We secured several quotes for a reroof. Halbrook came in lowest. You get what you pay for.
The estimator was over an hour late for his first appointment, then called to reschedule. When he did show he neglected to look inside the house to ascertain the type of interior that would be affected nor did he go on the roof to inspect it..
We received no call to schedule work. The crew just showed up unannounced on a Monday morning necessitating an upheaval of our schedules.
The crew, the estimator and the company owner, Mike, were informed at least four times that the existing and expensive lead booting on the main house was to remain. It was removed and discarded although the owner said that removing lead required special handling.
The wood stove piping inside the home is damaged due to the rough handling it received during roof installation. It was left loose and tilted overnight which bent the stack inside the house from the pressure brought to bear. It must now be repaired or replaced to be used safely. I informed the company owner, Mike, of the damage being wrought to the woodstove stack inside the house during installation and was ignored. This damage has not been repaired and rain is entering into our home.

Three nail holes are showing through the tongue and groove ceiling. The owner, Mike, was informed and shown this during installation. Again, it was ignored.
A crewmember sat tools on a piece of furniture in the garage that was in the process of being refinished. Due to the scratches received it must now be repainted.
Cigarette butts, nails, shingle debris and bits of insulation are still being cleaned up.
Crew member helped himself to a new can of insect repellent inside our garage emptying the entire container.
Unused shingles and other materials obtained for this job were not left behind.
Although this company insists otherwise manufacturer warranties are generally voided on overlays. Reputable roofers will not even offer overlays. The other bids we received would not perform overlays.
Some of the crew members were quite pleasant, but this is not a company to be recommended in any instance.
