would be. I would not hesitate to call him again if I need work done.

He takes time to show up but he does a good job. He starts to do the job as soon as he shows up. He is good compared to other companies that I have tried.
