Shourd's Painting

I would never recommend Shourd Painting unless someone had a desire to flush money down the toilet. Issue number 1: When Allen gave me an initial quote, I told him that some of the rooms in my house had been painted with oil based paint. He said this was not a problem and the areas he was to paint were not oil based. Come to find out, this was not true. After looking on the internet, I find out it's possible to test for oil versus latex simply by rubbing acetone on the area to paint. I have no clue why Allen did not take this easy and precautionary step. Issue Number 2: Because Allen did not prime first, the paint began to peel, in huge sheets even, off the doors. As someone who holds themselves out as a professional painter, I would think that at least priming is step one. Issue Number 3: Allen comes back to look at where the paint is peeling off the doors and trim. I ask him if the same issue is going to happen with the walls and he says "no" because the walls were primed. I know this is not true because now paint is peeling off the walls as well. Issue number 4: Sloppy lines that will have to be fixed. Issue Number 5: Allen made a derogatory comment about women "picking at things" to my husband. As if he wouldn't tell me. If expecting the right kind of paint to be used so it doesn't peel off is "picking at things," then so be it.

Allen was extremely professional and did a great job. He did everything that he was asked to do and the house looks great. I would certainly recommend him to anyone.

Job went great. Allen came out on time and gave us a excellent quote, (and I had quotes from others). Allen was a pleasure to work with. Job was done on time and at quoted price. The work quality was awesome, the painting he did really came out great, he really seemed to care about the work and what we wanted. Work site was clean after each day. What more can I say, friendly people, great quality work, done on time and at stated price,,will definitely use them again and recommend them to all.

He is very good, reasonable, and he works quickly. He gets in and gets the job done in a neat and professional manner.

We evicted rentor from our rental house and had to make repairs. Mr. Shourd is primarily a painter, but he can do just about any kind of home repair. He repainted parts of house that needed it and installed our new French door.
