"Not true. My sheet metal guy misread / misheard or got confused about the dimensions. (he used 48 and a 1/2 instead of 38 and a half) But, It doesn't matter who made the mistake; I am responsible. So, I modified the chase cover to the proper original dimensions, then added an inch to it to account for any unseen imperfections (out of square, warped etc.) That is what is currently installed. I would have thought Mr.[Member Name Removed] would be grateful that we saved him possibly thousands of dollars in water damage by hustling to get the job done before hurricane Irma.. but apparently not. Also, I would have thought he would have liked my my checking to see if the hurricane damaged our / his work without being asked, but I guess we struck out on that as well. ( I did it for my own peace of mind, and did not expect him to be standing in the road in front of his house when I rode by.) The long and short of it is: we have hundreds of customers every year. Inevitably there will be a few who are not pleased or satisfied. So, I'm sorry that we didn't meet your expectations Mr. [Member Name Removed], we did the best we could. "Wow, I just realized this review was here, or I would have responded much sooner... I would like to first say that I'm sorry Mr. (member name removed) did not find our service satisfactory. When I called him afterwards, he was not interested in what i had to say. It was his wife that called us, and Mr. (member name removed) was not even there during my visit. When we arrived, the chimney was dirty. That's what I was called for, to make sure the chimney was safe. I cleaned the chimney for our standard fee for that area. $175.00. I am fairly certain that I prevented them from having a chimney fire. I charged $25 extra to service the gas log lighter. I re-drilled out the holes, which were rusted closed; to allow the lighter to operate. Then I vacumed the manifold. The lighter worked fine when I left, and I demonstrated it to Mrs. (member name removed). She was satisfied with my work at that time. This is supposedly where the "problem" is. Mr. (member name removed) said that I did not do a good job of cleaning out the log lighter, that I should have taken it apart. The Gas system was rusty, and I'm not a licensed plumber as is Mr. (member name removed). Maybe, as a plumber; that's what he would have done but;I did not think it was wise or safe to did-assemble a rusty gas appliance in someone's living room, especially given all that was wrong with the house already. (foreclosure) I stand behind the work we did and the price we charged. As the only chimney company in the area, we serve hundreds of customers a year. We strive to satisfy the needs of all our customers. It is unfortunate, but inevitable that every once in every four or five hundred customers, we run into a unsatisfied and unsatisfiable customer.
