American Energy Heating & Air

We have hired American Energy several times to make repairs on the aging systems that came with our Decatur home. They have always been very responsive and reliable. The last time we hired them was in July. We came home from out-of-state to find neither AC working. They were able to get someone out to us that same day.

We have used American Energy several times in the past and been very pleased. They have been very honest with us - telling us more than once that we didn't need an expensive repair (yet) and could hold off with an inexpensive fix. So, when it was clear that that we did need a new HVAC system, we immediately called them. I also called one other company to get an additional estimate. Not only did American Energy come right out that day and fit us in the next day so we wouldn't be without AC in the heat; they also came in at a price that saved us ~$2000 over the other company I got an estimate from and got the work done very quickly. I highly recommend them.

American Energy Heating & Air installed a lower-cost furnace for me when 2 others told me I needed a high-efficiency furnace because of how it would have to be vented.  A fourth company also agreed they could get a lower efficiency furnace in, but their estimate was much higher.  I asked American Energy to be sure they had enough room to vent properly after the other companies told me there wasn't and they confirmed they could do it.  I did not want to go with a high efficiency furnace, because everyone said I would not actually see much increased efficiency unless I upgraded the insulation in the whole house, which I was not in a position to do at the same time as I replaced the furnace, which broke unexpectedly. 

They were quick to respond and scheduled the work.  The installers were great - on time, answered questions, cleaned up, polite & cheerful, a pleasure to work with.

I expect to use American Energy Heating & Air for all future heating & Air services.

As always their technician was on-time as promised; very professional; diagnosed the problem, gave us 2 or 3 different options. We went with a rebuilt unit that he recommended, and it has worked great. We use them for our annual maintenance on 5 different units also, and have always found them to be very fairly priced.

They were very good. We had the upstairs units done the year before by another company and their price was a little less. We couldn't complain about anything. We got some other comparisons and they were a little lower than everyone else. They showed us the unit and it was pretty much the same as we had so we went with them even though we usually don't go with the lowest. They came when they said they would and did the work relatively quickly. They were good about scheduling and getting back to us. They called in advance.

We couldn't have had a better experience. They came the day we called; their rates were very reasonable; the work quickly and professionally performed; and we will use them exclusively from now on for all HVAC needs.

They got to work the next day. We had no time to waste or even shop around as we have used this company before to replace a compressor so we were confident in the work they do. Everything went well the new furnace is working great and we passed our inspection with no problems. They really did a great job quickly, efficiently, and they cleaned up the job-site. Very happy with the work done.

Smoothly. Came out that day, there was a cold spell and were pretty busy. Since I had used them before they made time for us.

Very smooth process. Someone was able to come out within 2 days of calling, gave me an estimate that was very reasonable (from calling other companies), and completed the work within the week. Excellent customer service.

My duct work was in dire need of replacement and I got several estimates from other contractors ranging from $1500 to $2500. Mike was able to replace all duct work and add a new return and flue for $900. He also replaced a bad control board for far less than I paid for a similar board in July (the other company was $550 and his price was $300). Mike was very responsive and helpful, by making sure that the job was done quickly and professionally. He also called to follow up a day after the job was completed to make sure all was working properly.

Great experience. Came when he said, fixed the problem, charged a very fair price and was very courteous.

I chose this company because Michael was up front and honest in assessing what I needed for my house. The other contractors I got estimates from recommended vastly overpowered replacements for my 33-year old HVAC system. Michael installed units that were appropriately sized for my small house. The installation was prompt and they cleaned everything up well afterwards. This company is very new but Michael has 20+ years of previous HVAC experience working for someone else.
