My oven temperature wasn't consistent. He was very knowledgeable &
spent a good while testing the oven before he diagnosed the problem.  He
determined that it needed a new temperature sensor.  He didn't have
the part and had to order it which meant a return trip would be
necessary.  Two days later he came back and installed the part.  He
didn't charge me for the return trip but I felt the price was a little
high.  He was polite and friendly..

The price is really cheap. I use local business and they were close to me. He was polite, professional, and did the job. He didn't make any mess. He gave us some tips. He can work and chat, too.

They were the 3rd group to come out to try and fix the fridge. It started well with a quick diagnosis but the process quickly went downhill. I was told the part I needed was ordered but several days later I called to inquire on the status and they realized it wasn't. They actually had to comeback and get a part to send in. I was told it would take 2 weeks to get back, although the factory they were sending it to said their turnaround time is 1 week or less. When the part came back it wasn't repaired and I was told nothing more could likely be done, but they would keep trying to find the part. This is where they redeemed themselves. They found the part and although it took another couple weeks to get it they came out and made the repair. It was a big hassle and I didn't trust them for a period of time but they got the job done. Not sure I would use them again or not but I was impressed they stayed on it and got it done.

My refrigerator stopped running on Saturday. I called J Martin's to schedule a time for a technician to come by to repair it, and I was given an appointment time of after 3:30 p.m. today (Monday). Home before 3:30, I waited patiently until a bit after 5:00 when I called to make certain that my appointment was indeed scheduled for sometime after 3:30 today. The woman who answered the phone related to  me that she was unable to get in touch with the technician, and that I should keep waiting as he still might make it to my home.So wait I did. I called back at 6:40 p.m., only to get their answering machine. I left a message trying to determine whether or not there was any possibility that the technician was still going to come. Well, it is now 8:55 p.m. and, as yet, neither the technician nor a representative of the company has had the decency to let me know they wouldn't honor their appointment today.

We have a service contract through Lowe's.  The first company they sent obviously did not know how this burner was supposed to work.  Unfortunately I was not at home.  We  called back to Lowe's and they sent J. Martins.  Dave showed up on time. He even called to say he was on the way and when to expect him.  He immediately went to work, found and solved the problem even factoring in the help the dog was trying to give him.  He showed me how to prevent the problem in the future.
Now that is service!

This freezer was still under warranty for some parts, so I wanted to use a factory-authorized company. I selected this vendor because they were close and seemed to be the most professional on the short list of authorized Frigidaire service companies in the Atlanta area. They were also the only one on Angie's List, and had two really bad reviews. I figured that even if things went badly, I was gambling that Frigidaire would stand behind the work. The technician showed up on-time and quickly diagnosed the problem as a "dryer" leaking freon. As evidence, he showed me a green stain on the floor. He said the owner of the company would have to replace the dryer and charge the system for about $250. This part of the freezer was nine months out of the five year warranty, but he said Frigidaire might make an exception. He said that the freezer had been clearly leaking for years. Later that day, I got a call from the company owner, J. Martin. He said he was reviewing his technician's analysis and didn't agree. The green stain was simply oxidized copper, which is a normal situation when the copper dryer sweats. Rather, in his experience I needed a new evaporator and heat exchanger for $450. So my investment would be $90+$450 = $540 for a freezer that cost me $423 six years ago. I called Frigidaire and all they would offer was to pay for parts or give me 10% off a new model. So, I plan to eat the service charge and just buy a different brand of freezer. I honestly have no perspective for service quality for refrigeration since most of my appliances have lasted for a very long time. And, I typically fix appliances myself, but not refrigeration systems. At a minimum, I expect the person on site to make the definitive diagnosis. But, this unit has no ports for gauges and there really isn't much to meter. The technician only had one year of experience. I am not confident that the final diagnoses is correct or if the estimate is reasonable, but I don't plan to pay for another service call from another company. When different parts of an appliance have different warranty intervals, you are at the mercy of the company to give you the correct diagnosis. If the appliance cost more and was clearly out of warranty, I would have chosen a top-rated company originally.

What a joke. This company has nice, friendly technicians who have no idea what they are doing. So far it's been SEVEN visits and we're still waiting on parts which were ordered six weeks ago. Our appliances are less than four years old so I don't think it's a question of parts availability. Here's the real problem - the technician guesses about the cause of the problem. Then he gets on the phone to KitchenAid technical support people. Then he breaks something which was good while trying to get at the part he thinks is the problem. Then it takes weeks to get the parts so this crazy cycle can start all over again. This went on for nearly five months. Fortunately the appliances were "usable" during much of this nonsense but now it's a running joke with the neighbors. If these guys show up again I'm going to have to send them a Christmas card because they visit more often than most of our relatives.
