I thought I had a thorough home inspection due to the length of time the inspector spent at the home I was about to purchase. Since I've been here, I've learned I was dead wrong. 1) the basement floods every time it rains. I don't think this house, built in 1954, all of a sudden sprung a leak. 2) The hot water heater was 16 years old and didn't have a pressure release system, therefore it emptied onto the side of my house chipping away the paint and seeping back into the basement. 3) The ductwork is not up to code 4) the electrical is not up to code (to be fair, this is the only thing he pointed out however he didn't tell me the extent of how bad it really is). 5) the drain pipe in half of my sink is too long and isn't even sealed to the sink, therefore I cannot use half of my sink without all the water pouring into the cabinet below. 6) one of the support poles for the whole house is buckling, and it isn't event attached to the beam - someone just kept adding shims and pieces of wood to hold the floor up. Because of the inspector's gross negligence, I'm spending over $18,000 on repairs I would have walked away from or asked the seller to pay for.

Jerry arrived at our home exactly when he said he would. He called me about 45 minutes before he was done with the inspection and asked me if I wanted to meet him at the house to go through his findings. He was very thorough with his inspection. He went over every detail with me that was going to be on his report and gave suggestions about things that were of importance and that I needed to look into. He complimented my future home and was very courteous while he was there. I will definitely be using them in the future. Thanks!!

Some things are worth the money. Amerispec was a bit more than other inspectors we shopped for, but Don Norton was detailed, patient, and responsive. I highly recommend Amerispec and would encourage others to use them for their home inspection.

Amerispec provided a complete inspection report that was easy to follow with full color photos. The inspector walked me through the report and andswered all my questions. They also give you a home maintenance manual that is great for first time home owners. They arrange a free termite inspection, and I purchased the radon test for an extra fee. They were fast, respsonsive and gave a very rigorous inspection to the property. I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: The company conducted a property insepction and a radon test.

The job was done according to EPA standards. I was lucky that a friend who used to be in the radon mitigation business and who had done work for me in another house found David Bigham and recommended him to me. It would behoove a person needing radon testing and/or mitigation to find a person who has received EPA sponsored training and agrees to use those training guidelines to carry out the job.
Description of Work: AmeriSpec measured radon in my home to check on a radon test performed in connection with a real estate sale to see if the test was valid. Then after I had the radon level lowered with radon mitigation, AmeriSpec measured the radon level again to check on the company that fixed the radon. Both times David Bigham came to my house promptly and did the job with a cutting edge radon detector. His fee was very reasonable. With his instrument and software he was able to make hourly readings of radon in my basement to satisfy me that the job was done right.

I have nothing bad to say about Ameri Spec Home Inspection. They did a great job of walking through with me and explaining everything they were doing. I work in realty so I recommend these folks to my clients as well.
Description of Work: I had Ameri Spec Home Inspection come out and go over every little knick and cranny of my 3500 square foot home. They inspected all of the electrical wires to make sure they didn t have any shortages.
