I write this letter in recommendation of Tyson Homes as a general contractor. I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Thorpe on the finish out of our basement in the summer of 2010. I can recommend him highly and without any reservation.
Throughout the course of the renovation, Mr. Thorpe and his team were consummate professionals. Mr. Thorpe, unlike most of the other contractors that we interviewed, made sure that we completely understood the timeline and the different phases of construction. He also made us aware of options and choices available to us that we had never dreamed of and would save us money. He was accurate in his initial assessment of the scale and cost of our project. Every member of his team would always take the time to answer my questions made us feel like they were building their home.
Our job was done with care and precision. He is a gifted woodcrafter and the custom cabinetry he designed and executed are exquisite. In addition, my wife has asthma. Mr. Thorpe and his whole team were always sure to keep the work area extremely clean and tidy. Not one member of his team ever left the worksite in disarray. They blocked off the downstairs ac vents and vacuumed all drywall dust daily. Mr. Thorpe took special care to prevent any of the job dust from trailing throughout the house.
The only complexity in working with Mr. Thorpe is that, as he himself will tell you; good work takes time to complete. Patience is required when you work with a perfectionist. Although our project took time to complete, my basement was finished when he promised and on budget. I think we have a wonderful outcome and a work of art. I only wish that Tyson homes had built the rest of my home and not just my basement where I now spend most of my time.
My grandfather once gave me the best advice I have ever been given.
