The first appointment was scheduled in September, 2012, to discuss the work involved and get a price. No one appeared for the appointment and no one called to cancel, or reschedule. We contacted the company via email and we received a prompt phone call offering an excuse - the provider needed to take his children to school. We made a second appointment and he came out and gave us a price. The price given for the initial clean up was far lower than we expected and what we have paid other companies for similar work. The price given for twice monthly maintenance was approximately what we expected and roughly the same as what we paid prior providers. When he managed to show up, he was very polite and hard working. He did an extensive amount of work for the price. We have no complaints about price or quality of the work performed and we expected to pay more. Unfortunately, showing up was a problem. He did most of the initial yard clean up, except for finishing the mulching, and said he would return in two weeks. We asked him to contact us in advance of his next visit, so we could purchase more mulch and he agreed. We heard nothing from him. The scheduling appears to be done by a family member of the service provider and she scheduled the first appointment that was ignored. The provider's voice mail was almost always full, so leaving a message was usually impossible. After the provider failed to return to perform the remainder of the work and to do maintenance after the agreed upon two weeks, we sent an email inside the company's website as we did when the provider failed to show up for his first appointment. We specifically asked when the provider planned to return so that we could have the rest of the mulch available. There was no response via email. Approximately two weeks later, we received a voice mail from the woman who schedules the appointments blaming us for not contacting them to set up an appointment. That call was the last straw. Blaming the customer for the provider's failure to get the job done is not acceptable. We do not intend to continue using a lawn service that requires us to track down a provider who does not clear voice mail or respond to email. We agreed to maintenance every two weeks - this seems to be a simple concept. Unfortunately, this provider seems typical of yard and lawn service providers in Columbus, Georgia. Over an approximately 10 year period, we have found professionalism among yard service providers to be almost non-existant.
