Response from Master Rooter, LLC
"Ms. [Consumer Name Removed] we have spoken many times in length about this situation. We have reviewed the entire work order numerous times with you. You are correct you mentioned a company wanted to charge you $6000 to do a repair on your septic system, we came out at no charge and assessed the situation and our technician looked at the scope of the work and quoted the price lower than the other company to do the repair. The technician decided to be safe to do more exploratory digging to the older system and after a few more hours of exploratory digging the technician realized that the major repair would not work and not benefit you. He was very certain the repair wouldn't work and then we couldn't warranty the work and you would be out over $5000 with no help. We value doing the best for the customer and making sure if we can do the work and it will help the customer we will do it. In this case after a while the technician came to you and explained and put on the invoice in detail what was done including lengthy exploratory digging and pumping the tank. That is why the work order changed and the price was just for our expertise and time to ascertain the situation and determine if an expensive repair is worth it to the customer. The best option is a new drainfield which is very expensive but a long term more permanent fix then a repair. Especially since the repair would not function or be successful. We did apply a coupon after the fact for the exploratory dig services to try to help. We have taken your call everytime and have listened to your concerns and have spent numerous times accounting for a few hours on the phone to continue to explain your system and why we didn't do the repair. We feel you would be very upset if we took all that money for the repair and you would still be having issues. We maintain a good reputation by looking at everything, explaining it and then ensuring the services provided will benefit and help customers. This was the best option for you as it took time to review the extent of your older system and how bad it was due to age. We are sorry this didn't work out the way you wanted but we feel it's the best way to approach major problems. Septic systems are underground and if you are having problems the only way to determine the issues is to take time and dig and we brought over $150,000 of equipment with seasoned and trained technicians to review what was going on. You also mentioned you would have the other company come and do the repair for $6000 in our conversations after our service time there. We advised you it's probably not the best option and your money would be better spent in a long term solution. We continue to look out for your best interest in your ongoing problem and offered those solutions to you as well."

Septic Tank Cleaning or Pump Out
$540
I should have read the reviews, quoted $140, then $280, when they showed it went to $540.00 and trying for another $300 for chemicals. So lets look at my 750 gal septic tank which has a 6" cleanout pipe. so no digging, just drop the 4" hose in and pump out the tank. About 35 minutes to back in, pull the hoses, put them in the tank, drain the tank, put hoses away, write out an absurd invoice. Read reviews, call three companies, forget any quotes over the phone, let them come out and give a free estimate. no free estimate? say goodbye, absurd estimate, say goodbye. Screw me once shame on you screw me twice shame on me. They said it costs more when the tank is full, who calls for a pump out when the tank ie not full ????

Comparable pricing. I called around to many septic companies and they all seem to be about the same in pricing. Steven was my technician, he educated me on my system and broke down all the work I was having done. After everything was done he called me back out to review the work done to make sure I was satisfied! I was very satisfied needless to say.

We had hired Master Rooter to inspect the general health of our septic tank and they discovered that the piping was severely damaged which led to sewage accumulating to the top of the tank. The repair engineer Steve was extremely knowledgeable and explained the issue using diagrams and detailed the repairs that would be needed. He and his assistant performed the repairs right away due to the urgency of the situation and it was completed within 2-3 hours. He also provided advice on how to take care of septic tank in the future and provided a discount to make the repairs affordable. The only reason work quality is 4/5 stars is because we just had the repairs done and we'd like to see how the tank performs over the next couple of years. But overall, a job really well done, with excellent customer service.

We have not used them yet but we had contacted them for an issue we thought was with our septic tank. They were very honest in letting us know that was not our issue. We will call them to do the tank in the near future and will recommend this company to our friends and family.

After four different contractors, they managed to identify the real problem. I like that he used simple pictures from the internet to explain the issue. We ended paying more than expected, but at least we have five years of peace of mind!

Very responsive, nice on the phone and explained at each step what was needed. It turned out we needed more work than we hoped. They did what they could to help keep costs down but still a good bit more than we expected. I think pricing landed slightly below market average but seemed fair. Very knowledgeable and great getting a warranty on the work. They were very careful with our lawn and clean up.

One of my tenants called and said that they were having trouble flushing the toilet. After a plumber tried, unsuccessfully, to clear what I thought was a clog, I called Master Rooter. Sam was able to get me on the schedule for later in the day. And as promised, I got a call from Steven, letting me know that he was in the way to the house and to meet me there. Once he arrived, Steven was able to quickly find the tank and dig down to it. As soon as he opened the tank, it was clear that some work was needed. Steven was able to explain to me clearly what work was needed, the cost involved. He was then able to get the job done and get the toilets to flush late in the evening. Kudos to Steven and Sam for their quick response and professionalism. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a good septic company.
