I should have known it was going to be an issue when I asked for an itemized invoice and was told they could just give me a copy of my credit card receipt. When I pushed - I was made to sit down and wait. (Apparently the guy who does invoices hadn't come in to work yet). Once he arrived, I was shown a statement where I was charged 30 hours of labor - over $700. They indicated that they had diagnosed and fixed the sunroof drain, which of course was actually done by the window company at my request. I balked at being charged so much money for unapproved labor and was told that perhaps my husband approved it without my knowledge - yes, someone else approving work on my car - that was in my name - with my number as the only contact. You don't need to be a legal scholar to know that the only person permitted to authorize work on my car is me. (But the mysogny was a really nice touch to the whole experience!)
Anyhow, the situation got really intense. Some other guy came out of the back and started screaming at me how they were the only shop in town that fixed the problem - which is true because they are also the only shop in town we took the car to and when we asked to pick the car up we were told they had "taken it apart to dry".
The moral of this long story is to stay away from this place. They might be good at cheap oil changes but they are not specalists. They charged me $1100 to replace a $24 part, kept my car for a month while they ineptly ordered the wrong parts over and over and over, and screamed at me when I asked for proof that I approved 30 hours of diagnostic labor.
They are on Angie's List. They are a Toyota and Lexus auto repair company. They have good customer service and are friendly. There is no upsell and they show me what repairs can wait. They look at things and then give me a price. These guys take a look at things to determine what the issue really is and then decide how to proceed, including giving me a quote for the particular service. They are a good group of honest guys.
As far as time goes, they finished the job in 3 days.
Bad: Really, just the timing. They don't do appointments, and it's first come, first serve. There were a couple of times I went for an oil change and the wait to start was over an hour. I don't remember everything I had done on every date, but they are popular and the wait shows it.
