Richard Marks (not, "Shoulda Known Better" Marx) and his crew (props to the main man Chad), did a great job on our kitchen. It's an old house and there were some idiosyncratic challenges that they handled with aplomb (even when I didn't when I found out the new fridge that we bought wouldn't fit the space...oy, my bad on that though). They stand behind their work. One of the cabinets they installed apparently had a weak backing and it came detached from the wall. Chad was out the next day and said "yep, we'll get you a new one". Took a week or so for the new one to come in and they came right out and replaced it. Great guys, great work, fair prices...

Company does not handle business on a professional level. My first service with them was the restoration of my kithcen and bath cabinets. Debated on the price that was given for several weeks as well as doing the project myself but due to a busy life that was impossible. After getting several other quotes, the company was the most reasonable. Their price fell in the middle range of all the other quotes. Cabinets did look better after work but was disappointed that the worker did not try to sand any part of the cabinets after cleaning and before the restoration. Because they looked 10 times better than before I didnt complain much because that was one thing I should have made sure of before but left off my list of questions to ask. Since I was already doing business with the company i figured I would go on to have them to order & install bathroom countertops for me as well. Was told upfront that it would take a couple of weeks for countertops to come in. I was ok with that. But after two months no countertops and no call from the representative. After numerous attempt with calling the company, would only get an email of response but no return phone call. The representative even had the nerve to text my cell phone one day. This I thought was very inappropriate and unprofessional being that of the amount of money I had put into the company. Needless to say, after over two month, the countertops came in but was the wrong size and would take another two months to get replacements countertops. Then I realized that the company had not cashed the five hundred and some odd dollar amount of check I wrote and that was the only good thing that came out of it. My opinion is that the company didnt want to do business with me because I didn't want them to do all of the work from start to finish. My husband and I was to take out the current countertops and do plumbing as well. Another concern I had with the company was that because I was handling most of everything with the company, the representative and contractor assumed that I was only making up that I was married because my husband wasn't home during any of the visits from the company. This which was said from the representative to me after visiting their office with my husband. Needless to say, the work was finished by my husband and I which only took a little time out of our busy weekend schedule to complete. Visited another company and was told by them to not consider Kitchen Tune Up. Was advised to seek any other company that been in business longer and knows what they are doing even if I didn't go along with their company. The company thought that I was young, single, and uneducated and would go along with what ever but was showed otherwise. I had never dealt with a company more unprofessional until this point. I learned from this experience to not only consider the experience of the company but its worth paying more sometimes to get that professional customer service and professional results afterwards.
Response from Kitchen Tune-Up
"On January 21, 2010 we met with this customer in our store to review pricing for a cabinet restoration and countertop replacement with a faux granite product. At that time she said that the cost for both was more than she could afford at that time. She decided to go with the restoration. On February 15, 2010 she finally signed a contract to perform a restoration on her cabinets. After repeated attempts to schedule the work with the customer, we were finally able to commence and complete the job on March 6, 2010. At that time she stated she was completely satisfied with the work performed, as confirmed by her comment that the cabinets looked "10 times better". On March 11, 2010, she contacted us saying she wanted to proceed with the installation of the faux granite. It wasn't until March 30, 2010 that she closed on that agreement. On May 11, 2010, we contacted the customer to tell her that the supplier of the faux granite was not going to be able to deliver it for another 8 - 10 weeks. At that time we offered, to return her check for $520, which she agreed to have us do. We sent the uncashed check back to her that day via certified mail. At that point, we considered the case closed."

Kitchen Tune Up was professional from the start. They worked with us and made suggestions for improvement, provided detailed estimates, and followed through with the committed cost. We had an issue with the appliances we had chosen (ended up being more expensive than initially thought), which was going to cause the price to increase; Kitchen Tune Up reduced their costs in other places in order to stick to the estimate initially provided. They communicated well and arrived on time and delivered services in the timeframe outlined. Following installation, they came out and did an inspection, and fixed all small dings, etc before considering the job finished. I highly recommend them. Additionally I was impressed with how clean the job stayed from day to day while work was going on. We were able to completely change the look of our kitchen without ripping everything out and starting over. We are extremely pleased with the work.
