TruGreen Lawn Care - 5622

We started service with Trugreen in May of 2022. We paid for the full year of service in full. Our lawn was good we just wanted to make it stronger. We have fescue and even paid for them to aerate in Sept. and we put 100 lbs of seed and bales of straw . In December we noticed alot of our lawn dying. We called the 800 number for customer service great lip service no results. I have numerous emails and phone call where I have asked for a manager to visit the house and explain what they did wrong and what they will do to fix it. There customer service has given me names and phone number to expect a call NOT ONE CALL HAS BEEN RECEIVED. Horrible lawn care is followed by terrible customer care. I have called the 2 managers in Cumming Branch Corey and Joseph left 2 messages and NOT A RETURN CALL. Customer 7007938468 The rating of 1 is too high.

After a year of weed treatments still have them

I pay $700 once a year. Sometimes you have to chase them to finish off what they didn't finish. For responsiveness, I never have to do anything, TRUGREEN CHEMLAWN come and do it. I think they give us a warning, an e-mail or something like that, that they're coming. They come when they say they're coming.
For professionalism, I have to call 'em up and tell them "hey, you missed the back lawn". And then there's a new guy and he's never been here before and he doesn't know how to get in and all that stuff. Somehow, they're not handing the information to the drivers. I don't know if I would continue using them in the future. I just find it too expensive. 

They would say they treated the lawn. If you watched them, they go one path across the yard and go back and get in their truck and say they treated. It was probably in 2010 when I got rid of them. I remember thinking the price was okay. They said a manager was going to come out and take care of our yard after I complained, and he didn't show up either. They don’t tell us when they’re coming, they just show up. I didn’t really get any feedback on my lawn, ever from them either.

I was a ScottsLawn customer for many years. Trugreen acquired them this year. Since then the service has deteriorated. Especially as it relates to customer service. They try to sell you additional services you don't need. You cannot get through to customer service easily - it said the office was closed at 10am EDT on a Tuesday morning. It could very well be integration issues with the acquisition, but makes for a very frustrating experience. I have cancelled all my services with them.

My experience has gone very well. The staff is professional and knowledgeable in their field. We have been using them for a few years now. The pricing is reasonable and I have been pleased with the outcome of their services. I would recommend this company to others.

Having used Trugreen for a significant period of time, we anticipated that this spring our lawn would come in healthy and green.  The reality - our lawn was the last to turn green (and still struggling) and our weeds have never been worse.  We called Trugreen to submit a complaint, in which they did send a representative free of charge to review and treat.  The representative spot treated, but when I probed him on the various weeds, he didn't even know what half of them were, or what to treat them with.  Not an expert, which left me highly dissatisfied.  We gave them one more shot after they came, and even after treatment and moving, the weeds are even worse.  We have since cancelled our service.

We stupidly paid for one year up front to get the discount price.  Trugreen came out once, they were suppose to put weed killer down. The man did not ring the bell and when he left I found the form that says what they did on my door.  The form said they put fertilizer down.  I tried calling to find out why they did not put down weed killer...went round and round with customer service never able to speak with the same person twice and never got an answer. In my frustration I threatened to end services and then...wow all of a sudden I got a women who was supposed to be my "contact" person.  She told me she was going to contact the man who serviced us and find out what he did.  Well, she never called back and when I tried to call her for several days all I got was the answering machine.  So, I got someone else and canceled service...I told them I want my money back and they said they would credit the money back to my account. A month later and still have not gotten my money back.  I am again going round and round, never able to speak with the same person twice....still promising to get my money back to me.  This is the worst customer service I have ever had...and I am still waiting for my money back.

When we purchased our home in January 2008, the yard was something that had been neglected.  After one year of yard service from another company, we chose to go with TruGreen becasue their pricing was more competitive.  In the fall of 2009, Trugreen began servicing our yard.  Weeds, weeds, weeds!  I continued to call them to come back out...they continued to return.  I had the yard aerated and lime put down when they recommended it (at least twice...maybe more).  I was serious about getting my yard in shape... Unfortunately they were not.  The manager came out twice to survey my yard and did not believe me that our yard looked better before they began servicing it.  It was horrendous.  They gave a partial refund...as the manager agreed that it didn't appear the back yard (though the front yard looked bad as well) had been being serviced like it should have been.
Even after the manager had visited my property - there was no improvement...and I patiently waited another 8 months before cancelling their service in the spring of 2012.
In February of 2012, I went with another yard service....Guess what?  No weeds!

They do a fair job for the price, but I find that after paying them for treatments through the winter, there are lots of weeds every spring.

It has cut down on them coming in the house which is important.  It has made a difference.

This company calls constantly offering other services, like putting down lime or aerating. One guy even hung up on me when I told him I was not interested in extra services. I told them to stop calling me or I'd change companies. They called again last night, so I am leaving TruGreen. And, in the past, they have killed the vine I had planted by my mailbox, even though there was a trellis. Annoying.

They come out almost every month that is ten months in a year for the service. They are great. They come and we don't even have to be at home when they do the service. They leave the information on the door and we pay them. We have the auto payment option with them.

It is the same service guy who comes every time and he is great. It is a very responsive company. If I ask a question, they will find an answer for me. If I need anything extra, they will advise me whether I should or should not do it. Everything turns out just fine. The price is better compared to the other people around. I don?t have anything to compare the quality with except a very bad experience with the grass cut. They come out when they are supposed to come out. They come when I am here and they are on time.

We have a corner lot and have had issues with lawn companies missing certain areas of our lawn. We made this VERY clear to the sales guy who came out to try and convince us to return to TruGreen. In the past, we used TruGreen and they missed areas of our property and weeds became abundant. The sales guy assured us that we'd have NO issues this time around. So we decided to give TruGreen a 2nd try due to Sales Guy's persistence. Sales Guy PROMISED us that their company not overlook any part of our property and that he would DETAIL the 'problem areas' directly on the service order (so it would be obvious to any service tech which areas to treat). Sales Guy lied. Nothing was ever added to the service order to indicate the 'problem areas'. We called TruGreen to complain and the rep who answered the phone was VERY rude and did not try to understand our situation what-so-ever. So we canceled our service with TruGreen yet again.

Steve Riddell from Trugreen Chemlawn takes his time and does a very conscientious and thorough job on my yard. I'm so impressed with him that I've even called the owner to sing his praises. It's nice to be able to have a lawn service person that speaks English. I can communicate easily with him. They come about every 8 weeks and I pay them each time they come.

During our initial call to TruGreen, we explained that we've had issues with previous lawn co's. They assured us they were a notch above the rest so we accepted their relatively high quote. We insisted that a rep come out to survey our property. We wanted to walk our property with them. We did. The guy, however, that we showed our property lines to was NOT they guy who performed the applications and there was obviously never a transfer of knowledge! It took TruGreen 3 tries to complete our 1st application. After the 3rd time, we just took their word for it. We had issues with billing too. We were supposed to be charged $29.95 for the first application, intro charged we were billed $45. Also, their online statements do not jive with their paper statements. A few WEEKS after we canceled, we received a letter from Cannon White, a VP, asking us to come back. I would have believed her to be sincere if she provided HER contact info, instead she referred us back to the branch office!

Treatment for Japanese Beetles: When I called about this "well we are going out anyway in a week so there is no reason to schedule anything sooner. Except they didn't come out in a week. I had a tremendous amount of damage during that time. Last night they called me and asked me about aeration which I always do. They told me they would come out on a Monday and give me notice. It turns out they left a message on my answering machine 24 hours later giving me literally 12 hours notice. I get this message at midnight when I got home. I'm supposed to have my lawn watered, cut and the sprinklers marked by midmorning. I work so I can't do this and they don't even have an answering machine to cancel the service. Never fine tune anything, nor made any remarks about specific problems with the trees or lawn. Always late with post weed control. The lawn is always COVERED in weeds more than anyone in the neighborhood before they finally do it.

I have many animals and was concerned about using chemicals on my lawn. I was assured by the salesman that they would take every precaution to stay away from the chicken pens etc. and that I would have the same rep each time who would know the limitations. I had the same rep only twice! Each time they came, I had to repeat the precautions. I had received a card in the mail saying they would be here the week of 8/21 to aerate and re-seed. When they did not show up, I called. A woman said there must be some mistake because it is way too early to reseed. A few days later the same woman called to set up a date that week and said "No, it's not too early." They came while I was gone. The work order states "front yard only" because I use the back as pasture. They went into the back and left the gate open. All four dogs were gone! After two hours of searching, I found them. I called and canceled my contract with them immediately.

I have had TrueGreen Chemlawn servicing my lawn for 3 years and the weeds seem to get thicker each year. In May the service person came out ( I get a different one each visit. Never the same one twice) and sprayed my lawn and within a week you could see the spray pattern where the chemical used killed my grass. I was livid! I called Mr. Bleshoy and was told a supervisor would be calling to make an appointment with me to view my lawn. That was in May, it's now August 18 and I have yet to hear from TrueGreen Chemlawn. The 4 houses around me had the same problem since the same guy serviced each of our lawns. We all had dead spray marks through out our lawn. I have canceled my service. I was told that Mr. Bleshoy would be calling to follow up on my cancellation. I canceled a week ago. No calls yet! I would never recommend TrueGreen Chemlawn to anyone!!

They did a great job- the lawn and trees and shrubs looked great. They would automatically come when due and leave the bill in the mailbox. They would come back and due an additional application if I thought it was not working appropriately.
