When it came to building the new shower, he did not follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer of the shower pan, leaving me with a creaking, moving floor in the shower and the plumbing not connected. I asked him to please take it out and follow the instructions provided, he said he didn't need to, that what he did was right. So we had a bit of a difference of opinion and he finally did take it out and following the instructions to a point......he didn't put the motar base on the floor to level the base as well as pack it with the mortar. When it dried, there wasn't enough mortar work done and all of the mortar fell out of the base causing a bigger movement issue. He did not finish off the tops of the shower walls he built. He also, knowing that I was going to do the tiling work myself since he didn't do it, wasn't going to put up the backerboard in the shower for me. Again he did very shoddy work when it came to placing the inserts in the shower for shampoo, etc. He cut thru my wall into my closet on the other side and didn't repair it. He left exposed 2 x 4's. He cut an existing wall out and made the bottom dry wall piece too large causing a bowing effect. The mudding work that he did on the surrounding area of the shower he built was not finished work, as well as all dry wall repairs. I have since called upon friends who do this type of work on the side to come in and pull the shower pan to make it stable, hook up the drain that Larry left unconnected, finish up the dry wall work so that it can be painted. Place the toilet that was supposed to be installed. And put in my shower doors. All of the above items were to be included in the price that he quoted to me.When I confronted him a second time about the shower pan and that it needed to be pulled and fixed, he told me he was done working for me and that as far as he was concerned I could get someone else to do the work. That what he did was right and there was nothing wrong with his work. He was extremely rude and I definitely would not recommend him to anyone. Over all, don't hire this man for any type of finished work or anything that needs specific instructions to complete.
