OMG. Charles with Home Pro was amazing! Walked me through what he was doing and how to fix my bifold doors. They were quick to respond and worked with me to get my doors fixed as soon as possible. I will call them again! You should too!!!

we all know that it is easy to give a good rating to a company whose services or installation goes perfectly. The real test is when something goes a little sideways. When Charles started removing our old sliding door, he discovered some issues that would require more time & attention. He dealt with that just fine. Then, when he started installing the new one, he had it sitting in there the opposite way: sliding open on the other side. We have a small house, and there was only one way that it could possibly open for us. After reviewing the info that came with he door, and finding the online YouTube video that showed how to 'flip' the door around to open on the other side, he was able to reinstall to match the way we wanted it to open. When the job was done, the new sliding door was installed beautifully, it was trimmed out and dried in just as it should be, and we are very happy with the final product. Charles charged a fair price and was able to complete the job within the time allotted. we will be talking to Charles about some other projects around the house.

Charles and Paul were on time, had all necessary tools and gear. Kept work area neat and clean, kept me informed on progress. Finished effort was to my satisfaction and warranty information was provided. Very pleased and will definitely call on them for future jobs.

Good work, a little expensive

A double (French) door on a north-facing exterior wall of our house rotted away because of water splashing from the roof. We had replaced it once (for $2700!), but the contractors used cheap pine doors, and within two years, the wood expanded, rotted, and they needed replacing again. We found Charles Cataldo, Home Pro Carpentry, who promised to replace it with a high-quality fiberglass door with waterproof brick mold and frame, which he charged extra for. The job totaled $2700, and would include a life-time warranty on the door materials. (A big improvement over the last contractor, who refused to warranty any materials he selected and used.) Before Charles came out to look at the job, we sent pictures of the inside and outside. We pointed out the plantation blinds on the inside. These were important to match (we wanted to reinstall the same plantation blinds to make sure they matched) because they were part of a two story wall of other windows with plantation blinds inside. He saw this, and understood this. Unfortunately, when the job was finished, he told us something entirely different. We never install blinds of any kind, he said. That was a surprise to us. You can t drill holes in the door without voiding the warranty, he said. That was news to us. We had made it VERY CLEAR we wanted all the blinds reinstalled on the inside of the windows. Charles pointed out that the work order didn t include reinstalling the blinds. He is right, about that. But we told him how important the blinds were to us from the beginning. He KNEW we expected those blinds to be installed. He left it off the work order, and we didn t catch it. Fine. But acting like he never knew we wanted the binds installed is not true. He even spent time at the end of the day trying to bail himself out, saying we could hire someone to glue the blinds on, or if we really demanded it, he would come back and drill holes in the door -- VOIDING THE WARRANTY ON THE DOOR -- to reinstall the blinds. Why didn t he warn us these would be ramifications of putting the blinds back on, since the doors he was replacing had the blinds on them in the first place? His helper was very careful in prying the blinds of the door in the first place. And he thought we didn t want them put back on? He did a good job on the installation. The door is a good-quality product. We were considering hiring him for additional work we needed to have done. Not anymore. We paid him. But we would never hire him again.

Job was done fast and accurate, but with attention to detail and quality. I replaced 3 old windows with French door and it looks like it was originally there. Great job!
