Mold Test Company

The Mold Test Company…go somewhere else if you want test results in an efficient and timely manner. They were very friendly and helpful answering questions with my first call. They did not call me before I was ready to make a decision (which was a good thing). BUT, once they came out to take my samples (mold and radon), I never heard back from them! They told me 4-6 days for the mold test. On day 10 I called to complain. I was connected to the Manager, Brandon, who said he would check into it and “call me right back”. On day 13 I called again. I was again connected to Brandon who did not answer his phone this time and again did not return my call. Later that evening, on day 13, I finally received a call from a “Mold Specialist” with my results. He was very thorough and helpful. We are now at day 21, and several more calls later, and I still do not have my radon test results. I DO NOT recommend The Mold Test Company. Good first impression, very poor customer service.

After discussion with salesperson, agreed on price of $469 with $50 deposit via credit card, requested to pay remainder of bill via check. Agreed on air quality tests on both levels of house plus one outside, and one swab sample inside. Technician performed one swab, one outside test, one inside test and told me a second air quality test would be an extra $70 which I declined at that time. An email from the company requested alerting the technician if I wanted to pay the balance without a credit card so I repeated my desire to the technician to pay by check. He stated someone from the company would contact me regarding method of payment. With no phone call that day, I called the salesman back the following day, reviewed details of our initial conversation including number of tests and payment-he was very apologetic and would have someone call me. After two more phone calls from others in the company during which I explained again that I requested a second air quality test for $469, an additional appointment was scheduled. The technician came that day to complete the tests-and I find that the balance of payment had been made using my credit card. The technician arrived early for the first appointment with no warning which I mentioned to the salesperson. Since I have a home business with set client appointments, this was a little disconcerting. He arrived early for the second appointment. The disorganization and inattention to details in this company is not only frustrating but unprofessional. I am hoping the test results are presented in a more coherent manner. This is a national company, which serviced me in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

This is little more than a scam. The price they quote will end up 'not being sufficient' testing once the inspector comes and puts out his sampling kits (which look a lot like the ones you buy in the stores). Ended up being $700 testing fee. This company is really upfront sales for Biocide mold products. Which was $1400 for our 2 bed room house. Our mold remediation company told us "whatever you do - dont pay for sampling". But too late.
