. The $150 price is a scam. Do not fall for it. When I scheduled over the phone, I double checked with them about the pricing, and they told me that the pumping would be $150 for a 1000 gallon tank. They never clarified that the actual price will be higher (much higher!). When the technicians came in, they told me it’s all water inside the tank, so I don’t have to pump it now (which basically means I pay them $150 for removing the lid of my tank, and then for putting it back). Now when I told them it’s been two years, and I need it pumped, then their ‘all water’ narrative changed into ‘septic tank full of non-standard materials, grease, etc. Fact is, the tank was cleaner than most other tanks, and their ‘non-standard’ narrative is their way of charging you a high price while they have already opened your tank, so your best bet becomes getting the pumping done at the high price. I ended up paying $550 for the 1000 gallon pumping, which is higher than all local septic service providers in my area. The technicians were very rude, honestly I haven’t seen such rude service providers in my entire life. This was unexpected from a large company like Rooter Plus.

I highly recommend you do not use this business. They will offer same day service and charge an extremely high fee under the guise of their flat rate. Regarding pricing, their direct management has mentioned the customers do not need a breakdown. They're extremely unprofessional from management, to workers. They bank on your duress in order to get paid more. I was quoted more than double the price for the actual items and services requested. I believe that as a customer, I am entitled to transparency regarding the specifics of the tools and materials utilized during the service. The lack of professionalism, transparency as well as how they'll use their situations for their prices speaks volumes. Save yourself the trouble, and find the many various plumbing companies in the Atlanta area.

Would like to forewarn anyone thinking about using this company, review is accurate and I am a previous customer. I live at Cedar Chase Townhomes in Atlanta GA, 30324. In 2021 our HOA hired Rooter Plus to re plumb water main lines and unit feed lines in our 48 unit community. Rooter Plus took several weeks longer than they estimated and in 2022 had to redo all the water main lines due to repeated leaking. At 1:30 AM on Oct 26th the direct feed line Rooter Plus installed to my townhouse blew off the water mainline they installed in front of my townhouse discharging a firehose strength geyser of water with granite aggregate directly at the front of my home shattering 4 windows and skylight. My house was flooded with 3-4" of water, furniture, artwork, ceilings and walls destroyed. The only thing worse than Rooter Plus's poor project management pathetic workmanship is their complete and utter lack of customer care, concern or compassion. Rooter Plus deferred the matter to their insurance company. Rooter Plus's owner Charlie Plumley didn't take the time or make the effort to respond to my voice message and their Ms. Susan Rutherford was obtuse, uncaring and rude the one time I phoned her on the matter. Rooter Plus and their insurance provider refused to pay my hotel costs while damage to my home they caused were being completed and left me with over $10k in unreimbursed repair costs. This is all factual and I have email, video and photo to support this review. DO NOT USE ROOTER PLUS THEY ARE AWFUL!

Please stay away from this company. When I scheduled an appointment with them, they gave a price to show up at the property, but the charges they mentioned at the time of the payment were different. Please don't waste a minute of your time calling and talking to them.

They game out on March 22nd to clean our septic tank and drain field. I was told over the phone it would be 150. They get there and we ended up having to pay 3,500.00. They are now back at my house in July because septic tank is field again. They want to run new drain fields (after they cleaned and put Oxidizer in them back in March. They now want 18,000.00 to run a new drain field, cut down our front yard tree, dig up our front yard and run a drain field up hill. We are also still on the hook for the 3,500.00 we financed back in March! I choose this company because I thought contractors/companies were vetted if they were on Angi's list. To say that I am mad is an under statement! We have had our septic tank every four years and no other company has ever charged us these fees.

Had Rooterplus out to fix drainage issue with clogged toilet. We have a standard ranch 3/2 bathrooms are back to back. Mitch goes into 1 bathroom takes off toilet attempts to snake line and busts the other toilet. Says in 20+ years I have only ever busted 1 toilet. Toilet explosion and snake misdirection results in 6 or 7 gouges in drywall. Snaking the line did not clear the damage Mitch says going to need the septic crew to come out and jet from other side into house. Mitch calls in the need for the septic crew and says I will be back to replace your toilet tomorrow. Boom Mitch is outta there. Septic crew shows up and Steve F starts in with the whole oh you have a biomass on top you need new drains fields and basically $5000+ worth of work to make this thing work right. Biomass normal tank pumped 2 years ago and I don’t think you pumping chemicals into the field will clear anything up since there are no issues with the septic field just clogged flow out of the house to the tank. $3200 bucks to replace line from house to septic tank seems high but your here and already broke my water line and messed up the yard so go ahead. Finished the job and now wait for plumber to come out to fix water line broken by Steve F. Steve says if the plumber was here I could just trench it out for him with my machine but since he isn’t I will half way fill in the huge hole in the middle of the yard and leave the rest for the singular plumber showing up after hours to fix water line. Caleb shows up repairs water line says basically they need to bring the machine back out to fill hole and leaves. I still have huge hole in yard. Next day Mitch shows up replaces toilet he broke and calls manager. Manager says call this company and they will come fix drywall next day. I call speak to Cierra about huge hole in yard she says I will send message to septic manager and they will get back to her to let her know when they would come out to fix hole in yard. Next day crew comes does great job fixing drywall issue in bathroom. (Juan is awesome) I don’t hear back from Cierra. Call again speak to Sarah she says they will be there on the 30th (Memorial Day I know and she knows they aren’t coming but ok). Here it is 6/3 still no word but I have a huge hole in the yard dead plants where they relocated them to dig and all my landscape lights are just in a big pile where Steve left them. If you would like pictures of how they left my yard happy to share just message me directly.

Please read the reviews and learn from the mistakes others have made. The office stated the service was $150 with a possible $100 upcharge for 500 additional gallons of waste. Reasonable price for 1500 gallons of removal. The time was set for 8 - 12N so I had to cancel plans but getting the septic taken care of was more important. At 10AM no one had showed and there was no call to let me know progress so I called in to be told the tech would be there well before 12N. At 12:30PM when no one showed up I called again to be told the tech was delayed but would be there soon. With no one at the house at hour later, I expected no one to show but got communication at 1:45 that the tech would be another 45 minutes. That was the first update that I did not initiate. By 3:00PM the tank was open with the classic stand up of the shovel in the waste picture. The price went from $250 to $16K in 10 minutes. Understanding the upsell, we said no to replacing the drain field. At the $16K, I could have the tank cleaned four times a year for 16 years before I would spend the asking price ($16,000/$250/4). We watched the work completed which included the dig to the tank, hose to suck out the debris with no 'manual break up of excessive solids' and debatable hydro jetting of the mainline. I called the office to discuss the bill that grew from a possible $250 to just under $1K but Shawn Jeffers was not available to approve the reduction of the bill for the work not completed. When I talked to another person at the office, she explained to me that 'the tank has been abused and years past due on cleaning' when the previous cleaning was 3 years earlier before the house sat vacant for 2 years. Rooterplus is well versed in the upsell and taking advantage of homeowners in a pinch. Beware and try other companies that do not have the reputation and tradition of robbing homeowners.

I exposed lid for them, they only opened and pumped. Quoted $150 to pump originally. Then began to tell me about the tank had too much solid waste and price went to $626.00. Floating solids is normal in all tanks. I only let them finish because they were there. Will never call them back.

Would not recommended this company to anyone. They are very dishonest and the manager Shawn was no help what's so ever with the problem of them double charging us for sludge break up they never told us about. Then waited until done to tell us that it would only last a week. And don't be fooled by there 150.00 gimmick. 840.88 to pump out a 1000 gallon tank.

Workman rodded out line and cleared it. Cost was $546--four times what I've previously paid for same work. Even before he finished job, was telling me we needed to replace line to the tune of $12,000. Didn't seem interested in running camera through line to determine actual condition. Work was OK, but costly and they were more interested in making big bucks than anything else.

I would like to take this opportunity to commend RooterPLus and their plumber Cole for a job well done at our house. On Saturday morning, our toilet on the main floor near the guest bedroom started leaking a lot of water on the bathroom floor and down into the unfinished basement a floor below. We initially called two other plumbers and left a message with one and the other did not service our area. Our third call was to RooterPLus. We immediately talked to a customer service representative who said she would call back as soon as she determined who could get there the quickest. She called back a few minutes later and said Cole would be there within one hour. Exactly one hour later, a very nice young man knocked on our door. Upon arrival and slipping on shoe covers, Cole immediately went to our bathroom and started a process to diagnose the problem. Once it was identified, he explained the issue to us in layman terms, and provided a written estimate on the cost of the two options, dependent upon the severity of the problem once he dismantled the toilet. The final result was a bad flange seal under the toilet which he replaced. All through the process he explained what he was doing. He showed us the damaged part before removing it and repaired the toilet. We also asked him to make a few other minor plumbing repairs while he was here. We would like to thank RooterPlus for their prompt attention to our plumbing problem and also sending out Cole. Cole was skilled, reliable, professional, and very polite. In summary, RooterPlus will now be our “go to” plumbers for future needs. We would highly recommend RooterPlus to our family, friends, and neighbors.

We talked and had the return visit scheduled for a Saturday. Since we had to cut off the water supply to the whole building, i scheduled the return visit with a HOA board member who notified all of the residents and TALK with the plumbing technician about when he would be there. They never show up. Did not return phone calls or text messages. I called the company and left a message with the manage and he did not return the call either. DO NOT HIRED THIS COMPANY.

It was fine. They covered the dirt back over it, packed it down and cleaned up behind themselves, and gave you a review of what was going on with the septic tank system. I guess it was a good price. It was about right. They were very good. I called that morning and they were there within an hour after I called, and it was not an emergency.

The cost is my own fault for not getting regular septic pump-out before now.  But I have to give top scores to this company:  they were super easy to work with, very fast in scheduling an appointment (I needed immediate service), showed up on time, were professional and neat in the work they performed, and did all they could to keep my costs as low as possible (even gave me creative financing options).  Turns out that my septic was not up to code, so they helped fix that too.  I would highly recommend them to anyone needing plumbing or septic work.  My technician was Jason -- he was very knowledgeable, super friendly, and is a huge credit to this company.  Even though the grass was little torn up, they did a good job minimizing the workspace mess.

We contacted Rooter Plus to clear a drain at our house, somewhere under the lawn. The technician arrived, took a quick look, and after 10minutes of "working on a quote" came back with a quote of $475,-. Quite expensive, especially since there was a whole list of potential "extras" that could add up to the final cost depending on their "findings". Anyway, that's not my problem with that company, it's a free world, they can set their pricing however they want. So I told the technician I thought it was too expensive and thanked him for "coming out" and that I would look for someone else to do the job. His response ? "Wait, I can give a discount; $415". That is the point where I had a big question mark floating above my head. Me - "No, that's still to expensive, I'll find someone else, thanks though." Him: "$350,- then ?". Me - "Hey now, what is this, a bidding game ??". So after some more back and forth and me telling the guy he should leave, he came back with a final "Company Special" of $99,-. I know I should have still told the guy "No" but after a whole sunday of working on the problem with my plumber, and renting gear from Home Depot etc, I OK'ed the "Company Special" just to get the job done before sunset - it's not very comfortable living in a house without a working drain...I don't blame the technician that came out (even if this particular guy had a "serious attitude") because I'm sure he is just following company policy and he can use the extra commission, but I do point a nasty finger at the management of Rooter Plus because this is a particularly despicable way of doing business; a lot of vulnerable people would just go ahead with the initial quote, what else can you do as a mother with kids and no working drains ? and they probably end up paying even more than the initial quote.Yes, management of Rooter Plus, I understand you don't do anything illegal, but trust me on this, your business ethnics... are simply despicable.

Called Rooter Plus on Sunday to come help with a drain field issue that caused septic to back up into the house. Was told the "technician" would be at the house between 8:00am and 10:00am Monday morning. Tech did not show in window time. I called every hour until 3:30pm to request a status and was told each time he was about an hour out. Technician came and diagnosed the problem as a total drain field failure and (that just happened out of the blue with no warning or no signs). After 40 minutes of work with no rate card to indicate pricing he told me I owed him 1360 dollars (the septic tank pump price quoted on the phone was under 200). He proceeded to try an scare into contracting with rooter plus right there for $9000 to replace my 12 year old drain field. Going with AMOS instead.

We bought a house in July 2012, the water heater needed replacing.  We called RooterPlus.  They came out put in a new water heater, did some other misc. repairs and I was very pleased with the service.  We joined their service agreement discount club and used them for all our plumbing, heating, and air conditioning needs.  These were substantial since the house was a repo that was empty for 3 years.
Today we called them to look at the water heater because it did not seem to be giving the same amount of hot water we were getting previously.  The tech showed up promptly as expected and informed me that the lower heating element was burned out and the upper element was damaged.  He suggested a power surge and informed me that it would be $390.00 to repair the elements.  I explained to him I was very upset that a water heater that is 1 year old would have problems already and that we had not experienced a power surge.  We have underground utilities and nothing else in the house had issues.
I understand completely how a warranty works installation was 7/20/12 and was told there was not anything they could do but replace the elements and charge me. Needless to say I was very upset.  After speaking with my husband, I told them no.
After speaking to a couple of other plumbers, I called Rheem to discuss my warranty.  They immediately, with no hesitation, said they would send out 2 new elements to me and a tech would call to install them at NO CHARGE.
I feel like the call to Rheem should have been made by the representative from RooterPlus.
I called the supervisor at RooterPlus and spoke to him about the situation. He explained that they had to abide by the warranty.
My complaint is not about the service I received from this company for a year, it is about the unwillingness to do what was right for a loyal customer.  To charge me $390.00 to replace 2 $15.00 parts is ridiculous.

Scheduled septic tank drain a week out. Received several calls from customer service throughout the day letting me know they are working to get someone onsite. Around 6 pm two technicians showed up and quickly located the septic tank. Within 45 mins they had opened and drained my septic. They inspected the intake and tank. All was well and they covered everything back up. 1000 gal tank was 219.25 including 18.00 fuel surcharge. I will use again when needing maintenance.

When RooterPlus came to our home, there were no issues of the hose reaching the tank or a filter to be cleaned.  Instead, they told us that the drudge in the tank was so thick that they needed a special tool to bust through it.  (This was an additional charge of $125.)  Then we were told that our field lines were holding water and they needed to be pumped.  (This was an additional
$295.)  They said the tank should be treated for bacteria if we didn?t want to have additional problems down the line.  (A cost of $175.)  Finally, they advised us that the field lines should be treated with an oxidizer to prevent serious problems that we could
incur.  This had an additional charge of $1668.73.  When he heard my surprise at the cost, he said repeatedly that he understood that number shocked a lot of people, but that it was much cheaper to pay that now and avoid having to put in new lines eventually which could cost between $9,000 & $10,000.
I believed the oxidizer treatment to be unnecessary and declined.  However, their scare tactics did enough on our psyche to choose several additional (and now have learned unnecessary) treatments to bring our total bill with them to $914.25.
I called the Forsyth County Department of Health after they had gone.  I felt so cheated and wanted to ask if these extra ?treatments? were common.  I spoke with a gentleman there that told me the tank simply needed to be emptied and cleaned every 3 to 5 years and that NO chemicals of any kind were necessary and no additional treatments, such as breaking through the drudge were required.  He said they regularly received complaints from residents and could only encourage dissatisfied customers to report the issue to the Environmental Health department, which I have done.  A dishonest and unethical company that does business in our community, not only does a disservice to the community, but to the entire industry they service and represent.
Response from RooterPLUS!
"I apologize for any negative experience you have had with RooterPLUS. I understand in addition to just pumping your tank, the other things that come up upon inspection can be overwhelming. This is why we strive to ensure our customers understand their septic system and are aware of any recommendation to bring their system to proper working order. We offer flat rate pricing that you approve before we perform the work. You know the total before we do the job and you have the option to accept or decline. Your system had sludge over 2 feet thick and was required to be broken down in order for our truck to be able to pump your waste onto our tanker. There were also symptoms of your drain field lines failing due to an excessive water leak inside the house. This can over saturate your drain field and cause them not to perform properly. We offer treatments to give you an option other than complete replacement of your drain field lines. Although some counties do not "recommend" other treatments, we have a proven success rate with our products and offer an outstanding warranty to back it up. So many factors play into the health of your septic system like your water usage, what you put down your drains, and how often you perform maintenance on the system. Our technicians are obligated to inform you of any potential hazards to your system in order for you to make an educated decision. Your septic system inspection is not a scare tactic. It is a tool for you as a homeowner to protect your septic system, your home, and your environment."

They offered me a price of $195, but they pulled a bait and switch on me. Once they dug up the line, they told me they had to do more work and then said the additional work would cost over $2000. Even after that, when we tried using the washing machine later, the toilet overflowed again. They came over again and had to dig up the yard. They then tried to charge me for another $325. They insisted that there was paper blocking the line, even though I use septic safe toilet paper. I had them do the work, but the toilet overflowed again when we used the washing machine. I had them come over again, and again they failed to solve the problem. Then they came over one more time and still failed to resolve the issue. I then called someone else who said that there was a blockage in the main toilet line. He charged me just $200 to use a rooter to clear out the line. He also told us that we had been ripped us off, and that all we needed was a rooter. Rooter Plus then came over later and tried to sell me a permanent solution to blockage problems for $1400.
Response from RooterPLUS!
"Our records show a significantly less amount charged to you for a lot more work than reported. We will contact you by phone to make sure our records match yours so we may resolve any issue you may have. Customer satisfaction is one of our top priorities and we are sorry to hear of your experience. Please expect a phone call from our Customer Relations Manager to ensure that all your issues are addressed. We appreciate your feedback."

It started out so great!    We called and someone was out within the hour.

From there it started to go downhill.

The guy had to call another guy in to make sure the big wood beam in the garage wasn't load bearing.  I'm not a contractor but even I KNEW IT WASN'T.

Long story short:  We had to pay over $2100 for the installation.

At the time, I just accepted it because I panicked and had water all over my garage.  I called my father who lives several hundred miles away -- he manages a maintenance shop and informed me I was being ripped off -- completely.    He called Rooter Plus numerous times on my behalf.   The CS Manager is on vacation, she will call you back, call her back tomorrow, she is out sick and finally was told "sorry".

We bought the service membership so the whole thing would be $200 cheaper!

Here is the breakdown for services:

Member / Nonmember
Install water heater, from short to standard:  $1498.57 / $1798.28
Remove barrier (basically big wood column held by 3 nails)  $74.96 / $89.95
Service Agreement  $198.00 (so we could use the discounted pricing!)
Replace broken valve ($10 retail at HomeDepot)   $$362.96 / $427.01

Total:  $2134.49  / $2315.24

So not only did they make that from me, they also got reimbursed from the manufacturer.

This is for a water heater that was UNDER WARRANTY.

You tell me.  Was I ripped off?

I've learned my lesson with this company.  I've blogged about this, told all of my friends and neighbors...and I hope this helps you to RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN.
