"We appreciate your feedback. We work very hard to stay competitive on pricing, and offer a 5% price guarantee. We appreciate your business, and hope to remain a valuable resource to you for all of your garage door needs."
O'Brein was onsite the next morning and took care of the issue quickly. Springs replaced, tune up done, rollers replaced. The only issue I had, a very minor one, was the technician billed me $99 for the tune up and rollers and $39 for a service call. Both were covered in the Angie's List deal so I was initially overcharged. Spoke with a delightful lady, Amberly, and she quickly resolved the issue.
I would use them again and I would recommend them to others.
"We are so glad to hear you were happy with the services. Please don't hesitate to contact our office for any future garage door services you may need."
"Thank you for your feedback."
In a word, horrible.
Technician was here orginally to service garage door openers under their $49 offer. He persuaded us we needed to replace all rollers, tune up equipment, etc. Not sure we needed this but he painted horror stories of doors collapsing and injuring someone. So we agreed. We paid the tech $584 for parts & labor, but it took 5 follow-up calls and 3 emails to get a receipt for the work . . . really? Isn't that standard business practice?
Within months one of the doors started to malfunction. We notified O'Brien and they sent a tech to repair. Charged us and additional $48 dollars. Within one day, the problem returned. O'Brien sent the same tech and he again supposedly made the repair. Next day, same problem. We notified O'Brien and specifically requested that they send a different tech since the one they sent twice was apparently unable to resolve the problem. They agreed to do so, but O"Brien still sent the same tech. He fiddled around, assured us it was fixed, and surprise, surprise--next day, same problem.
When I spoke to the regional manager, he assured me he would call me the next day with a specific time for another tech to come and finally resolve the problem. He failed to call---shocker!
They are unreliable, unresponsive, and apparently unqualified. Use them at your risk . . . or as Clint Eastwood would say: "The question you have to ask yourself: 'Do you feel lucky?"
Too many qualified professionals to deal with this group.
Two other companies quoted me $150 after I called around to verify O'Brien's price, but at that point the work had already been completed and both other local companies stated they would not charge the service call fee plus a labor fee. I understand companies look to make money, but at nearly $100 more than other local reputable companies, I felt very taken advantage of, especially given its a 20 minute repair and the parts costs maybe $25 at home depot.
Although I cannot confirm this directly, I did ask the person who scheduled the call to confirm that the technician was not a subcontracted vendor and would be arriving in an appropriately branded vehicle. The tech did not have a O'Brien vehicle, attire, or business card furthering my suspicion that he was a subcontracted vendor. The work was completed and fixed, but given their price, I would be cautious about using them and would recommend the same to you.
"We are very competitive on pricing. We have a 30 day written price guarantee. Please forward a written quote stating the product # and itemized price from any onsite service company in this area. We will issue a refund for the difference."
