Metro Septic and Plumbing

About us

Metro Septic and Plumbing provides outstanding service for the Metro Atlanta area and most of North Georgia with fast, courteous, professionally trained service technicians. We take pride in our reputation of professionalism, fairness, honesty, safety, and quality of services. Others could quote you a low price over the phone & you could find yourself paying three times that much when they include their add-ons & up charges. At Metro Septic and Plumbing our price is flat rated to pump out the septic tank with no hiding fees and no additional charges. In order to keep your system working properly, your septic tank should be cleaned every 3-5 years. Un-maintained, your system could fail and that could lead to many problems, including back-ups or expensive field line replacement. Metro Septic and Plumbing is a family-owned, team-oriented service business. We care about our customers, our community and our employees.

We noticed that we had a pipe inside the home that was leaking and called a plumber. The plumber informed us it was the pipe leading to the septic tank and referred us to Metro Septic. Metro came out and drained the tank and inspected. It was discovered that our drain field needed replacing due to tree roots and age of the system. This was causing our tank to fill up prematurely. They gave us a quote and gave us time to think about our options. After a few days we called back and decided to go with Metro for the job. The cost was around $6500. They explained all the steps involved. It took 3 days to complete the job once started (after county permits and inspection). They were very professional and courteous. We now have a functioning septic system and a 10 year warranty on their work. It is a very messy process and one that no one wants to go through but Metro made the process go smoothly.

Response from Metro Septic and Plumbing
"We are sorry this happened to you but, I believe you have us (Metro Septic LLC) mixed up with another company. We do not quote $295 on Angie's List and we do not have your information in our system. If you could please redirect this review to the company that actually did the service for you. Please give us a call if you have any questions about our company and who we are. Thanks. 678-873-7934"

My water heater was just over a decade old, and despite it having no obvious problems, it seemed prudent to replace it before risking damaging the property of neighbors in a tank failure. Initially, the coupon I got on Angie's was not actually appropriate for the service I wanted; it clearly spelled out standard installation which mine was not due to the location (condominium) and the type of heater required (a compact heater). However, I spoke to John Lee on the phone and he was very accommodating and able to quote me the new price without much trouble. I compared it with other estimates from reputable Angie's List plumbers and it was an excellent deal on that level, so I went ahead with it.
Scheduling was not a problem and they arrived on time, and proceeded with the replacement without any problems. They were careful in explaining what they were doing and why, and I felt very comfortable with what they were doing throughout. It took a couple of hours just because of the nature of draining and filling tanks, and while they waited for the seals to dry they stopped off to get a replacement aerator for a broken one in my kitchen faucet. This was a nice touch as it's the kind of thing that's trivial to replace if you know what you're doing, and they were fully prepared if it turned out that I needed a new faucet altogether. since aerator did the trick, they were happy to handle it for me for no additional charge.
The heater seems to be working great (they checked it out thoroughly before leaving), and I look forward to another decade of trouble-free operation. I recommend Metro Septic without reservations, and I am pleased to have a plumbing service that is both reasonably priced and does high quality work.

They came out and pumped the same day (Saturday) when we had a back-flow in our basement.  It was caused by a full drain field.  They replaced the whole thing a month later (needed time to get permit) after the initial pumping.  They said if it was more than a month they would pump it again at no charge.  They explained that the backup would occur again if we didn't replace it, and we'd have to pump every couple months.  They took the time to explain everything to me.  It took about three days to complete the work and I was happy with the service and would recommend them again.

Metro's rep called when he was on the way.  He arrived right on time and assessed the problem (water leaking from drain field).  He recommended pumping the septic tank to let the drain field have a chance to dry out from recent rains before resorting to more expensive options which might not be necessary.  He located one port of the tank and observed that the other port was under a concrete sidewalk.  He quoted a price to take up the section of sidewalk covering the port but was very accommodating when I asked him to come back another day to pump the tank so that I could hire a friend in the meantime to take up the sidewalk.  In short, Metro made two trips but did not charge any extra.  The rep was very patient with my questions and explained the work and process very thoroughly.  The price was $375 to pump the tank and $110 to install one access panel.  And they gave me the choice of a 10 percent discount for using Angie's list or giving me a year's supply worth of enzymes.  Metro's solution, combined with recent dry weather, appears to have solved the problem.  I was very pleased.

My son noticed a foul ordor (recent home purchase) and assumed it had to do with plumbing.  The plumber (via phone call only) thought it sounded like a spetic tank problem and referred my son to Metro.  When my son mentioned who was recommended I checked on Angie's List to see if there was any information on Metro.  There was only one review available but it was a positive one.
Metro came out as scheduled.  My son said they were professional and thorough.  They confirmed that there is no spetic tank on his property and the problem was probably with the sup pump/flushing in the basement bathroom.  Either not flushing twice after use or possibly a leak in the seal.  They referred my son back to a reputable plumber (also on Angie's List) but recommended my son try just flushing more often and using bleach for a few days to see if that solved the problem.
There was no charge even though they came out and did a thorough check of the other toilets in the house.  My son said he would definitely recommend them.

They  were very knowledgeable and friendly.  They did not try to sell me anything else or any other services.
