My daughters and I have been boarders and in training at Misty Meadows for the last 3 years.. My 10 year old is learning the TRUE ART of Horsemanship and Classical Dressage...The trainer, Lisa Harders is a consumate professional. The staff and working students under her direction are forutunate to be able to learn from such a talented and knowledgable equestrian..She, as well as the owners Sue and Dave Myers have the wellfare of their clients and their horses in focus at all times..As a 20 year trauma nurse I am very comfortable with the safety standards that are set and practiced here. My family and I are extremely lucky to have found such worldclass talent in the beautiful North Ga. mountains!! I would highly recommend this facility to anyone who aspires to become a well rounded owner and rider in the sport of Dressage!!

Animal Boarding Kennels
Misty Meadows Horse Farm is in the hands of children, literally. The owners are rarely there, if ever, and the and quot;trainerand quot; pawns-off most of her work to and quot;working studentsand quot;. The smart-mouth attitudes of these kids telling the boarders what will be done and what will not be done with the boarders own horses. The children have actually gone as far as telling the owners horrific lies in hopes to better position themselves. The owners of Misty Meadows continue to side with their poor choice of employees. Sadly there are few equestrian centers in the Clarkesville, GA area. I highly recommend to anyone who is considering to board your horse there, NOT TO. Drive a little further and spend a little more money somewhere else.
Response from Misty Meadows Horse Farm
"The woman writing this negative review was asked to leave our barn because she hit one of our employees. She is trying to smear our business due to her own inability to control her emotions. As the owner of Misty Meadows I would like to refute some of her statements. First of all, we have 10 employees (not including the two owners). Seven of those employees are adults and 3 are high school gals who are here as “working students”. Our trainer, who has 35+ years of experience riding, training and giving lessons, lives on the property in a house adjoining the barn. She may not always be in the barn, but she closely supervises any employees. The 15 year old “kid” (deleted member name) referred to is actually 16 year old paid working student and she was lunging one of our 3 year old horses after being instructed and supervised by our trainer. None of our employees, adult or teenager, works around horses without training. This particular employee had better control of our 3 year old than (deleted member name) did of her adult horse. (deleted member name) has boarded with us for years, and during most of those years her horse has had mysterious illnesses that none of our other horses have experienced. We have spent endless hours medicating and treating her horse for it’s multitude of illnesses. Our trainer has been up late at night and into the early morning hours many times walking (deleted member name) colicing horse. For this we NEVER charged her an additional fee. A month or so prior to (deleted member name) being dumped from her horse and breaking her back we were told he was dangerous to ride because he kept falling over. She started riding him again when the veterinarian changed his mind and said he was okay. After she broke her back she wanted us to continue to exercise her horse so we provided her with a working student to do this. When she insisted on pushing her horse beyond what our experienced working student felt was safe, another adult employee intervened to support our working student. (deleted member name) struck this adult employee and she was asked to leave the barn. There is much more to write about this individual, but suffice it to say we are glad she is gone from our barn."
