I wouldn't use anyone else. They're very honest and professional. There were many instances over the years where I had expected to replace the unit and they told me that all they needed to do was just replace an inexpensive part. So when they do tell me that the unit needs to be replaced, I have full confidence in their advice. I have referred them to several people who are just as happy as I am with Hixon Heating & Air Conditining.

They did a great job. No issues. The guys were very friendly and were right up front with the cost. They were very courteous and laid down stuff to make sure it didn't track down my basement and cleaned up afterwards. I've been using them for 18 years now.

Mitch came out and immediately located the issue. Turns out I had a clogged condensation line and he was able to clean it out and provide some preventive tips on how to keep it from happening in the future. This is my second time using their service in the 4 years I've been in the home and each time has been a positive experience.

We were unfortunate enough to have a piece of debris damage our system.  Hixon worked late into the day to respond quickly and ensure we would have heat!  And even for such an emergency service the service was friendly and helpful.  Highly recommend. Will be using them again to install gas logs in my fireplace.

The salesman, Michael was prompt for our appointment, and was professional in his presentation. He took the time to look at our current system and understand what we were trying to accomplish with new units.
During the presentation he explained why he was recommending what he had in mind. He gave us several options and allowed us to choose what we felt was best for us. I completely understood how each option would impact our budget and the environment in our home.
When the installation crew arrived they were on time. Each person involved in the removal and installation were polite and professional. They were careful to be quiet and not to soil our carpet. They made sure to install a plastic liner in the pathways so the carpet would not get soiled. At no time was they crew not busy working to complete installation. They were very productive and efficient.
During the installation they answered all our questions and made modifications for us without making us feel uncomfortable. For example, we explained that our cat tended to chew on the condensation hose since his litter box was in the same room as the unit located in the basement. Without any fanfare they constructed a wire mesh around the hose and pump to keep the cat out. At no extra charge.
On the day we did the final walk through my wife mentioned that our fireplace wasn't working and if they knew anyone who could repair it. To our surprise they looked at it and found what the problem was and fixed that also. They even helped us clean the glass cover on the fireplace. No charge. These guys were awesome. I'd recommend them to anyone.

MIke came out right away when our A/C unit failed.  He ascertained it was due to a lightning strike.  He was able to get us up an running again until the new unit was installed.  I don't remember how he did it but it worked for a few days before failing again and he assured me it was safe.  The installation was done as scheduled, on time and at the agreed price.  We still use Hixon for HVAC tune ups and emergency calls.

There was no pressure at all to perform this work and he agreed that if the new unit did not effectively cool the kitchen then he would come back and route an additional outlet for a reasonable cost. The new Heil unit works perfectly, keeps the downstairs very cool and is really really quiet. Much smaller and more quiet than the upstairs Goodman unit I had installed by another vendor the prior year.

My heat went out in the middle of the night on Friday. I called Hixon and left a message with answering service at approximately 7:45 AM. Got the call back from Penny with Hixon around 8 AM and she said that Richard would be there before noon. At 10:30 AM Richard (owner) was at my door. He found the problem within 5-10 minutes, replaced a bad fuse and had the unit up and running within minutes. He also checked the outside heat pump, inside circuit breaker and wiring to the unit to be sure that the fuse was the only problem. Hixon installed this system in January of 2010, thus the call was under warranty and there was no charge. Both Richard, Penny and his service techs that installed the unit were very friendly, professional and considerate. When they left, there was no mess anywhere that I was left to clean up. I have referred Hixon to friends. I wouldn't use anyone else.

Called on a Monday. Robert Hixon came out on a Tuesday. We discussed different size units and also told him about some current air flow issues to downstairs registers. an estimate was drawn up. He came back on a Friday to perform all of the work himself including removal of old unit installation of new outside and inside portions for new A/C. He attempted to fix airflow to one existing register but found out that it was installed incorrectly from the beginning. We agreed to leave this alone. I had suggested one additional register be installed in a large kitchen. He gave me a cost of $100 to do that work but suggested I wait until we see how the new unit would cool the downstairs as the cost would be the same if done later as opposed to now. Overall, he was prompt, courteous and quick with no problems at all.

Called Hixon 9/08 when AC noted leaking. Rep came out & recommended a bigger more efficient Amana air handler/compressr & told me Amana would cover parts 10 yrs & labor under the Asure program. Was charged $6850 for compressr, air handler, labor, instal & warranties 9-10-08. Promised copy of waranty, never given copy. 4/09 AC blowing hot air, called Hixon,had a rep come out who said no pressure on refrigerant. Said they must have not sealed the unit right on install & apologized. Said he would have the owner Richard Hixon come out, run dye to chk leaks. Mr. Hixon was hard to get to call me back, harder to sched date/time to come to house. When he did come & run dye took a wk to get him to come back to check for leak after noshows on sched dates/showing up w/out appt, not rtning calls. Confirmed leak in seal inside that was their fault & fixed. Told me he wanted to run "new lines" because he didn't "like" my old lines and doing me a favor. Was very rude, demeaning, intimidating, discourteous & left lines uncovered. Again asked 4 Asure & parts warranty but said he didn't have it and the office lost it. Mr. Hixon was intimidating & made me feel there was nothing I could do about it. Then AGAIN heat stopped working & again was blowing cold instead of hot. Called HVAC person rec by my HOA and who system was inspected - *I was informed that the old AC lines should've been replaced with new when new unit was installed as new unit has different refrigerant, old lines contaminated new unit & are too small, ductwork had not been redone & should have been for the size of new unit, incorrect installation that was causing compressor to fail/trip causing damage to unit & it not to heat/cool. Told me to call Amana to check on my Asure warranty. Amana looked up serial #s, told me Hixon never registered Asure labor warranty that I paid for so now I have no recourse. Amana confirmed there should have been new lines & ducts ran at time of orig install and Hixon not doing so will cause parts to fail. Told me since Hixon installed incorrect, manufacturer warranty is void on parts.*Pd $6850 for unit that is now damaged w/void warranty due to Hixon. ****Electrical inspection 8-2010 found that HVAC improperly installed, fire hazard due to size of unit installed on old/too small electrical circut and fuse. Had to pay $1000 to have new electrical circut and fuse! THERE IS A COMPLAINT ON BBB THAT WAS TAKEN TO HIGHEST LEVEL AND RESULTED IN NO ACTION FROM RICHARD HIXON. I was ripped off, taken advantage of as a woman and absolutely no reparations from Hixon, at all. Completely ignored my requests to settle this problem.

Michael was prompt, professional and friendly. He was able to narrow down the possible leak areas and recommended three different options ranging from adding refrigerant, to replacing the evaporator coil. I want to see how long the refrigerant lasts and if it is a bad leak, I'll call Hixon back for the coil. I thought the price was very reasonable for this type of replacement. It's nice to know there are still companies out there that look out for the customer the way Hixon does. Maybe I need the coil, maybe not but with Hixon I wasn't pressured to make a high dollar repair immediately and I know they will do the repair right and at a fair price. Thanks guys, I'll definitely be calling you for all of my HVAC repairs.
