It is a good company. He shows up when he says he is going to, he does a good job, and cleans up after himself. We didn't have a lot of stuff laying around like some contractors do. The only way we knew he's been here is we have a bright shiny new roof. The price was very reasonable. We shopped around. We had another friend who is in the contracting business for probably about 20 years and we asked him about who to have to put on a metal roof and he recommended this guy. He said this was the guy who put it on for him that's why we called him because he had a really good reference from a professional contractor. They have good price, good work, and good service. He was topnotch. He had the best price.

The process went fine. We had a big storm while he was working on it and some water got onto the porch, but no harm was done and he came immediately when called.

I can't be happier with the work that Wayne did on our home. We were in bad shape as far as the roof goes. We had lost many shingles, had water coming into the house, and other general problems (gutters, rotting decking, etc.). I contacted three roofers (all from Angie's List), with St. Pierre being the final. All gave estimates that were relatively competitive, but Wayne could replace with shingles or metal. The other two were shingles only. Wayne's quote for metal was $500 more than shingles.
In all honesty, my wife had some misgivings about Wayne. He is not flashy, pushy or in any way a typical salesman. He is quiet, soft-spoken and unlike all the other contractors we had out to the house. She also got concerned (so did I) when he needed a check for materials up-front. But, it turned out to be good, as we got a separate receipt from the metal supplier and knew the materials were paid for. We had heard stories about roofers not paying their suppliers and the supplier coming to a home-owner and demanding payment or threatening a lien. Everything was great when he was at the house the next morning at 7:30 to go to work. At the end of their day, my wife gave Wayne and his helper a $50 tip each because she saw how hard they worked and how polite they were. Needless to say, her fears earlier were totally gone.
After picking color, he had metal at our house the next day, along with the rest of the materials he needed. I noticed at the end of the job, he very little scrap and no full sheets of metal (which tells me, we only paid for what he used, and didn't waste money on extra). He and his worker began laying strips the first day and while they may not set any records for speed, what they did was right.
I promise if it had been me doing a roofing job on a house like ours, I would have walked, no, run away from it. There was one particular place on the roof where three or more roof lines came to a valley. Wayne told me it was a very tough section. Turns out it was also where the water was entering the house. He spent more time working on it than he planned, but he got it right. In closing, almost two weeks after he started, he finished today. Like I said earlier, I couldn't be happier, nor could my wife.

It has been very much a pleasure dealing with them. They were professional, cleaned up after their work, finished ahead of schedule, and were generous with information on related matters. And the proof is in the pudding, since the roof doesn't leak any more, despite some fierce rainstorms since installation. Their estimate was not exceeded, and there were no unexpected extras. They gave me an estimate on the spot, (unlike the two other firms I spoke with that delayed and delayed.) I would use them again and do recommend them.

From the time I spoke to Wayne he struck me as old fashioned. He works alongside his employees, hand nails shingles, gives a detailed estimate, is not afraid to stand behind the product or workmanship, explains in detail the various options and pros/cons, takes his time getting the job done, cleans up and stays in touch w/ the client throughout the process. He started when he said he would, was punctual and sent me a picture via cell phone when done. From start (estimate) to finish took 3 wks and that's because he was committed to another job prior to mine. When I had questions on the metal roofing, he put me in touch w/ the manufacturer he uses and they allayed my fears and concerns. I am very pleased w/ the whole experience and plan on using St Pierre Roofing again. I highly recommend them.

They did a fine job with the roofing as far as I can tell. I have not noticed any leaks so far. Their downfall was in their cleanup work of the carpet. I recommend them to others. It is a little bit difficult to communicate with them. Once that was solved they were able to find the roofing materials that I wanted and the particular shingles I wanted. Everything went as planned. Only the initial communication was a problem. Once the work got started it was fine. Overall, I would say they were B as they were not superior in their work. The quality of work they did on the roof is A.
Response from St Pierre Roofing
"There must be some mistake in this report because i did not mess up anyones carpet. I am not from Michigan.I strongly believe you have the wrong roofing company reported under my company name. This is St.Pierre Roofing and my name is Wayne and I am the owner.I am located in GA. Also our company takes pride in our cleanup."

I had six estimates and chose to have Wayne St. Pierre install a new roof for me. During two meetings with him, I felt that he was honest and conscientious, and I found him easy to talk to. His references all gave glowing reports about his work (one of them said: "I cannot find anybody who can do a better-quality job"). But one thing played a decisive role in my decision to hire him. One of the companies that had provided an estimate gave me the option to select the "additional benefit" of having shingles installed over ridge ventilation ("to promote effective heat and humidity dissipation"); this option doesn't cost much (around $160), and with this selection the workmanship guarantee would be extended. I asked a couple of the roofers about this. Even though Wayne was not the only one who told me that our roof has very little ridge, he was the only one who informed me that although ridge ventilation is the best type of ventilation, it would not work in our situation: not only that our roof has very little ridge, but we already have two turbine vents, two power vents, and two slant back vents. If we add ridge ventilation, these existing exhaust vents would act as intake vents, and the air flow would be messed up. Following this discussion, I did some Internet research about venting options and found the same type of explanation about ridge vents vs other types of exhaust vents. I was very impressed and decided to hire him. Now we have a new roof that Wayne and his two crew members installed with care. They hand nailed each shingle and replaced all rotten wood. On the flattest part of the roof, they laid down the felt paper with more overlapping for better prevention of moisture. They cleaned at the end of each day and did a thorough cleaning at the project’s completion. Let me say it again: Wayne is honest, conscientious, experienced, and knowledgeable. He explains things and answers questions patiently. He uses good material, follows manufacturer's instructions faithfully, and does high-quality work. Customer satisfaction is very important to him. Here is an example. When he looked at our roof at the beginning, he told me that the flashing along one wall looks very good and does not need to be replaced, and I was ok with that. He ended up replacing the flashing in all other areas because rotten wood was found underneath. When all work was finished, I asked him if it would be ok to keep the old flashing in that one area. He assured me that it would, but he sensed my uneasiness to have one old piece of flashing kept. So he said that if it would make me feel better to have his work up there, he would replace that piece of flashing. I said it would, and he redid the flashing. This is what he said to me: "When I walk away from your house, I want you to be 100% satisfied." Well, the new roof looks beautiful (I never thought that I would use this word about a roof), and I am absolutely pleased with Wayne St. Pierre's work.
