We bought our house after it had been sitting empty for about a year. We moved in around the beginning of October and when January arrived, so did a lot of rain. We lost the use of both of our toilets and we called Affordable Septic to come and pump our tank. They pumped the tank 3 times, it was so full. I don't think the previous owners ever had it pumped. That's a lesson learned for us should we ever move again. They also installed a riser over our tank since we initially only had a general idea of where our tank lid might be. Well, that job went perfectly, but over the past two years, we've still been losing our toilets with every heavy rain that comes through. I went online and started researching septic services and I noticed that there was one in Harris County. I called, spoke to a woman who listened to me, sounded concerned about my issue, took my contact info and said she'd have someone call me. After almost two days passed, we still had not heard from them. So, I picked up the phone and called Affordable Septic (should have done that to begin with). When I got their answering machine, I realized that it was after their business hours, so I just hung up because I hadn't had much luck with leaving messages lately. A few minutes later, the phone rang and it was Affordable Septic. Needless to say, I explained our issue and he said to call him and he'd come out Monday to survey the situation. A++ on responsiveness! We'll see how the story ends depending on what needs to be done. We probably have to install more field lines. Ugh!
