A tree fell on my house in December 2010 This company solicited my husband by telling him the contract he signed was an agreement to submit a bid to fix the property. My husband did not know it was a contract until I read it and told him. The adjuster from CDL did not come to see my insurance adjuster, they came app. 1 week later to pick up the check with an approximate start date of January 15. My husband called them on Jan 13. Start date was pushed back to Feb. 12. Feb 9 my husband called. Start date pushed back to march 1. this start date was pushed back to week of March 14. Finally arrived on March 15 and again on March 17. Roof finished in 1 day. Eves under roof that where damaged were not fixed. The promise was the interior people would arrive Tuesday March 22. When they did not arrive, I called to find out where they were. was promised a call later that day. No return call received. Called each day for the remainder of week. no return calls received. Husband talked to girl in office on March 29th. she stated interior would be finished by end of week and she would call him back with exact date. no return phone call received that day or since. It is now February 6th, tomorrow will be 3 weeks since I was promised the interior would be finished. No contact received from this company. I had to get my brother in law to call, he was told I fussed at the man I spoke with. I didn't fuss I questioned where the contractor was. For the 3 months I waited on the roof I was given a "free" upgrade on the roof shingles.
Update: I called this company today at 1:00 and as yet (6:23pm) I have not received a return call.
Update: 4/8/11 workers arrived to start on my house after 3 months 3 weeks.
Update:4/11/11 work finished today. While they did do more than the original estimate called for because it took them so long I guess, I had to go back several times and get them to change things or fix things that I saw was wrong.
Update: 4/12/11 the worker came back to correct the items pointed out as done wrong per Joe Lucas. worker stated he could not fix the attic access because there was no cross member to nail it to. This is not true. There was a cross beam there to nail to, the worker cut it out when he had to cut the hole in the ceiling because he forgot to allow for attic access. The adjuster told me to have my husband call if there were any problems. My husband called the adjuster and was told to call the office that "management is right there they'll handle it"
What happened to "call me"? Needless to say, my husband had to leave a message because surprise, there was no answer, just a "leave a voice mail"
I am NOT happy.
Update: On 4/12/2011 my husband spoke with Randy Christopher, VP of the company.  He spoke to him regarding the attic access.  Since my husband had to work the next 2 nights it was agreed that he would call on Friday when he got up and would meet with Mr. Christopher at that time.  Two messages were left by my husband and one message by me.  There was no return call and none since. Today is 4/17/2011
Update: as of 4/19/2011 there has been no telephone call received by either myself or my husband regarding fixing these problems.
Update: 4/20/11 my husband finally ended up sending a text messages with pictures of the attic access.  The return message was "This will be fixed" with no date.
Update: 4/29/11 Mr. Christopher and the original worker showed up this  morning and fixed everything that was screwed up.  They were unable to replace the crown moulding in my laundry room since the worker threw it away.  The original that my husband took down is still here.
It took forever with many complaints but finally its done.  It does look good but it should have been right the first time.
10/15/14 Just 3 years and 5 months after my roof was repaired by this company it has started leaking. The company that the shingles came from have a lifetime warranty but the company that did the original work is in bankruptcy so whatever guarantee they had is gone.
