My husband was traveling out of the country and I contacted them and made it clear to contact me as my husband would be difficult to reach. After repeated calls, I finally received a call back and they sent a technician out.
I was informed that the system was low on refrigerant and they need to add some to the system. They added 2lbs, checked that the system came on and left. Little time was spent in any attempt to try and diagnose the source of the leak.
Flash forward to March 2016 and we turn our system on one night to make the kids bedrooms more comfortable without opening the windows. The system runs through the night, but by morning has stopped operating. My husband checked to find the condenser frozen over. I've already cancelled my home warranty and had a more reputable company come out. They were alarmed to find that the line pressures on the system were indicative of a different type of refrigerant than what my system takes. Upon diagnosing, they find that indeed the wrong coolant had been added and my unit had been operating with mixed refrigerant for months! Even with replacing all of the refrigerant in the system, it's hard to say how much damage has been done or to what extent this company has shortened the life of my AC unit letting it operate for months with mixed refrigerant.
