The workers did not remove old rotted bender boards, level rough paths, cut back overgrown bamboo, or add soil amendment to existing beds, as I contracted for. The person who did the estimate agreed to all above but was not specific enough on his work order. The owner agreed to reduce my bill by 100 lousy dollars.

"At Coastal Greenery, our goal in every aspect of our business is to deliver the finest in landscape management while building relationships with our clients. It seems that in this instance we were unable to deliver what the client perceived we were going to deliver. Meeting the client’s expectations in every situation can be difficult but we do go the extra mile to try to meet them no matter the cost to our business. In this instance, we did provide the work that was spelled out in the signed proposal. We worked for several weeks trying to work out what issues the client had. Coastal Greenery returned to work on the property a second day completing work at no cost to the client which was not written into the original proposal in order to help ease the frustrations of the client. In the 20 years that Coastal Greenery has been in business, we have learned that no matter how amazing our services are, there will come a time when someone will be frustrated with our work. Our reaction to an unhappy client is the most important part of this situation. We will not react with anger or ugliness but with an understanding that we need to help calm the client’s frustrations. If we have done everything that we can to fix what the client sees as “broken” and the client is still unhappy then it is time to step away from the situation. In this case, we can say with a good conscience that Coastal Greenery did what was proposed and we even went the extra mile to help the client but unfortunately nothing, not even time will heal this client's frustration. Coastal Greenery has stepped away from the situation knowing that we did all that we could possibly do."

We recently purchased a home and needed the landscaping cleaned and fleshed up. Coastal had a good reputation and we always see them in the neighborhood. We called for an estimate and received a quote in a flash. They put us on the waiting list and took a $500 deposit. We waited several weeks to get the job done. I don't blame Coastal, they just had a lot of jobs and we had to wait our turn.
When the work was done it looked nice. However, when I started to look closely I noticed several spots that were not weeded, just covered with straw. The expense was supposed to come from labor because they expected to have to hand weed. They were also supposed to spray a chemical barrier to help prevent weed growth. Less than two weeks after the job I'm picking and spraying myself.
I guess I could call and complain and I'm sure they would come back out. However, I like to get dirty and don't really mind cleaning the few areas left behind.
I was at work the day of the clean up, which didn't give me a chance to chat with the crew and do an inspection when finished. I would suggest anyone contracting any sort if work make themselves available to inspect the work as it is bing completed.

We wanted a tropical theme and he was very knowledgeable about what plants to use. He was very good in our initial meeting to find out the specific plants that I like and he made sure they all got tied into it. He was outstanding as far as the beds were laid out. He made suggestions to make it look better. I thought his price was very reasonable for what we got. His crew was amazing and worked very hard, long hours.

The owner is Jason Johns. He does everything. I know he is a little higher. He keeps all the weeds cut. The price is very reasonable. I called and they were out before I could turn around.
