After reading positve reviews online, I brought my 4-Runner to Toyotechs to address an electrical issue. We expressly approved 4 hours of diagnostic labor and agreed that if they couldn't locate the issue in that time, we would take it to the dealership. A few days later they got around to looking at the car and said we needed to replace the computer. We approved it and they order the new computer. Once it arrived, they discovered the computer wasn't the issue after all. After days of nothing from them - they called and said they were really busy, short staffed and hadn't had a chance to look at the car - however, it had rained overnight and they saw water in the car and declared that the water was coming from a side window (which we had recently had replaced). Awesome. I call the window company and they sent out someone who was shocked to learn that Toyotechs hadn't even put water on the car themselves to test the window! The window company used a waterhose and quickly determined that there was a clogged sunroof drain. The window company fixed it the clogged drain and we were told that Toyotech needed to order a wire to make the electircal fix and then we would be done. Well, after three weeks of them ordering the wrong parts, sending them back and waiting on new parts, we finally picked the car up today.
I should have known it was going to be an issue when I asked for an itemized invoice and was told they could just give me a copy of my credit card receipt. When I pushed -  I was made to sit down and wait. (Apparently the guy who does invoices hadn't come in to work yet). Once he arrived, I was shown a statement where I was charged 30 hours of labor - over $700. They indicated that they had diagnosed and fixed the sunroof drain, which of course was actually done by the window company at my request. I balked at being charged so much money for unapproved labor and was told that perhaps my husband approved it without my knowledge - yes, someone else approving work on my car - that was in my name - with my number as the only contact. You don't need to be a legal scholar to know that the only person permitted to authorize work on my car is me. (But the mysogny was a really nice touch to the whole experience!)
Anyhow, the situation got really intense. Some other guy came out of the back and started screaming at me how they were the only shop in town that fixed the problem - which is true because they are also the only shop in town we took the car to and when we asked to pick the car up we were told they had "taken it apart to dry".
The moral of this long story is to stay away from this place. They might be good at cheap oil changes but they are not specalists. They charged me $1100 to replace a $24 part, kept my car for a month while they ineptly ordered the wrong parts over and over and over, and screamed at me when I asked for proof that I approved 30 hours of diagnostic labor.

Everything they do is spectacular, they don't overcharge at all. They're fabulous. Plus they're really just so helpful, they even have said "you need to do this, but you don't need to this right now" how many places tell you that? They have told us about things we don't need other places have said we did. They were just really honest and great to work with, can't say enough. Superb integrity and honesty and pricing

They are on Angie's List. They are a Toyota and Lexus auto repair company. They have good customer service and are friendly. There is no upsell and they show me what repairs can wait. They look at things and then give me a price. These guys take a look at things to determine what the issue really is and then decide how to proceed, including giving me a quote for the particular service. They are a good group of honest guys.

I tried ToyoTech based on a friend's suggestion and the Angie's List coupon and recommendations.  The experience wasn't bad but the main issue is that the shop just isn't convenient in any way for me.  They are only open M - F, 8 - 6.  The shop is not anywhere near where I work and is 20 minutes away from my home so I had no real option but to wait on the car.  The waiting room is small and not set up for someone to wait a long time on their car.  Every time the front door opened, cold air blew through the waiting area.  I needed regularly scheduled maintenance plus I had some shimmying when I braked which turned out to mean that my brakes needed to be machined.  It took about 3 hours for everything.  The cost of the oil change was the same or more than what the dealer or AAA would cost which isn't a huge problem for me as the reviews for those other places are pretty bad.  However, it just doesn't make sense for us to take leave from work or rearrange our day so extensively unless there is something significant to be done with the car.  With our other options, I can either return to work or do other errands or have the work done on a Saturday.  We just have to expect that we may receive some poor customer service from them or possible attempts to do work that may not be needed.

The car seems to be running fine, and they were able to finish it for under the quoted amount.  I only wish I saw the Angie's List coupon before going there ;)  I guess nobody likes to buy a new transmission, but they were very fair.
As far as time goes, they finished the job in 3 days.

The service was done within a timely manner and done within expectations. Pricing was reasonable and including extra by checking the tire pressure sensor light and topping off the tire with low pressure at no additional cost.

Pros: professional, explained what they recommended (or didn't recommend) and why. Not super cheap; not super expensive - seemed fair given the area. Good reputation.
Bad: Really, just the timing. They don't do appointments, and it's first come, first serve. There were a couple of times I went for an oil change and the wait to start was over an hour. I don't remember everything I had done on every date, but they are popular and the wait shows it.

Toyotechs performed the work promptly at a very reasonable cost. I have used them several times and highly recommend them. On past occasions, they have not charged me when they found no problem with the car when I brought it in because of a noise or other issue that I wanted checked. On one occasion they told me that the issue was a faulty part installed by a Toyota dealer several months earlier and that I should take the car back to the dealer because the part was likely to still be under warranty and would be repaired at no cost to me. They were correct.

The fuel filter was NOT in need of replacement and my 2002 Toyota Tundra was in good shape. I was very impressed with their honesty and excellent service.  I will use them in the future for any vehicle problems that come up.
