I found this business on Angie's List and thought " Any business on there must be great and have excellent service." I couldn't have been more wrong. I usually fix software issues with computers but this problem was my hard drive, which had been clicking as of late. I knew exactly what the problem was and what needed to be done. A hard drive replacement. Simple. I was initially surprised by how quickly the owner could work with my laptop and he was deceivingly pleasant. He texts me back a few days later saying my laptop is repaired and the problem has been solved. I was elated that the service was done so quickly. The laptop boots up while at his business and I leave because I have to go travel. About 7 hours later I reach my destination, and the laptop hadn't been used since I booted it up earlier at his place of business. When the laptop finally boots up again I receive the same error as I did before he worked on it. After attempting the boot about 8 times I finally get taken to my homepage only to discover he's installed software as well. The next day, I call this man to see what exactly he charged me for since he didn't do what I asked nor solve my hard drive problem , I learned that he attributed the problem to something software related(completely unrelated), he performed a system refresh( a basic windows 8 recovery function) , he charged me exorbitantly for the refresh instead of replacing my hard drive as I asked him to, and he refused a refund because I deleted the unnecessary material he installed on my OS.
This was without a doubt horrible service, he took my money and did what he wanted with my laptop, in addition to the recovery which did not need to be done and did not solve anything, he made changes to my user account, and installed junky software and made aesthetic changes to my home screen. This will be my last time consulting Angie's List.

"You presented me a Dell Brand laptop that would not boot. I ran diagnostics "F12" at splash screen and checked the entire laptop twice and the hard drive passed each time . Then I pulled the drive from the unit and slaved it to a server and scanned the drive for virus and malware. The operating system was heavily infected with malware which trashed your boot sector. I removed the virus and malware infection and refreshed the system retaining all your data. I installed anti malware software and a robust antivirus program and installed Classic Shell to restore the start button. Then I tested your laptop numerous time booting and rebooting and ran a final hardware diagnostic. You tested the laptop when you arrived to pick it up and seemed pleased with the results. Days later you called and stated that the laptop hard drive was defective and that it was still under factory warranty and you were going to have it replaced via warranty and that you wanted a refund. You never brought the laptop back for me to inspect and verify the hard drive, had you done so and I were able to verify the failure I would have accommodated your request. But the fact remains you got your data back and your laptop repaired to your satisfaction and then many days later demanded a refund. If the hard drive was bad you would have been provided a failure code at diagnostics. Customer satisfaction is what sustains my business and yours is the only non rehire rating I have ever had posted not only on this site but also on Google and Yahoo. I think the member community can draw their own conclusion regarding this posting."

It went as planned, I called him and he came to house 5 minutes later and took my computer. He was going to bring it back in one hour, but I went to his home and got it because I was going to be in the area. I will use Mr. Nalls again when having computer problems.

This is not the first time we used Chris Nalls services. He is fast, knowledgeable and very affordable in his prices. We will not even consider calling anyone else. He came to our house, spent aprroximately two hours each on two consecutive days, purchased the wireless router he installed and charged so little.
In the past he saved everything on a crashed harddrive and re-installed all programs and files on a Sunday. We used him to get a new screen in a labtop and he purchased a broken plug for an older laptop that was difficult to obtain.
If we need him or not, we have deciided to have him come at least every three months and do maintenance on all systems to keep them running at their best. We cannot say enough nice things about his work ethics, services and ever so reasonable prices. No wonder he gets so much repeat business. Once you have ever used his services, you will be hooked and that is a a true statement!

Excellent, excellent service. One Hour Response was the first company that popped up when I googled computer repair in Columbus (http://1hourresponse.com and http://local.yahoo.com/info-57211151-one-hour-response-computer-repair-wireless-netw-columbus). I called Chris and he sounded professional, knowledgeable, straight forward and not pushy. I asked him to compare himself to other computer repair places (price, quality of service, timeliness etc.) in the area and he said to read his reviews and call around because he was probably cheaper and faster than the others. So I did and most companies charged a minimum $75 for a diagnostic plus parts and labor. All in all, they quoted me around $130 or more to check out the computer and make any minor repairs. One Hour Response offered me a free diagnostic and $75 for repairs (he didn t think I would need any additional parts based on the problems I described to him over the phone).
I called Chris back and scheduled to come over about an hour later. He works out of his home, which I initially thought of as strange, but decided to just let people know where I was going and check it out. When I arrived, his daughter was cooking dinner and he greeted me warmly. Immediately, he got my laptop set up and started checking basic things that make computers run slow (viruses, auto updates, extra programs etc.). He even spent a good chunk of time on speakerphone with my fiance figuring out any other problems that had been bothering us with the computer. He worked on the computer for about an hour checking and tweaking things to ensure that it was running properly.
He told us that what he did would improve the performance on our 5 or 6 year old laptop, but we might have future issues because it runs on Windows Vista (he showed us websites describing recurring problems with Vista) and if we wanted, he could back up everything on the computer and install Windows 7 which would cost us around $100 for the software and $75 for the labor which included a military discount (no pressure from Chris).
We ultimately decided to just go with the tweaks that Chris made (deleting programs, changing auto-update settings, etc.) since it was such an old computer and it probably isn t worth putting $175 into fixing. The whole time, Chris was extremely helpful, very very knowledgeable and not pushy at all. In the end, he said that what he did was just a diagnostic (although it took over an hour of his time) and there was no charge. I offered to compensate him for his time and he smiled and said, no, thank you. I don t work like that and sent me on my way. What a gentleman!
Even if he had charged me, it would have been worth it as his service is outstanding. He made me feel completely confident in his ability to find the problems and fix them, he did it on short notice and in the end, my computer worked a hundred times better after an hour or so of tweaking.
Great job, Chris and I hope this review helps to compensate you for your hard work!
