On 08 March 2014 I had 15 cubic yards of brown mulch delivered. The product was good and the delivery was good. The woman who works in the office, Jody, is very professional and does an excellent job.
However, on 10 April I arrived home at 9 pm to find my ENTIRE driveway blocked by 10 cubic yards of mulch with one car trapped inside. Furthermore, the mulch was halfway down the driveway so in order to get anything inside the house one had to haul it about 60 feet uphill. First thing the next morning I started contacting neighbors to see if I could figure out who the mulch belonged to. When I was unsuccessful at finding any one who was missing a truck load of mulch, I started calling companies that I had done business with, starting with the most recent. By 10;30, I had reached Greenlawn. Jody quickly figured out that it was indeed their mulch. I got off the phone and quickly made arrangements for my house keeper to come later in the day, moved several appointments, lined my husband up for much needed help to move the mulch and by 11:00 a.m. called Jody back and asked if they wanted to cut me a break on the cost of the mulch that they had mistakenly delivered . The company's first reply was that they would give me a break on my NEXT order! (that would be the one after the 1500 cubic yards in March and after I had full price for their mistake.) When I answered absolutely not, they offered to sell me the $245 worth of much, blocking my driveway, for $195. I countered with $150. The owner was not the same company that delivered the mulch. I felt for MY inconvenience of being blocked in and out of my house, because I had not ordered it in the first place, had already purchased over 400$ worth of much, and for having to move my schedule around in order to get the mulch out of my way by nightfall, that the two of them could split the discount. They said and quot;No wayand quot;even though they had to go out of their way to get a Bobcat . Incredulous, I called Jody and reiterated my offer as well as making the offer, both to the owner and the delivery person face to face. They told me in no uncertain terms that 195$ for 245$ worth of mulch was as low as they would go. By 3 p.m. on 11 April they had finished cleaning up the mulch.

This was a very expensive project for my husband and I, but we got everything we asked for (and more)! Greenlawn exceeded our expectations and we couldn't be happier. We highly recommend him to others and will definitely use him in the future.
I am very detail oriented and particular (some would say and quot;high maintenance), but Ken and his crew were terrific. They were patient and knowledge and did not quit until I was happy with every detail. Ken responded to every text, email, or call and was extremely helpful throughout the entire project. Ken's crew was great -- they were hard workers, prompt, polite, and cleaned up the site each night.
As a result of the summer's heavy rains, our backyard was a disaster. Our yard sloped towards the house, the entire yard sat too high around the foundation, and the retaining wall was falling apart. Greenlawn corrected all of our drainage and slope issues so that water is no longer an issue and the yard is functional. But, more importantly, we now have a backyard that is beautiful and the envy of the neighborhood!

Greenlawn was easy to work with, showed up when they promised, performed excellent work and even went the extra distance of moving things so they could do a professional looking install. Highly recommend them!

I had Souther Irrigation Services come out to repair a broken sprinkler head this week and they informed me that Greenlawn Landscape and Irrigation never installed the Automatic Rain Sensor in 2010, even though the Rain Sensor was included in the scope of work and paid for. I find this type of behavior to be unethical and certainly unprofessional.

Part of the job was done well, and part of it was not. They did the work but I felt like they did not do what they promised. The price was expensive. It is not what I consider economical. The quality was about middle of the road. I will not be using them again in the future.
Response from Greenlawn Landscape and Irrigation
"We went over and above the agreed upon scope of work and he paid upon completion and full satisfaction, not a penny up front. He agreed to the price prior to commencement of any work and we did not ask for any deposit or down payment, the entire amount was left to be paid upon completion. Don't order the filet mignon off the menu and complain about the price when you have eaten it all up. Note to all good contractors; do not work for this person as he will attempt to harm your reputation even though you did everything he asked and then some. Although I am leaving Angie's list, I will let you know when he calls me again for services as he will find out later how reasonable we are."

They did an excellent job with dispatch. The drainage problem that I had I no longer have: despite heavy rains in the past year I no longer have a wet wall in my basement.
