Jim did half of my windows in 2010. We were so pleased with his work we hired him again without hesitation! Jim and his crew do meticulous work. Jim inspects everything the crew does himself to be sure the customer is satisfied. Always friendly, always personable. I love these windows!!

They came out the week before to inspect my roof and provided me with a fair price for doing the work. I immediately gave them the job. Less than 1 week later, they were here to do the repairs. They were prompt, curtious, efficient and did an excellent job in a short amount of time.

We have a crazy roof line with lots of steep angles and add ons. We were chasing a leak around on our poorly shingled roof that had 2 layers. Jim said he would be willing to fix the flashing and valleys but couldn't guarantee it wouldn't leak again. We decided to strip off the old layers and put on a new 50 yr roof with architectural shingles. We are very happy with our decision! Jim stayed on it until we were happy. (Yes, I'm very picky about aesthetics, not just function.) Jim's crew also fixed some rotten wood, replaced and painted some Hardie board and trim. Although they're not the cheapest around, I gave them an A for their workmanship and professionalism. We would be happy to use them again.

As noted because McNail Brothers did such a good job back in April of 2012 I decided to use them again to repair a small second leak on a different section of my roof. The work was done in a professional manner with attention to insuring that the leak would be eliminated in its entirety. I am pleased and would expect that should I have another leak or should I need to replace the entire roof I will be talking to McNail Brothers.
One note, if you are constrained by a budget you may not find McNail to your liking as they are not the lowest cost roofer in tee area. As a matter of fact they were the highest priced of 4 different contractors that I spoke with. I decided to pay the higher price and I expected to get a better job as a result. I am pleased to say that this is what happened.

The McNail Brothers were referred to us by another contractor we had spoken with but not used. My wife and I went by their place of business and met Frank and his son, Jim. I had a warm fuzzy, as they say, from our initial meeting outlining what we needed. We scheduled Jim to come and review the scope with us.
This project started out as a repair to siding damage around our chimney stack and some rotted gable rake molding on the front of our house. As Jim estimated the project we discussed other work items including pressure washing and staining our deck and backyard arbor. Since our house was last painted in 2005 it was apparent that new touch-ups would not blend in particularly well. We added a whole house paint job to the list.
While performing the work originally contracted we discovered other problem areas. Discussions with Jim in our driveway prompted us to replace more problematic wood ares with concrete board pieces. Since replacing the facia boards all around necessitated taking the gutters off and reinstalling them we discussed replacing our 5 inch gutters and leaf relief with new 6 inch gutters and a combination of gutter helmet and leaf relief inserts (We had gutter helmet on the house originally). You might say we had significant scope creep but it was for the best long term.
Jim's crews started work on Monday, October 29th and worked several days straight. Weather and cold temps caused some delays and completion of the final trim paint was Saturday, November 10th. He used three different specialty crews and they worked very efficiently. They also were very neat and picked up the job site every day.
Jim also personally took interest in several problem areas and fixed for us with no charge. These included retainers on shutters on two front windows, replacing window sash locks on two front windows, and taking one of our screens for miscellaneous repair to the retainers.
As a testament to the good relationship formed we have asked Jim to perform some repair work on our son's house.

Our home is only six years old and the builder and quot;repairedand quot; the roof 51/2 years ago. We recently had about eight inches of rain and the next morning part of our dining room ceiling was on the floor. My search started on Angie's list for a company to repair the roof. We called four companies. One company did not come the distance our home is located from their office. Another wanted a fee to complete the estimate. And another scheduled an appointment for the estimate a week later. The fourth, McNail Brothers, was able to come the next day to look at the roof and determine what needed to be repaired.
Jim McNail was thorough explaining what products they use and do not use and how they would repair the roof. He seemed concerned about getting the job done before it rained again. We also chose them because they are local and could do the repair quickly. They were able to repair the roof the following week when one of us was able to be home and available if necessary.
We were extremely pleased with the work from start to finish!!! The crew was clean, presentable (which is huge for us), and on time. Jim came by during the repair and let me know he was here. I appreciated him coming by and filling me in on what they found under the old shingles and what they were doing to repair the roof. They matched the shingles and repaired everything that we agreed upon. The work was completed in less time than I expected. They contained the mess and thoroughly cleaned up when the repair was complete.
We are waiting for rain to ensure what repair was done is what caused the leak. We are very confident if it leaks McNail Brothers will come make it right. Again, we could not be more pleased with the company from start to finish!

From the time we received a consultation to the time the window was delivered and installed, it took at least six weeks. We were happy with that timeline because of how custom the window is. Also, I am very pleased we waited for McNail Brothers to do the work because they did an outstanding job. The window looks perfect, and they were all very professional and kind. I work from home and was a little worried what the noise level was going to be while the work was being done, but they were very quiet. They cleaned up after the project (better than the room was before they came!) and couldn't have been nicer. They were careful to get my inspection before they left. I will hire them again for similar jobs.

The McNails came in to clean up the first "new" roof which leaked in all the same places and more during the first rain, which was nothing like the rains we've been having lately. Through all the heavy rains these last months and especially the heavy snow and ice this winter that took a week to melt, my McNail Brothers roof has performed like the champions who put it on. Some wise person told me "if you don't have a roof, you don't have a house." Because of the McNails, there's a roof over my head. From the first hour long inspection which Jim and Rod performed to the actual work in progress I was kept advised of all that was wrong that needed correcting, how it was being corrected, and what the additional costs would be. I became so completely comfortable with these decent, honest men that I told them whatever you see that's wrong, fix it. I have a roof like they would put on their own homes. They are pleasant to work with and diligent in their performance. Everything promised, even verbally, you can expect to be done and to be done better than you've ever seen. They are the best people I've ever had working for me, hands down. As roofers, both Jim McNail and Rodrigo Ordaz know more about roofing (and I have a contemporary house with a difficult, many-angled roof) than anyone I've interviewed or worked with. The McNails left the areas surrounding my house cleaner than they found them. They were sensitive about my tree issues (I live in the middle of the woods). I never knew I could love a roof. Such roofers as these are rare, almost extinct.

After a spring hail storm, our roof needed to be replaced. After six top rated contractors bid on the roof replacement, we chose McNail Brothers. We had done some major research to better understand roofs and the best materials to use so we knew when the other contractors were not going to provide the product/service we wanted. Lee was very careful to make accurate measurements to ensure a correct estimate and he listened to what we wanted. The McNail Brothers crew showed up on day one and was the most professional and friendly group of contractors we've ever seen. They kept the area clean and made sure that no areas were left exposed overnight. The carpenters made some wood repairs to a dormer that suffered leak damage over the years and better secured it to the roof. Every step of the way, we were shown the work and asked if we had any questions. Two and half days later, the job was complete and we have been receiving compliments ever since from our neighbors and friends. In fact, our next door neighbor was so impressed from the work, they have decided to use them to replace their roof. Lee and Jim, the McNail Brothers, treated our roof like it was their own and we couldn’t be happier. We highly recommend them to anyone!
