JOAT

Let me say I am baffled as to how all the other reviews can be so wrong about this company, she is FAR BETTER than any of the reviews on any other web site are giving her credit for! Kristen and her workers Leo and Marvin are excellent to work with. Her subs are also extremely good, especially her tile people as they are true craftsman. We researched and interviewed several contractors before selecting Jill of All Trades. The great thing about Kristen is she loves her job and wants to make sure you are totally satisfied, and with me that is no small task. She is anal and OCD and more picky than you will likely be assuring you will wind up with a deliverable that you will be happy with. What impressed me the most was her willingness to collaborate on some tough decisions and being open to suggestions. Some of her prices may seem a tad higher than her competition, but that is because she goes above and beyond to make sure she delivers top quality. She does not nickel and dime you and actually did far more than she should have in some areas to make sure we would be satisfied with everything. We total gut and remodel of kitchen, and 2 a 1/2 bathrooms as well as stair railing and painting. At least 2/3 of our home was renovated and you could not ask for a better finished product without paying a high end custom home builder to build things to your exact specifications. I have no regrets about using her and will use her for future projects and recommend you look no further and call her for your project!

I requested an estimate from JOAT for the renovation of our family room (which included removing part of a wall into an adjacent room, removing wallpaper, painting, smoothing ceiling, etc.) Kristen came out, and I really liked her ideas, her attitude and professional explanations of the work. After receiving several estimates, It came down to making a choice between JOAT and another contractor, and I really wasn't sure which one to choose. We ended up going with the other contractor, who had been in business longer and had submitted a slightly lower estimate. I have since questioned the wisdom of my choice because I have not been altogether happy with the results of the firm I chose (we are still trying to get things corrected). I live in an older home that is due quite a few updates beyond the family room renovation, and I will definitely consider JOAT for future work.

We recently purchased a sadly outdated house and then started the quest to find the right contractor. After interviewing a few on the phone and in person we knew we had the right match when we met with Kristen of JOAT. There were several balls to juggle with various projects and a tight time table but Kristen pulled it all off beautifully. With so many choices / decisions and not a lot of time to do them I relied a lot on her expertise to help us get the end result we had envisioned. I know without a doubt that we ended up with a much nicer remodel - not only in quality, but also in beauty- because of her help!

Kristen is the owner. She is very accomodating: came by on a Sat to do the estimate; didnt try to oversell me or tell me how much my house is falling apart and would need massive repairs (like some of the other estimates I got). Her price was competitive. When someone else gave me a better price, I showed it to her and she matched it. She definitely without question has the best gutter guards in teh business. I had seven estimates and hers was the only one who thoroughly and completely addressed and understood my concerns about everything from the soffit that needed replaced to the type of gutters to the gutter guards.

IT WENT EXCELLENT !!! professional, responsible and got the job done correctly!!! The crew set up, protected my flooring and after the job was done they even cleaned up! I was amazed!!! You never get service like you do from this company these days! I will continue to use this company for future needs....

(I have submitted this review to another review site as well, but no matter how I phrase it, couldn't really describe my experience any better.) Excellent in ALL of the following: price quality communications responsiveness timeliness professionalism I am a repeat customer and have been very happy each time. I would AGAIN not hesitate to use them for any project and I would recommend them to my friends and family. You will be pleasantly surprised by being reminded of how customer service SHOULD be. Great in every respect!

Wow! They just completed a big job at my house - to finish in our basement. And I felt compelled to rate them. These guys are the next generation contractors. Strengths 1. Excellent communication skills - They have embraced technology, you are able to reach them anytime of day. They return phone calls immediately. In the morning they would let me know what was happening that day and in the evening they would let me know what got accomplished. Amazing! 2. Stayed on budget - Contractors I have dealt with in the past underbid to get the project then nickel and dime you thru out. Never happened with these guys. 3. Visible - They are present during the job. Some contractors come to sell you and collect money then you never see them again till its time for more money. Not the case with Kristen and Josh. 4. Above and Beyond - They went with me to pick out tile, paint and light fixtures. What contractor does that??? Bottom line is - I would use them with any job I had large or small. Great positive, upbeat, knowledgeable, and quot;get it doneand quot; contractors.

I liked that they were very punctual. Their staff did a good job and cleaned up perfectly. Their products were very good.

Kristen came out and explained her product and benefits we should achieve. She then measured the house and presented an estimate for the job. We signed the contract paid the down payment. Her people came out the next day to take down the old gutters and inspect the wood. The next day her crew was actually 20 minutes early and started laying out the job. Kristen was on the job about an hour later and stayed and managed the entire project. Everything was up and working by 5:00pm The crew was very professional and cleaned up thoroughly we only found one screw. We even had a thunderstorm to check out the work! Everything worked as she had said it would and all our problem areas are completely resolved. Kristen came back three days later to inspect the job and answer any further questions that we might have and only after we were completely satisfied did we pay her the balance owed. She and her company did an outstanding job. I highly recommend her, fair pricing and very professional service.
