I initially called Keadle about 6 months ago because the line from the attic unit to the outside was backed up.  This was causing water to sit in the pan which was in turn causing my unit not to kick on.  They sent a wonderful technician who explained to me the issue, cleaned the line and serviced my 4 year old unit.   Because of this tech’s professionalism and courtesy I decided to sign up for an annual agreement with Keadle.

The technician they sent to me on April 21, 2016, for my semi- annual inspection, was uncommunicative and condescending.  He did not clean the line from the attic unit to the outside.  All I heard from him was “can’t do it”; no explanation and obvious irritation that I expected him to perform the service.  I tried to explain to him the prior tech had done it from the attic unit but my response was simply “can’t do it”.  In the next breath he told me my coil was bad and I need to pay additional money.  Here’s the thing, maybe the coil is bad and maybe it isn’t but after the “service” I had received from him thus far I didn’t hardly trust him to put my unit back together, much less pay him additional money.  I just wanted him gone.

I was so uncomfortable with the service he performed that I asked Ervin not to return to my home for a service call.  But no worries there; I will be changing service providers.  There is no reason anyone should have to feel that uncomfortable a) at their own home and b) for a service for which they are paying a fair and reasonable amount.

We noticed that the compressor was humming. We went inside the house and saw the temperature had risen to 85 degrees. We shut the air conditioner off. Keadle had done some emergency work for us before, so we called them. This all started at around 4:15 pm on a Saturday afternoon and by 5:30 we had air conditioning again.

They do preventive maintenance once in 6 months. It is a single owner operation. They are professional, get their own equipment and come when I need them.

The people at Keadle seem real nice. AC unit was blowing hot air, so ask for the outside AC unit and unit in attic to be inspected and repaired. Technician came out on Friday April 2, 2010. He stated he did not need to look at upstairs unit the problem was probably a faulty condenser fan which he turned out to be right about. Let him know that its been a while since I had either unit checked if he would please check it he insisted he did not need to. Turned out he also did not have the right model condenser fan on him but that he would be back Monday with it. Technician quoted at least $413.00 for the job. On Monday April 5, 2010 having receive no call or visit from the technician I called the office right before end of business, and they stated that the part was in but that the day was over and he would come Tuesday between 2-5pm. At about 5:12PM I receive a call from Keadle's office stating that the parts distributer that they used had closed 4:30PM and the technician was hoping they would be open at 5PM so he could pick it up before installation, and sorry but obviously he would not be able to install how about Wednesday? To which I stated yes (as though I had another option). The Keadle representative adding more salt in the wound stated that their distributer has been closing early a lot lately (so then why would you wait until end of business to pick up the part)? On top of which I explained to the office representative that I had asked for my attic unit to be inspected and he did not do it. She said she would tell him to do so for the Wednesday appointment. Guess what? He refused to look at the unit in the attic but it wasn't an "AC unit per say" it was a air flow regulator. Well I asked him isn't it something that should be inspected alongside the AC inspection? He stated that yes but only if I bought a membership into their prevention program otherwise he wouldn't look at it, was I interested. Clearly the office did not communicate with the technician. This past week has been unseasonably hot average temperature in the house was over 90 degrees F at its worst. Not sure I will use this company again, people seem nice, but have no since of urgency they don't follow up or communicate. Their quotes are pretty high but it may be an average I'm not sure. When I looked up the price of my condenser fan motor it was listed at $169.95 when asked how do they arrive at their labor fee, I was told they don't bill hourly but a flat fee. That would mean that roughly $240.00 was the labor cost, that seems pretty high, but then again for AC repair it may be the average.

I have an older central floor unit that would not light. Micky came in and took it apart. took a piece with him and returned the following day to finish the repair. He had to further troubleshoot to sind a bad safety switch and successfully got the job done on the second day. It has been performing flawlessly ever since! Thanks Angie!

While other contractors' prices were in the same ballpark, and one was cheaper, Keadle's professionalism and the initial service man's pleasant, efficient and knowledgeable attitude was what won them my business. I actually called him back out between my initial trouble with the old unit and the installation of my new unit, and he didn't charge me because it was such a simple fix he was done in less than five minutes.
