After talking to David on the phone I could tell that he was experienced and knowledgeable, and he gave me a very fair over-the-phone estimate range for replacing both springs. I had called in the late afternoon, and he gave me an appointment for noon to 2 the following day. Shortly after we talked, he called back and said he'd had a cancellation and offered to come by that same evening, but I wasn't able to be at home so we kept the original appointment. The next day, he called me exactly at noon and told me he'd arrive in 20 minutes, which he did.
He went to work immediately, and I could see that he knew exactly what he was doing. He installed the springs, lubricated the door, and totally cleaned up. In addition, I had another 18-foot door that was acting up a bit, and he fixed that problem, at no charge to me, by simply lubricating the springs.
He settled on a final price which was in the mid-range of the estimate he had given, and I consider that price to be very fair. I was impressed enough with his service to ask him to bid on replacing two older 8-foot overhead doors on a different garage, and he gave me a very fair and reasonable price for that work. I expect to have him back to do that replacement sometime this summer.
I will use him again, and I have no hesitation at all to recommend him for overhead door services.
