The workers arrived on time, and finished the job of cutting down the trees within 4 hours or so.
I didn't hear back from the company for two days. Then the stump grinder showed up unannounced without a phone call, or even a knock on the front door. He went in my backyard and completed the job. This is not a huge deal, but I do have two dogs that may have attacked him if they would've been out back.
Following all the work, I had a few issues with the cleanup and damage that had occurred to my yard. I know taking out 6 trees is never going to be cut and dry (pun not intended), but I was told by Bam Tree, and this was one reason we went with them, that it would look like they were never even there after the job was complete.
I took pictures of my yard and emailed Jon, thanking him for the work done, but also bringing the damage to his attention, since he was not the person that actually performed the work. I mentioned I would appreciate a 10% discount on our original agreed price of $2000 since I now have to spend money fixing the damage left by the workers that was not normal and expected.
I did not ever hear back from Jon. I called Bam Tree 3 times afterwards. Twice, I spoke with the lady that answered the phone and she told me she would have Jon call me. He never did. I went ahead and called back to pay.
They performed the job, and did a fine job at that. But there was absolutely no service after the sale. And that is where the true professionals shine. Anyone can come out to sell you something. But how do they react to any issues that arrive? And whether they feel they are in the right or not, how do they make their customers satisfied?
I see Bam Tree has a lot of positive reviews on Angie's List. I wish I could write one as well. If Jon, or someone at Bam Tree would've at least returned a phone call, I may have felt differently about the whole thing. $200 is not going to make or break me. I'll pay what I agree to. But Bam Tree just lost future referrals from me, which could be in the thousands for them.
