"Our company is dumbfounded by this review. Integrity, and honesty are qualities that our company takes pride in having. Unfortunately not everyone holds the same values. So we will address some facts and tell the truth about OUR experience with said customer, as defamation of character will not be accepted on this platform. We do not low ball estimates. We were initially contacted by this client over 10 months ago, however they decided to go with another contractor. We were contacted a second time by this customer (7 months later) to come back and do another assessment and provide another estimate. It seems that the relationship between the customer and their previous contractor did not work out and therefore prompted him to reach out to us again. The second estimate we provided was not accepted either. They sent it back twice with lower counteroffers. Due to the fact that the customers were an older couple that has experienced hardship getting their home completed, we agreed to do the work within their budget. Our company believed that that was the right thing to do. As we have later come to find out while working for them, several relationships with their previous contractors were not kosher or did not seem to ?worked out?. We cannot talk for others, however what we have experienced is as follows:1. The customer did not want to comply with our payment terms; our company therefore accommodated their request. 2. The job was delayed due to some items not being purchased by the customer, and a lot of indecisiveness (shower tiles, marble border, toilets, and paint not being decided on nor purchased); We had to buy some materials ourselves just to get the job started in a timely manner. 3. While working on the tile floor in the bathroom, the customer decided to start demolishing the shower which interrupted the workflow. This then turned into the customer requesting that we finish what he started; A fair price was once again given to the customer, and the additional work was taken on by our company 4. The customer had several unforeseen circumstances arise, and we were always there to assist; We have gone above and beyond, and have consulted the customer on numerous occasions on how to remedy several problems in their home (ceiling issues, concrete floor not leveled by previous contractor, shower and toilet plumbing just to name a few). 5. We have provided them with other contractors as additional resources for other jobs they needed to completed that were outside of our scope of work; The customer did not pay them in full either upon the completion of the job; they had to wait an addition 2 weeks for the other half owed. 6. We have accepted calls outside of our business hours (11PM) when the customer experienced an urgent matter regarding the need to replace their ceiling.Where we come from, this is called exceptional customer service. We have always maintained an honest, respectful and courteous relationship with the customer. Things took a turn when it was time to settle the bill. The customer already had a pre-written check that was lower than the amount due. The customer attempted to validate the shortage by stating certain tasks were not completed. These particular tasks were unable to be completed due to the customer not having purchased required items. This lead to us having a meeting. Our last meeting with the customer was on June 1st. It was decided that we would round back on the weekend of 6/13 with the expectation that all missing items needed from the customer, would be provided no later than that date, so we could finish the job. Ironic that his negative review was written on 6/10 (3 days before the 6/13 deadline), without having reached out to us after that meeting. Customer satisfaction is extremely important to us, however, this is unethical behavior by the client, and we will not risk the reputation of our brand by doing business with a toxic customer."
