Ozborn Electrical Contractors Inc

I have a home office, but hardly any outlets in my house are grounded. The current generation of APC-brand Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) boxes will not work properly if the power circuit is not grounded. I was thinking that it would be easy to convert the air conditioning outlet to a regular three-prong plug, and the wires would have plenty of capacity since I just run a laptop, a tiny inkjet printer, and some cordless phone bases. I e-mailed/called a couple of contractors who would not even guess about such an arrangement without coming to see the wiring. Ozborn said that it sounded reasonable, but of course would depend on what they found, this was what I wanted to hear. We are the fourth owner of this house, and it turned out that whoever set up this circuit had an intermediate junction box between the circuit breaker and the outlet, to be up-to-code, new wires had to be run... so, the labor cost was higher than expected. Still, the work was done fine, my office is ok.
