OVERHEAD DOOR

I hired Gaffney Overhead Door Company to repair my mother's garage door in January of this year. The wires had come off the spools on both sides. They came out, inspected and repaired same day. Impressive. Told me to prevent this from reoccurring I needed to replace the springs. I approved it and the bill was $300 ish. Paid. My mother is 97 and does not drive. So car has been out of garage once since January. That was last Saturday which is mid March. I manually opened the door as to be quiet. MBR is above garage. When I did this the wires came off the spools. OMG. I phoned Meghan of Gaffney OHD on their emergency hotline. She got technician right out. Roger. Great guy. He got the wires right on and adjusted the door where it closed flush to the concrete floor. After the January repair it was going down crooked with gap under the one half of the door. So on Saturday all looked good. Then I learned they do not warranty repairs. So another $250 out of pocket. Then, after Roget left I noticed the wire on one side of the door has slack in it when the door is open. Good chance it will come off the spool again. So it still needs adjusted. They have promised to adjust it again and no charge this time. But I feel this Saturday charge should have been a free adjustment. Come on. Car was out of garage once since it was fixed in Jan and that’s when the wires came off. Summary: Gaffney is five star when getting out and fixing your door in a timely manner. Five star on being polite. But if you expect a warranty on repairs that rating in my book goes down significantly. I’d have to be pretty desperate to call Gaffney again for repair work. Good luck.
